Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 511: Chapter 390: The Unruly Youth (Part 2)

”Xiao Ran, you need to make your posture a bit more sexy, with that seductive ’speak yet withhold’ allure,” Wan Zhiliang said.

Meng Ran looked troubled and asked, ”Director, what kind of allure is the ’speak yet withhold’ sexy?”

Wan Zhiliang said, ”Imagine a mature, budding flower, that’s the idea; it’s sexy without being flagrant.”

Meng Ran looked utterly confused.

She would also use sexy expressions and poses on stage, but it seemed completely different from what Wan Zhiliang wanted.

”This is too much of a dancer. Even dancers don’t fully reveal their sexiness in everyday life. They only do so deliberately when they are working.”

Wan Zhiliang went over to correct Meng Ran.

Everyone else had a moment of downtime.

Liu Yuqian stood by her, took the initiative to speak, saying, ”Xiao Yun, do you have time tonight? Shall we have dinner together?”

Zhou Yun looked at her in surprise and said, ”Sorry, I need to read the script tonight. The director’s analysis earlier gave me some ideas and thoughts that I want to jot down, in case I forget. My apologies.”

Liu Yuqian smiled and waved her hand, saying, ”No worries, no worries.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I’ll see when I’m free in the next few days and invite you all out for a meal.”

”Oh come on, no need to be so formal with us, how could I take you up on that,” Liu Yuqian said.

”It’s only proper. I’ve just joined the crew, so it’s a good chance to get to know everyone,” Zhou Yun said.

”Then I’ll wait for your message,” Liu Yuqian said.

Zhou Yun curiously asked, ”When did you guys join the crew?”

Liu Yuqian said, ”Meng Ran and I came here three days ago, the director and Brother Shen had us start learning hair washing techniques early. By the way, Xiao Yun, maybe you should quickly find a teacher to learn too? I see you have a lot of scenes where you help people wash their hair.”

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”No worries, I’ve already learned. I had some time off before joining the crew and went to get prepared.”

”Wow, no wonder you win awards, your work ethic is so impressive,” Liu Yuqian said, ”I’ve acted in a lot of shows and worked with many actors, but not many are as dedicated as you.”

Zhou Yun laughed, saying, ”Really?”

Liu Yuqian: ”For real, I’ve even encountered actors who don’t memorize lines at all, just spouting whatever, completely relying on post-production dubbing.”

Zhou Yun raised her eyebrows in surprise.

She had heard of such actors in the industry, but she herself had never come across any.

Of course, she hadn’t shot many films, so it was normal that she hadn’t encountered these oddities.

...

Zhou Yun wasn’t shooting a film for the first time, but it was indeed her first time shooting such a big-budget commercial production.

The entire morning was spent shooting Shen Yao flipping off his motorcycle and everyone witnessing this scene, each having a ”fan girl” moment.

Teacher Yan Zhenxi had only one line, which was to come out while the girls were dazed and, in a landlord’s tone, bellow, ”What are you all standing around here for, waiting to be fed?”

The morning passed just like that.

One shot, in the film lasting less than a minute.

Zhou Yun couldn’t remember how many takes she had done, shooting over and over again, from the full scene to close-ups, especially extreme close-ups, at least more than twenty times.

By the end, Zhou Yun no longer knew how to express herself; her facial muscles felt almost stiff.

At noon, the crew temporarily stopped working to rest.

Zhou Yun went to have lunch.

The cafeteria.

Cao Jun had already grabbed them their meals.

Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue sat down.

Seeing Zhou Yun look a bit tired, Zheng Xiaojue asked, ”Sister Xiao Yun, do you want to go to the car and rest for a bit at noon?”

The company had prepared a motor home for Zhou Yun, with all sorts of living necessities and even a bed.

Zhou Yun nodded, agreeing.

She had little appetite and ate slowly.

Suddenly, Shen Yao came over with his plate and sat down beside her, asking, ”How’s the food? Are you getting used to it?”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”It’s pretty good, better than what I’ve had on other crews.”

”We hired a chef specially,” Shen Yao said with some pride.

Zhou Yun looked at the food in Shen Yao’s plate and asked, ”Didn’t your sister-in-law make you a special meal today?”

Shen Yao said, ”She had some business and isn’t with the crew, so I had to come to the cafeteria.”

Zhou Yun made an ”oh” sound, thinking that explained why she hadn’t seen her today.

Shen Yao said, ”She’s a bit sensitive and sometimes doesn’t watch her words, so if there’s anything she says that makes you uncomfortable, please be more tolerant.”
