Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 228: Chapter 114: Leisurely Cross-Country Journey

Many people in the convoy experienced altitude sickness.

Fortunately, each car had oxygen prepared, and the person in the passenger seat could take a breath to ease the symptoms.

At times like these, the advantage of having only male players in the car became apparent, as they could take turns driving.

In this off-road section, those big guys with female companions were still hesitant to let them drive.

Just as Li Younan was thinking about a girl driving, his mind suddenly stirred.

He glanced at Ma Jing’s car through the rearview mirror, hoping that Ma Jing wouldn’t have any problems, when her weak voice came through the walkie-talkie: ”I... I can’t hold on anymore, I need to rest.”

Stop the car.

Qi Shunyi and Li Younan went to check on Ma Jing’s condition. Ma Jing’s face was a bit pale, weakly gripping the steering wheel.

Qi Shunyi frowned: ”You need to rest for a while, go take some oxygen. Otherwise, you might as well sit in someone else’s car going down, and let the assistant leader drive your car.”

Their support team was made up of two people per car, and everyone in the car could drive, just to deal with situations like this.

Ma Jing nodded.

During the break, the support team handed out bottled water and bread to everyone in the cars. Everyone could also take the opportunity to get out for a bit and look at the scenery south of Gongga Mountain...

It was a view that could be called breathtaking.

In early October, the southern slope of Gongga Mountain was already covered with thin snow on the high ridges.

The mountain was massive, steep, and silent, the iron-grey rocks exposed like bones, with deep valleys filled with a heavy sea of clouds, occasionally torn open by the wind to reveal a distant, blurred autumn scene—dots of dull gold or rusty red.

The air was thin and crisp, carrying a blade-like chill as it entered the nostrils.

It needed no embellishment; its mere existence carried an overwhelming majesty.

The mist at the mountain’s foot surged silently, swallowing and regurgitating a corner of the deep valley.

Everyone present was awestruck by such scenery.

Even Qi Shunyi, who had seen it many times, still marveled: ”To be honest, the colors are different every season. I suppose this is the meaning of our kind of travel, which looks like madness to others.”

After resting for a while, everyone quietly refueled with oxygen.

But at this moment, someone suddenly noticed... Li Younan’s face was rosy, and his spirits were high, and he was the only one who had never taken oxygen from the beginning.

At this point, the pale-faced Ma Jing stood next to Li Younan, forming a sharp contrast between the two.

Ma Jing also noticed this. She still felt unwell, but her expression was a bit odd as she looked at Li Younan and said, ”You... you seem quite healthy?”

”Ha...”

In the next stretch, Ma Jing got into Li Younan’s car, while her car was driven down by the assistant leader.

Once in the car, Ma Jing’s tense nerves immediately relaxed, clutching the oxygen as if it were her lifeline.

After taking in some oxygen for a while, she fell into a deep sleep.

In Li Younan’s car, she felt an unprecedented sense of security.

Before falling asleep, her mind kept recalling the scene when she was climbing the pass, feeling unwell yet having to concentrate fully on driving.

Her final thought was, being a driver... is really tiring.

After crossing the mountain, the altitude gradually decreased, and the road ahead became easier to drive.

They finally arrived in Jiulong before nightfall, and Li Younan’s check-in task was also activated.

This task wasn’t particularly difficult.

Jiulong is a county where Tibetans, Han, and Yi people live together.

Driving today was indeed a bit exhausting. Upon arrival, everyone quickly grabbed dinner before heading to their hotels to rest.

After camping out for two consecutive nights, resting in a hotel was much more comfortable, especially for the girls, as they couldn’t shower outdoors.

Li Younan wasn’t in a hurry to go to the hotel and instead started searching for people to photograph for the task on the street, carrying his camera.
