Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 230: Chapter 115: Rest After a Long Journey

However, due to his height and high center of gravity, Li Younan didn’t have time to show off before he and his skateboard fell into the lawn, which could be considered Jing Chaoyi’s revenge for when Li Younan saw her fall while roller skating.

Li Younan amusingly thought that next time they met, he might be able to use the skateboard to give her a scare.

After returning to the hotel, Li Younan sent some video footage he shot today to Brother Long, including videos from last night of him finding the black jade and the video of Ma Jing helping him shoot the carved black jade bracelet.

After a while, Brother Long messaged him, asking, ”Who helped you shoot this bracelet video?”

After all, that angle clearly showed someone getting into his car.

Li Younan asked, ”Why are you asking?”

Brother Long said, ”Your trunk is full of beds. If it was a guy who got in your car, it would feel a bit... you know.”

Li Younan replied irritably, ”What’s so ’you know’ about it?”

Brother Long quickly said, ”What are you thinking? I didn’t mean it like that. I meant, aren’t you worried their feet might stink?”

When Li Younan saw this, his mind froze for a moment.

What kind of thought process does this guy have?

Why such a peculiar angle?

Li Younan was speechless: ”It was a woman.”

After sending this message, Brother Long was silent for a while before slowly replying, ”Oh, a woman, huh? Did you sleep together that night?”

Although such topics can be conversation material between two guys, Li Younan wasn’t that bored and said plainly, ”No, we were just companions. She’s the short-haired girl who recruited me, and she’s appeared in previous video clips.”

Brother Long also replied plainly, ”Oh, her.”

Then he didn’t dwell on the topic further and instead said, ”Is that bracelet valuable?”

Li Younan found it a bit funny. Ma Jing had asked a similar question yesterday.

But dealing with Brother Long, Li Younan decided not to be too honest and boastfully said, ”Of course it’s expensive! This jade, it’s top-grade, black jade, black, you know? Black was the color only emperors could wear in the Qin Dynasty. Look at the quality of this black jade, so black that even a flashlight can’t penetrate it.”

Li Younan exaggerated a bit, not expecting Brother Long to believe him.

But to Li Younan’s surprise, Brother Long was silent for a moment before saying, ”Is it really that expensive?”

Li Younan asked, ”Why are you asking?”

Brother Long said, ”Nothing.” But after a while, he added, ”I was thinking if it wasn’t too expensive, I might buy it from you.”

Upon hearing this, Li Younan quickly said, ”Why buy it? I’ll just give it to you.”

Brother Long immediately refused, ”No, that’s too valuable.”

Li Younan chuckled silently. He discovered another trait of Brother Long’s: overly honest.

He had initially thought Brother Long was a tough guy, always smoking and ranting online. Now, his image could be updated; perhaps a bespectacled guy who sticks to principles, and a bit inflexible.

This kind of tough guy might act as a troll online but be timid and introverted in real life.

Imagining Brother Long’s image in his mind, Li Younan added, ”I was kidding; it’s not really expensive. I was just bragging.”

To his surprise, Brother Long retorted, ”You’re the one bluffing now. ’Black’ indeed means the color black.”

Li Younan was a bit speechless. However, since it was the first time Brother Long expressed interest in something, Li Younan decided to gift the bracelets to him, saying, ”No joking. The bracelet isn’t really expensive. I’ll mail it to you tomorrow.”

Previously, when signing the contract, Brother Long had once sent an address, located at an office building in Chengdu. Without detailed floor information, Li Younan guessed it wasn’t Brother Long’s home address, but probably his workplace.

Upon hearing this, Brother Long became slightly displeased: ”Who allowed you to decide on your own?”

Ignoring him, Li Younan casually replied with two words: ”Going to sleep.”

He then indeed tossed his phone aside, lay on the bed, and turned off the light.

...

Nothing more was said that night.

The itinerary for the second day was relatively more relaxed compared to the previous days.

Of course, this ”relaxed” was relative.

There were still over 200 kilometers to cover.

But today’s destination was Kangding.

The entire journey had only a few unpaved sections in the first half.

Also, it didn’t have the complex road conditions of before, mainly smooth dirt or gravel roads.

For their fleet of rugged off-road vehicles, that’s practically flat terrain.

The second half mostly consisted of highways.

After days on off-road tracks, hitting the highway felt exceptionally comfortable.

Such contrast gives a tangible sense of the comfort of asphalt roads.

Today’s journey had only one notable stop—Wuxu Sea in the Jiulong area.

The wheels rumbled over the last stretch of gravel road, with the engine’s rumbling echoing loudly through the forest.

The rest of the way had to be traveled on foot.

Past the village gate, a dirt path tightly enclosed by ancient trees stretched out in front.

The end of the tree-lined path opened into a meadow, resembling a casually spread yellow-green carpet.

A few yaks grazed with lowered heads, the gentle clinking of bells around their necks accentuating the emptiness of the landscape.

Wuxu Sea lay at the meadow’s end, appearing quite ordinary at first glance.
