Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 508: Chapter 389: On-Location Filming (Part 2)

”Xiao Ran, make your posture a bit sexier, the kind that’s tempting but hesitant.” Wan Zhiliang said.

Meng Ran looked troubled and asked, ”Director, what kind of sexy is ’tempting but hesitant’?”

Wan Zhiliang explained, ”Imagine a mature, bud-ready-to-blossom flower, that’s the idea. Sexy but not slutty.”

Meng Ran looked bewildered.

She would use seductive expressions and poses on stage too, but it seemed quite different from what Wan Zhiliang wanted.

”This is too much like a dancer. Even dancers don’t expose their sexiness completely in everyday life; they only exaggerate it when they’re working.”

Wan Zhiliang went over to correct Meng Ran.

Everyone else had some downtime.

Liu Yuqian stood beside her and took the initiative to ask, ”Xiao Yun, are you free tonight? Want to have dinner together?”

Zhou Yun looked at her in surprise and said, ”Sorry, I need to review the script tonight. I’ve got some thoughts and ideas about what the director just discussed, and I want to jot them down before I forget, sorry.”

Liu Yuqian smiled and waved her hand, saying, ”No worries, no worries.”

Zhou Yun responded, ”I’ll see when I’m free in the coming days and invite you all to dinner.”

”Oh, you don’t need to be so polite, how can I accept this?” Liu Yuqian said.

”It’s necessary. I just joined the crew, it’s a good chance to get to know you all.” Zhou Yun said.

”Then I’ll wait for your invitation.” Liu Yuqian replied.

Zhou Yun asked curiously, ”When did you guys join the crew?”

Liu Yuqian said, ”Meng Ran and I came three days ago, the director and Brother Shen had us learn some hair washing techniques in advance. By the way, Xiao Yun, maybe you should find a teacher to learn as well? I see you have quite a few scenes where you help people wash their hair.”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”No worries, I’ve already learned it. I took some time off before joining the crew to prepare.”

”Wow, no wonder you’ve won awards, such a great work attitude,” Liu Yuqian remarked, ”I’ve been in many productions and worked with many actors, and not many are as dedicated as you.”

Zhou Yun laughed, saying, ”Really?”

Liu Yuqian continued, ”Seriously, I’ve even met actors who don’t memorize their lines and just spout random dialogues, all fixed by dubbing later.”

Zhou Yun raised her eyebrows in surprise.

She had heard about such actors in the industry, but she had never encountered one herself.

Of course, she hadn’t been involved in many productions, so not encountering such bizarre characters was normal.

...

Zhou Yun wasn’t filming a movie for the first time, but it indeed was her first time in such a big commercial production.

All morning, they shot the scene where Shen Yao flips off the motorcycle. Everyone witnessed this moment and each person ”fangirled” over it.

Professor Yan Zhenxi had only one line; while the girls were daydreaming, she walked out and yelled in a landlady’s tone: ”Are you all just going to stand here waiting to be fed?”

The whole morning passed like this.

One shot in the film, lasting less than a minute.

Zhou Yun couldn’t remember how many takes they shot, repeating over and over, from wide shots to extreme close-ups, particularly the extreme close-ups, which were done over twenty times.

By the end, Zhou Yun didn’t know how to make expressions anymore; her facial muscles seemed to have stiffened.

At noon, the production crew temporarily stopped for a break.

Zhou Yun went for lunch.

Canteen.

Cao Jun had already gotten their meals ready.

Zhou Yun sat down with Zheng Xiaojue.

Zheng Xiaojue looked at Zhou Yun’s tired face and asked, ”Sister Xiao Yun, do you want to rest in the car for a bit?”

The company had prepared a trailer for Zhou Yun with all kinds of living essentials, including a bed.

Zhou Yun nodded and agreed.

She didn’t have much appetite and ate slowly.

Suddenly, Shen Yao came over with a plate and sat next to her, asking, ”How’s the food? Are you getting used to it?”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”It’s quite good, better than what I’ve had in other productions.”

”We hired a chef specially,” Shen Yao said a bit proudly.

Zhou Yun looked at the food on Shen Yao’s plate and asked, ”Didn’t your wife prepare something special for you today?”

Shen Yao replied, ”She is busy with something and not at the set, so I had to come to the canteen.”

Zhou Yun gave a nod, thinking to herself that was why she hadn’t seen her today.

Shen Yao said, ”She’s a bit sensitive and sometimes speaks carelessly. If she says something that makes you uncomfortable, please be patient with her.”
