Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 222: Chapter 113: Stage Achievement

Due to the obstruction from the misty mountains, the satellite phone function on the Huawei phone had poor signal. I just tried to call Old Chen, and the two-minute conversation was intermittent, costing over 20 bucks, and still wasn’t clear.

To be on the safe side, and also to save some costs, using the previously established connection through the walkie-talkie is the most reliable.

Moreover, the satellite phone can only actively make calls, it can’t receive calls from others, making it too inconvenient for contact and can only be used confidentially in emergencies.

Qi Shunyi was planning to explain more to Li Younan, but Li Younan shook his head and said, ”You misunderstood me. I meant that as long as we contact Old Chen via walkie-talkie, it’s fine. He just needs to go back to the place where Old Zhang had trouble, and I can get in touch with him.”

Everyone was a bit stunned by this, and Qi Shunyi didn’t immediately grasp what Li Younan meant.

The place where Old Zhang had trouble is at least nearly 20 kilometers away from here.

Ma Jing’s eyes lit up, and she blurted out, ”Can your radio call that far?”

Hearing the word ”radio,” most people present were a bit confused, except for Qi Shunyi and Xu Chengcai, whose eyes flickered.

Xu Chengcai asked curiously, ”Did you install a radio in your car?”

Li Younan nodded: ”Yes, there’s a 50-watt one.”

Qi Shunyi was quite surprised. As an experienced off-roader, Qi Shunyi, although he didn’t have a radio operation certificate, had naturally come into contact with the group that plays with radios.

Honestly speaking, those who professionally play with radios, in some way, have a higher skill ceiling than an experienced off-roader like him.

He asked curiously, ”A 50-watt radio, that should at least be a B certificate, right?”

Li Younan didn’t hide it, nodding: ”I have a C certificate.”

He said this lightly, and the other novices present didn’t understand the value of a C certificate, but Xu Chengcai immediately showed an expression of surprise: ”C certificate?”

Ma Jing’s eyes widened even more: ”What? You have a C certificate? I thought you had a B certificate?”

Li Younan chuckled: ”When did I ever say I had a B certificate?”

Ma Jing then thought about it; indeed, Li Younan hadn’t explicitly mentioned what certificate he had last time.

The difference between a C certificate and a B certificate is not like the difference between the Nascent Soul Stage and the Divinity Transformation Stage, but like the difference between the Tribulation Crossing Stage and ascending to immortality’s difference, those are two different realms.

Ma Jing snorted, with glancing eyes: ”I didn’t know you’re so impressive!”

Seeing most people present were a bit confused, Xu Chengcai began to explain: ”Yes, theoretically, a radio can call anyone on Earth, even people on the International Space Station. You can think of it as an unlimited version of a walkie-talkie.”

”But, you must have a radio operation certificate to operate a high-power radio. A C certificate is the top-level operation certificate, with the difficulty of the exam being very high, only a few hundred people nationwide have it.”

After hearing this, everyone who again looked at Li Younan had some degree of surprise and admiration in their eyes.

The deputy leader, naturally the happiest, was quite relieved as well because returning for another journey was quite uncomfortable. Moreover, today’s planned route changed, so there was no rush, arriving at the lakeside around noon is just fine.

Twenty minutes later.

Under Li Younan’s guidance, everyone waited for a while longer, and all of their walkie-talkies heard Old Chen’s voice.

Indicating he caught up.

The slight displeasure brought by Old Zhang eating poisonous mushrooms was suddenly lifted at this moment.

Everyone got back in the car and slowly headed to the next destination.

The convoy drove rather slowly, and soon Old Chen’s car caught up with the main group.

After catching up with the main group, Old Chen finally understood that the route broadcasted on the walkie-talkie by Li Younan was thought to indicate only two to three kilometers away, unexpectedly, Li Younan started broadcasting from 20 kilometers away.

Upon hearing Xu Chengcai talk a bit about radio science, feeling emotional, he said, ”Looks like you are the most seasoned outdoor player among us!”

Qi Shunyi was the most satisfied. Although the walkie-talkie range is 3 kilometers, it’s often affected by weather, mountains, and trees, reducing the effective range or degrading communication quality. Li Younan set his radio with a relay function, turning his car into a communication hub for the convoy, ensuring that Qi Shunyi’s road condition updates are clearly transmitted to every car’s walkie-talkie.

On the walkie-talkie.

Qi Shunyi sincerely said, ”It would be great if the leader knew about radios, just that the radio certificate is too difficult. The questions on the A certificate are tough enough for me, let alone the B certificate... a B certificate is needed for using a 50-watt radio... Ma Jing, this guy you brought is really reliable!”

Everyone laughed heartily over the walkie-talkies.

...

Slightly past noon, they finally reached the lake Qi Shunyi talked about.

As Qi Shunyi mentioned, it really is a perfect place for camping.

The size of the lake is medium, with lush greenery around the shore. On the banks, there’s a large open space shaded by trees.

The girls in the convoy happily danced in circles and gathered for check-ins and pictures.

Qi Shunyi smiled and said, ”So, let’s rest here for the afternoon. Everyone, set up the tents; we’ll also begin preparing lunch and dinner soon. You can move around the area, but to ensure safety, everyone must bring their walkie-talkie when leaving the camp. It’s best if you move in pairs. Of course, my suggestion is not to stray too far from the camp. There are fish in this lake, and if you’re interested, you can join me for some fishing.”
