Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 213: Chapter 111: First Day of Crossing: Mushrooms!

Furthermore, adding things like a luggage rack on the Land Cruiser would be quite incongruous.

Since the convoy includes a pickup truck equipped with a professional repair toolkit, Li Younan doesn’t have to bring additional repair tools.

After considering thoroughly, there aren’t many things he needs to bring along, but to ensure a comfortable rest at night, Li Younan upgraded the portable power source in his car, adding two more portable power units. With the original portable power source, he now has four kilowatts, which is more than enough to power a small car fridge.

He had this set of equipment fixed to one side of the trunk by a carpenter, making it look quite tidy and aesthetically pleasing.

Besides, he also brought a set of portable solar panels with a maximum output of 1800 watts. If the weather’s sunny, they can fully charge the battery in two hours, and when folded, they don’t take up much space.

In addition to these items, there were some camping supplies and gears.

Finally, to make the car more off-road oriented, he added a spade behind the door and placed a flag holder on the other side.

He often saw off-road convoys with a flag at the back, which looked pretty cool. This time, he could show off a bit too.

Li Younan wasn’t sure if he still missed anything.

After all, this was his first time engaging in long-distance travel, and once he gains experience, he’ll be clearer about what to bring.

He filmed the modification process and sent it to JK Long.

JK Long quickly edited the video and sent it back.

Li Younan checked it, found no issues, and uploaded the video.

The video ends with a shot of the car door closing, with the caption: ”Official departure tomorrow, stay tuned!”

Soon after the video was posted, people started urging updates: ”Although you’re departing tomorrow, can’t you update today?”

Even though Li Younan knew the fans were joking, he couldn’t help but be amused.

...

This time the convoy was meeting in Chengdu.

Li Younan first drove to find Ma Jing, who was staying in Chengdu.

It’s worth mentioning that Ma Jing is not from Sichuan; she and Chen Kunjie are from Chongqing.

After meeting Ma Jing, she directly took Li Younan to meet up with the rest of the convoy.

The meeting place was at a farmhouse in the suburbs of Chengdu.

When their cars arrived, there were already seven or eight cars parked in the courtyard of the farmhouse.

Considering the scale of their convoy traversing Western Sichuan, it was already a relatively large convoy.

There are two support vehicles, modified pickup trucks, both Great Wall Cannons.

Li Younan immediately recognized the support vehicles because the cargo beds were packed with various supplies.

Among the remaining cars, one was the leader’s vehicle, and the others were all participants like Li Younan, taking part in the cross-country trek. Naturally, most of the convoy members were novices, but judging by the equipment, it was quite luxurious.

Li Younan saw a Ford Raptor, a Ram TRX, a Leopard BB 5, and there were also a Jeep Wrangler and a Land Rover Defender.

Once Ma Jing arrived, she called the leader, and shortly after, a middle-aged man came out of the farmhouse, warmly welcoming them: ”Now everyone’s here!”

Ma Jing introduced the leader to Li Younan and then said to Li Younan, ”This is the leader of this cross-country trip. His name is Qi Shunyi. You can call him Old Qi.”

Qi Shunyi proactively shook hands with Li Younan, ”Welcome to join our cross-country convoy on this trip.”

Li Younan, of course, did not shy away and confidently shook hands with the leader.

The next step was lunch, everyone sitting around the same table. Meanwhile, the leader would explain some basic conditions and requirements for after the departure, and they would also introduce themselves.

Naturally, Li Younan sat beside Ma Jing. He noted that among the participants, besides him, Ma Jing, and an older man named Zhang who came alone, most were two per vehicle, typically paired as one man and one woman.

Old Zhang, clearly a stubborn old man, spoke without much thought. He glanced at Li Younan and Ma Jing, laughingly said, ”You youngsters going off-roading so early? Don’t break your gear and leave early!”

Ma Jing frowned and ignored Old Zhang.

Li Younan didn’t respond either, letting the words fall to the ground.

Seeing this, Qi Shunyi stood up and toasted everyone, saying, ”Firstly, I’m honored to be your leader for this cross-country trip.”

”For this cross-country route, there are three paths, spanning approximately four days and three nights, including one night of camping in the wild, while for two days we’ll stay in nearby towns.”

”The trip won’t involve extremely dangerous routes, but since it’s off-road, some uncontrollable factors might occur. I hope everyone will follow unified guidance when the time comes.”

”Of course, don’t be too worried; the Western Sichuan route generally isn’t very dangerous, and the path we’ve chosen is very suitable for new players to experience for the first time.”

”On this route, you can mostly see 80% of the geological landscape nationwide. Next, I’ll introduce our support personnel for this journey: our chef Old Zhou, our mechanic...”

He briefly introduced several support personnel, then invited each participant to speak and introduce themselves.
