Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 208: Chapter 110: The Way of Crossing

It’s much closer from Wenchuan back to Anchuan County, and you can take the highway all the way.

You can get straight onto the highway in Wenchuan to Chengdu, and then return to Anchuan County from Chengdu.

They didn’t stay in Chengdu for long, just had lunch and decided to go back to Anchuan County.

This trip wasn’t too bad for Li Younan.

After all, he drove across most of China to get home, and this trip to Western Sichuan was just touring places within the province with decent roads; it really wasn’t that tiring.

But for his mom and the three ladies who don’t venture far often, this trip felt quite exhausting.

Li Younan dropped off Zhao Ruoxuan and her mother at their home.

Li Younan helped with the luggage, and Zhao Ruoxuan, for once, sensibly got down to help carry things.

Zhao Xiaofang was clearly pleased with this trip, saying, ”I’ve talked to her many times at home in the past with little effect, but taking us on this trip has influenced her greatly and she’s changed a lot. If there’s a chance like this in the future, we’d go out again.”

Li Younan smiled and chatted casually with Aunt Zhao.

After dropping them off, his mom started feeling sleepy too.

To be honest, his mom hasn’t slept well these past few days; compared to Anchuan County, the altitude over in Aba is a bit higher.

As soon as they got home, she couldn’t wait to catch up on sleep in her room.

Li Younan rested for a bit too, scrolling through his phone in his room.

The two videos from Jiuzhaigou garnered quite some traffic, steadily getting twenty to thirty thousand likes.

Though these videos didn’t include any promotional endorsements, they still brought in earnings, which came from platform traffic sharing.

Given his video creator profile, even without ads, relying solely on traffic sharing, he can earn a five-digit income.

The business at the hot pot shop is getting more and more prosperous, Chen Kunjie is considering taking over the upstairs space as well.

The upstairs was originally a dental institution, which didn’t work out, and it will be vacating by the end of the year.

However, adding in rent and renovation costs, it will require hundreds of thousands of investment.

Although they’ve seen quite a bit of cash over the past half month, they’re still slightly short of taking over the upstairs space.

Regarding this, Li Younan advised Chen Kunjie not to rush, saying, ”Don’t they have a few months left until they vacate?”

As for the neighboring foot massage parlor and KTV, they are still operating, so there’s no current plan to take them over.

Chen Kunjie plans to give a profit share to Li Younan by the end of the month, and every month onwards, they’ll discuss investment matters when they renovate next.

Li Younan indicated he had no problem with this.

Chen Kunjie helped estimate, and with the current income trend, by month’s end he can give Li Younan almost twenty thousand yuan.

Naturally, Chen Kunjie would take a bit more, as he’s both the chef and part-time manager, able to earn over thirty thousand.

This is the net profit after accounting for all expenses and ensuring high employee treatment.

Seeing this, operating a hot pot restaurant proves to be a profitable field.

Of course, outsiders needn’t be too envious, as food and beverage is one of the most tiring industries.

If it was pre-made foods, it might be a bit easier; like Chen Kunjie’s honest hot pot shop with freshly fried base ingredients, it’s indeed exhausting.

However, Chen Kunjie wasn’t as beleaguered as one might expect, his waitstaff and chefs actively shared the workload, and he also enjoyed it.

Li Younan felt relieved.

The impulsive decision to learn the Fat Donglai mode of management is already yielding results.

Brother Long chatted with him about the upcoming plans.

Speaking of plans, Li Younan found his mind blank.

What plans could he have while traveling?

Starting from Shanghai, it’s basically been a ”take it as it comes” journey.

Initially, there was a rough direction to visit some eastern coastal cities, where transportation is convenient, to tick some boxes, gain some skills as groundwork for embracing poetry and distant dreams.

But that barely counts as a real plan.

As Brother Long asked him where to go next, Li Younan really didn’t know how to answer.

Lying on the bed, he pondered, where should he go next?

He opened the map, there are so many places he could visit, but he can’t keep going with no plan, just going wherever he feels like.

Seeing no reply from Li Younan for a while, Brother Long asked again: ”Are you still there?”

Only then did Li Younan quickly reply: ”Why don’t I come find you, Brother Long.”

To his surprise, this time Brother Long didn’t outright refuse, but said: ”Now’s not the time. Wait till the time is right, then you can come find me.”

This made Li Younan chuckle, asking: ”What do you mean by the time is right?”

Brother Long replied: ”That’s none of your business.”

Li Younan asked: ”How long will that take? Can you give a hint at least?”

Brother Long casually said: ”Why are you so chatty? Annoying.”

With a slight sigh, Li Younan stopped messaging Brother Long.

Finally, Li Younan typed a line: ”I’ll contact you when I’ve decided where my next stop will be.”

Just as Li Younan put away his phone, preparing to nap, his phone rang again. He picked it up and saw a message from Ma Jing: she said, ”I’ve arrived in Anchuan County, where should I meet you?”

...

Li Younan met Ma Jing again at a parking lot in the county town.
