Chapter 243: Chapter 118: Though You’re Clumsy, Ride More

Galloping along the riverbank, the cold river water sparkled in the corner of his eye.

The buildings of the Tianxia Grassland Scenic Area quickly faded into the background.

Beneath him was a surging force, the wind whistled past his ears, and before him, the golden sea of grass stretched endlessly.

At that moment, all of Li Younan’s distractions vanished, leaving only a pure sense of speed and control.

The vastness of this land seemed to be measurable by the horse’s hooves.

Watching Li Younan run afar, Dan Dan asked thoughtfully, ”Would you dare to ride that fast?”

Huang Xiaoyang remained silent.

Ahead, the river turned, revealing a sandy ground. Li Younan leaned back slightly, confidently gathered the reins in his hands, and gave a clear command, ”Whoa—!”

The horse understood immediately; its galloping momentum quickly subsided, its pace slowed, and it finally came to a steady stop at the edge of the sandy ground, elegantly taking a few steps with residual momentum.

Li Younan reined in the horse and looked back.

The path behind carved a clear trajectory across the grassland.

The horse beneath him quieted down, its mane slightly damp with sweat, and it gently lowered its head. He could feel its chest heaving violently and then gradually calming.

Sunlight penetrated the clouds, casting its rays on the winding river surface, and on him and the horse.

The initial unfamiliarity of riding was completely gone, leaving only an exhilarating sense of harmony and the freedom of conquering this vast land.

The wind was the only boundary at this moment.

Refreshing.

So refreshing.

...

All in all, today’s task was completed very smoothly.

Huang Xiaoyang and his fiancée took great photos, while he galloped freely on a sturdy, strong horse.

Even after dismounting, Li Younan felt he hadn’t had enough, and he could even sense the horse’s reluctant fondness towards him.

For a horse, it is born to run; its life’s purpose is to gallop the earth with a rider.

It’s rare to find a rider who makes it comfortable to run, especially in such a restless era.

From the horse’s perspective, every biped comes to ride it, and the vast majority, the vast, vast majority, are clumsy bipeds who have never ridden before, making them constraints and obstacles.

Yet under the intimidation of horse breeders and whips, it can only suppress its innate free spirit.

Thinking of it that way, it’s quite pitiful.

Thus, to encounter a top rider like Li Younan becomes all the more precious.

Li Younan sighed slightly, and before parting, he patted the horse’s head but didn’t say any sentimental words.

He thought the horse was very nice and quite pitiful too. If conditions allowed, he wouldn’t mind buying it, just because of this one ride and the horse’s longing gaze.

But since that condition was not available, he wouldn’t dwell on it sentimentally.

He left cheerfully.

However, what surprised Li Younan was that it was evident Huang Xiaoyang was not in high spirits either.

In contrast, Dan Dan was very pleased with the afternoon trip, chatting away excitedly in the car, sharing her feelings, and occasionally telling some terribly cold jokes.

Li Younan didn’t find them funny, but he chuckled a couple of times in response, as a courtesy.

And Huang Xiaoyang’s already low spirits before boarding the car lingered into this moment.

Li Younan thought Huang Xiaoyang seemed quite reluctant to part with the horse—he turned out to be someone with a fondness for animals.

It made sense, considering Huang Xiaoyang’s clumsy riding skills, having a horse that could cooperate with and adapt to him was quite rare. Having some nostalgia seemed normal.

Thinking this, while controlling the wheel, Li Younan said, ”If you miss the horse, why not buy it? It shouldn’t be hard for your family to set up a ranch, right?”

Realizing Li Younan was talking to him, Huang Xiaoyang furrowed his brow slightly because he didn’t quite understand what Li Younan meant. He sighed slightly and said, ”You won, but there was no mention of stakes earlier... go ahead, you say it.”

This left Li Younan startled. He blinked, glanced back at Huang Xiaoyang with an odd expression, saw Huang Xiaoyang’s serious demeanor, then shifted his gaze to Dan Dan beside him, finally turned back, and asked, ”Dan Dan, what’s your fiancé mumbling about? What did I win?”

Huang Xiaoyang furrowed his brows even tighter, a flicker of surprise passed through his eyes, then turned to confusion, then a realization, and finally a heavy sigh.

He... ignored what I said again.

Only Dan Dan understood what was happening the entire time, bowing her head with an unconscious chuckle.

The girl kept laughing, tears almost coming out from her laughter, her fiancé turned his head to look out the window with a stern face, while the driver, still puzzled, continued driving.

Outside the window, the scenery was just right.

Li Younan thought for a moment and said, ”No worries, although you ride a bit clumsily, just ride a few more times and you’ll get the hang of it.”

Dan Dan laughed even louder, and the next moment, Huang Xiaoyang rapped her on the head, abruptly stopping her laughter.

...

The next stop is Erguna.

When it comes to the itinerary, Li Younan has nothing to worry about.

Huang Xiaoyang has already arranged everything perfectly.

They settled into a hotel in Erguna and, after dinner, took a walk nearby, then rested directly.

In the hotel, jk Dragon sent a message asking what Li Younan had been up to lately, mentioning it had been a long time since he had sent any material over.

Seeing this message, Li Younan could only smile wryly.
