Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 212: Chapter 111: First Day of Crossing Worlds: Mushrooms! [8,000 Words!]

Li Younan blinked and exchanged a glance with Ma Jing.

Ma Jing quietly put away her phone and hesitated before asking, ”Well, um, do you have any plans in the next few days?”

Li Younan said calmly, ”No big plans, is there anything?”

”Hmm hmm hmm,” Ma Jing said, ”Are you interested in cross-country travel?”

Li Younan silently looked up at the sky and answered nonchalantly, ”Cross-country travel, huh? I’ve never done it before, um, just so-so.”

Ma Jing leaned on the car window and said earnestly, ”Aren’t you a travel blogger? You have an off-road vehicle, actually, it’s quite interesting. You should give it a try.” She rambled on for a while, trying to persuade Li Younan.

Li Younan found it amusing, but he still put on an expression of ”whatever, just like that” and nodded, ”Hmm, sounds quite fun.”

Seeing Li Younan seemed a little tempted, Ma Jing seized the opportunity and said, ”Here’s the thing, our convoy just happens to have an open slot.” She hadn’t finished speaking when Li Younan interrupted, ”I just heard you on the phone, someone suddenly couldn’t make it, right? Need a... backup?”

Exposed so frankly by Li Younan, Ma Jing didn’t bother to pretend and nodded, ”That’s exactly the case. Our convoy needs to gather six vehicles to set off, otherwise, they’ll have to postpone.”

Ma Jing’s honesty actually surprised Li Younan a bit. He nodded, ”Hmm, and then?”

Ma Jing took a deep breath and solemnly said, ”So I’d like to invite you to join our convoy. As for the expenses, I can cover them for you. How about it, do you agree?”

Li Younan felt amused inwardly; he already had the intention to experience it, yet Ma Jing seemed to feel like he was getting a good deal.

But he also knew that Ma Jing was the kind of girl who did things decisively and independently, so he shouldn’t tease her anymore.

Li Younan said, ”It’s a bit awkward.”

Ma Jing thought Li Younan was going to refuse her and let out a slight sigh. Fortunately, the next moment Li Younan said, ”Well, okay then.”

Ma Jing’s face finally blossomed into a smile, she nodded, ”That’s great, it’s settled then. Can you promise you won’t back out?”

”No, I’m not that kind of person,” Li Younan said.

Ma Jing was in a good mood and immediately took out her phone to call the team leader there, ”Saying I’ve found my person here, hmm hmm. Not too bad in terms of efficiency, don’t bail on me this time. Time and place proceed as planned, alright!”

After hanging up, Ma Jing thought for a moment and added, ”There’s still two days; you can do some more preparation, like restocking supplies or something. Of course, there are personnel in the convoy who are specifically responsible for support. I’ll head back to Chengdu to make some preparations. By then, we can go together.”

After settling this matter, Ma Jing drove away.

...

In the evening, back at home, Li Younan casually mentioned the matter to his mom.

He didn’t speak in too much detail, just said he was setting off on another trip to Western Sichuan.

Mom didn’t ask much either, after all, there are certain risks associated with cross-country travel. If spoken too thoroughly, it might make mom worried.

Then, Li Younan returned to his room and mentioned it to jk Long.

jk Long’s reaction was much more excited. He replied, ”Sounds interesting, don’t forget to shoot videos. Oh, right, if you’re going outdoors, you can get a drone to capture some aerial footage; the effect after cutting will be even better.”

Then jk Long thought for a moment and said, ”You’re going with that Ford Bronco owner, right? Then I’ll cut that part about modifications into the video, just to let your fans know you’re going cross-country, sort of like a teaser to build up their anticipation.”

Finally, jk Long said, ”And surely you’ll make some improvements to your car, right? Capture all that on video, try to make it more comfortable so that the anticipation can heighten.”

Li Younan chuckled silently and replied, ”Why are you more excited than I am?”

jk Long paused before saying, ”I’m not excited, I just think your video will definitely be interesting. As your editor, I’m just a bit happy.”

Li Younan always felt jk Long was not being entirely truthful but didn’t bother to delve into it, so he replied with just ”Oh.”

jk Long messaged back, ”You go ahead and get busy.”

In the subsequent two days, Li Younan began preparing for departure.

First of all, the tires definitely need changing. The original tires on this car are road tires, while they’re also pretty high-quality premium road tires, they really can’t handle off-road unpaved sections well.

Ma Jing already sent over a rough route; Li Younan checked it, and the route is several hundred kilometers long, not too lengthy, and there aren’t many particularly difficult off-road sections, even some extremists drove sedans without fearing equipment failure while crossing it.

But to be safe, Li Younan still replaced the entire set with KO3.

The tires for the Land Cruiser are a bit bigger, 285 tires, plus a spare altogether 5, costing about 10,000 yuan.

With the all-terrain off-road tires fitted, the car looks noticeably more imposing.

The storage space doesn’t need further expansion; the Land Cruiser’s space itself is large enough, and with only Li Younan in the car, there’s even more space to put things.
