Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 549: Chapter 418: Nothing Left to Say

Anti-Piracy: To be replaced later.

Sitting to the right of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun, Su Yan leaned over with a curious expression and asked, ”Did you two know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately answered, ”Today is the first time we’ve met, did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s also my first time meeting her today,” Su Yan said, ”But I did get a shock this morning when I saw the trending topics.”

Zhou Yun put on an innocent face and said, ”It’s all made up by the paparazzi.”

”I remember you’re currently filming with Song Chi, right?” Lew Qingqing asked Su Yan, ”You should be the clearest on whether Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend or not.”

Hearing this, Su Yan’s eyes flickered slightly, and with a chuckle, she said, ”Although we are in the same drama crew, how could such matters be known to me.”

At first glance, there seemed to be nothing wrong with that statement, but in reality, it was still evasive. Lew Qingqing’s earlier remark was intended to get Su Yan to be a witness and clear up the rumors. However, Su Yan simply glossed over the issue, implying even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were dating, she wouldn’t know about it.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to emphasize again, ”I don’t know Teacher Song Chi at all.”

Lew Qingqing patted the back of Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”Alright, don’t worry, fans are smart these days, they won’t be led by the nose by the paparazzi, don’t worry.”

Zhou Yun showed Lew Qingqing a grateful smile.

To the side, Su Yan took out sunglasses from her bag and put them on herself.

Seeing this, Chen Quanying, who was chatting with someone else, blurted out, ”Su Yan, the sun has already set, why are you wearing sunglasses? Trying to act cool?”

With that comment, Su Yan almost cracked.

Zhou Yun keenly observed a twitch at the corner of Su Yan’s mouth.

She had heard that Chen Quanying was straightforward, and there were numerous rumors in the industry about her bluntly dealing with others. Seeing it firsthand today...it really was quite unique. At least, since Zhou Yun had entered the industry, it was the first time she had seen someone so direct in exposing someone else.

That is if not counting the inherent conflict between Lew Qingqing and Su Yan.

Su Yan took off her sunglasses, pouting and said with a look of grievance, ”Ah, Sister Ying, I’m just tired and wanted to sleep in the car for a bit.”

Even Su Yan didn’t dare to directly confront Chen Quanying.

Lew Qingqing would not waste this opportunity with her arch-enemy and added insult to injury, ”Then let’s switch seats, I just wanted to have a chat with Sister Ying. I’ve liked Sister Ying’s songs since school and even went to her concert with friends.”

Su Yan’s glare shot over instantly.

Chen Quanying looked at Lew Qingqing excitedly, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yeah, five years ago, at Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” Lew Qingqing said, ”Do you remember?”

”Of course, I remember my concerts,” Chen Quanying turned to Su Yan, ”Didn’t you want to rest? Since Lew Qingqing wants to switch seats with you, go ahead and move.”

Su Yan looked a bit embarrassed as if she was stuck high and dry.

She was being sent away.

Choked by her pride yet with no choice, Su Yan could only swallow her grievances and switch seats with Lew Qingqing.

Still being filmed, Zhou Yun managed a smile and called out, ”Sister Yanyan.”

Su Yan’s face stiffened as she nodded, put her sunglasses back on, and it was unclear whether she really fell asleep or not.

Taking this opportunity, Zhou Yun pulled out her phone, subtly turning her body so that Su Yan couldn’t see her phone screen, and texted Zhou Lan: Did you see this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? She probably didn’t mean it, right?

Zhou Yun: No, she did it on purpose because I didn’t support her against Lew Qingqing, and instead, I was getting cosy with Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Lan: They really don’t get along?

Zhou Yun: They openly clashed while we were changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: Don’t act rashly for now, finish recording the show first and remember the image you need to present on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to request a backup of the video.

Zhou Lan: Leave this matter to me, rest assured.

After giving clear instructions, Zhou Yun finally breathed a sigh of relief and turned to glance at Su Yan.

Su Yan suddenly spoke up, her voice indifferent: ”What is it?”

She really wasn’t asleep.

Zhou Yun looked perplexed, ”Huh? Sister Yanyan, what’s wrong?”

Su Yan snickered, said nothing, and fell silent again.

Zhou Yun helplessly smiled, turned to look out the window, and the smile in her eyes finally faded.

At the dinner location, everyone sat down at a large table, and the director and cameramen were all ready to go. There was a crowd of people standing in the empty space in front of the dining table, but in the camera’s view, only the artists were visible.

Su Yan’s face showed an expression of hunger, saying, ”I’m so hungry, I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately said, ”Me too, I’m really hungry. Director, there aren’t any more tasks, right? Can we just have dinner?”

The two girls looked at the camera with hopeful and pleading faces.

Pretty girls always tend to soften people’s hearts with those expressions.

But how could the director be softened?

”Of course... there is a task.”

Su Yan and Lew Qingqing both let out a sigh simultaneously, but they didn’t argue.

The men behind them also started to complain.

”Director, where’s the love? Where’s your love for us?”

”No more filming, no more filming, I declare this episode to be my last recording.”

”That’s too much!”

...

It’s all acting, it’s all for show, it’s all for the effect on camera.

Zhou Yun wasn’t the protagonist, she just needed to smile helplessly.

Smile beautifully, be a pretty vase.

”Xiao Yun, come sit next to me,” Lew Qingqing called out invitingly after taking her seat, ”Come here.”

So, Zhou Yun moved over.

”Lew Qingqing, are you doing this on purpose!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I already said I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun was startled, looking at Zhang Haichen unsure what to do.

She saw Lew Qingqing smiling triumphantly, saying, ”Hmph, stop corrupting our innocent Xiao Yun!”

Zhou Yun was dumbfounded.

Zhang Haichen sighed, facing the camera with a gloomy expression.

Zhou Yun understood, this was all for the variety show effect.

She hugged Lew Qingqing’s arm giggling.

Su Yan didn’t look too pleased with this scene, her glance towards Zhou Yun even carried a hint of disgust.

Of course, this bit of disgust avoided the camera.

Zhou Yun originally didn’t want to get involved in the feud between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but Su Yan’s kick in the afternoon had left Zhou Yun feeling irritated.

Regardless of how much Lew Qingqing’s warmth and affection in front of the camera was for show, Lew Qingqing at least didn’t treat her with the same attitude.

Zhou Yun was happy to show sisterly love towards Lew Qingqing, it would infuriate Su Yan.

During the subsequent filming, Zhou Yun and Lew Qingqing grew even more warm to each other, often linking arms or hugging.

They seemed as affectionate as best friends who had grown up together.
