Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 231: Chapter 115: Rest After a Long Journey

Everyone walked over towards this spot.

The highland lake didn’t showcase the dazzling blue as expected; the surface was a somber ink green, reflecting the shadows of the entire forest on the opposite shore.

Getting closer allowed a clearer glimpse of the water’s nature: extremely clear, extremely transparent, with the stone patterns at the bottom distinctly detailed like the veins in a palm.

Honestly, by the time they arrived here, everyone was already somewhat fatigued.

Days of travel had left these first-time venturers facing such a scenery surprisingly numb to its appeal.

However, Li Younan was still in high spirits at this moment, still captivated by the scenery before him.

He scanned the group, feeling a bit amused inside.

Truth be told, his continued excitement here was closely tied to his physical constitution.

This spot’s altitude was around three thousand seven or eight meters.

Many people hadn’t stopped experiencing headaches since entering the highlands, but Li Younan had no such troubles.

Moreover, no matter how long he’d driven the previous day, a good night’s sleep always rejuvenated him, clearing away all impurities and aches, even refreshing exhausted nerves.

He thought, indeed, he is a travel sage.

On the return, he chose the eastern path, the sound of the stream gradually nearing.

The stream was slender, breaking into red and white fragments amidst the glimmering water.

Returning to the parking area, Ma Jing caught up with Li Younan, giving him a pat on the shoulder.

She asked, ”Hey, Li Younan, are you selling the bracelet you carved yesterday?”

Li Younan’s expression was somewhat peculiar; Brother Long had also wanted the bracelet yesterday.

Not rushing to respond, he asked, ”Do you like the bracelet?”

Ma Jing nodded, saying, ”Your bracelet is quite exquisite, some girls might like it.”

”Girls would like it?” Li Younan raised his eyebrows slightly, asking, ”Be specific, what type of girls would like it?”

Ma Jing thought for a moment and said, ”It’s more about the color, really; I quite like black.”

”Black doesn’t clamor to be seen like other colors; black is the color of solitude.”

”When the world’s light and sound become overwhelming, black is like a soft cloak that gently wraps one into their own space.”

Li Younan chuckled silently, ”Such a literary expression, you remind me of an old acquaintance.”

Ma Jing sighed slightly, ”So, are you selling it or not?”

Li Younan shrugged, ”Sorry, this morning I’ve already sent the bracelet away.”

Ma Jing didn’t seem too disappointed, simply nodding, ”Well, forget it then.”

...

The convoy continued onwards.

At this point, everyone’s enthusiasm wasn’t as high as before; each person appeared somewhat tired.

Thus, almost gone were the jests and excited chatter on the radio, with only occasional reminders from the support team.

Driving alone meant the car was very quiet.

Li Younan couldn’t help but recall the conversation with Ma Jing; would girls really like that bracelet?

During a break, Li Younan sent Brother Long a message: ”Brother Long, why do you want the bracelet?”

Brother Long replied, somewhat annoyed, ”I’m trying to sleep; can you not send me irrelevant messages?”

Li Younan shyly replied, ”Sorry, sorry.”

Brother Long responded, ”You’ve already sent it, why ask so much? I’m giving it as a gift, alright? Unless you’re having regrets; if you regret, I’ll return it to you.”

Li Younan quickly said, ”No, no, I’m just curious. Please continue resting, there’s nothing else.”

The journey involved stops and starts, yet they successfully reached Kangding.

Tonight was the team’s last dinner together, so it was somewhat grand, held in a private room at a hot pot restaurant.

Everyone had a great meal.

At the gathering, each person took turns sharing their gains and experiences from this trip.

Regarding this segment of the journey, everyone was quite satisfied.

Though everyone was tired, during the speeches, they all emphasized the positives.

Li Younan and Ma Jing didn’t say much.

Li Younan simply expressed joy at having this experience, considering it as opening a door to a new world.

Others also agreed, saying it marked their formal entry into the field.

Qi Shunyi concluded, also saying some formulaic words.

Overall, the atmosphere of the gathering was very good.

Just as it ended, there was a small twist.

Qi Shunyi alone approached Li Younan, handing him a business card, saying, ”Buddy, this is our Off-road Club’s card. Besides projects like leading newcomers, sometimes we organize more professional long-distance crossings, with challenging routes requiring collaboration among all convoy members, not just veterans guiding rookies. Everyone needs a certain level of professionalism and specialty. Our club has been lacking a reliable radio operator; if you’re interested, I’d like to invite you to join our club.”

Li Younan picked up the card, which said ”Dragon Tooth Cavalry.”

Li Younan accepted it with a smile, saying, ”Alright, I’ll consider it.”

After tonight, the next day would mark the journey back.

They reached Chengdu by afternoon.

Though Li Younan had driven for so long, he didn’t really feel exhausted; he thoroughly enjoyed being on the road.

Of course, he was well aware that his condition wasn’t something average people could achieve, given he’s an extraordinary figure.
