Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 538: Chapter 410: School Violence (Part 2)

Zhou Yun laughed in bafflement.

”Did she say that herself?”

”Yes, I also met that girl this afternoon. You know, my company never reports rumors without evidence and basis. Since this revelation involves you and it’s negative news, we were even more cautious. We specially invited this person over and had her sign a commitment. Also, my colleagues went to interview your high school teachers. Of course, your teachers all denied this matter.”

”I understand, thank you, Sister Zhi.” Zhou Yun took a deep breath. She knew that the other party was making this call not only because of their past relationship but also risking quite a bit. If her company found out, the penalty might be the least of issues; she could even risk losing her job.

”Sister Zhi, stay out of this matter, it’s slander, it’s a case of a thief crying stop thief.” Zhou Yun said, ”No worries, let her talk, I will refute it one by one.”

Sister Zhi also laughed over the phone, ”I’m relieved to hear you say that. I’ve dealt with you before and didn’t think you were that kind of person. Besides, the classmate I met today also didn’t give me a good impression, it felt like she was just trying to profit off this matter.”

”I know, thank you for trusting me, Sister Zhi.” Zhou Yun said, ”I just finished a New Year’s concert, I’m at the airport, heading back to the set to film. When I’m done filming and back, I’ll treat you to a meal, please honor me with your presence.”

Sister Zhi laughed heartily and said: ”Of course.”

After hanging up, Zhou Yun immediately contacted Zhou Lan.

At this moment, Zhou Yun once again appreciated how fortunate it was to have a reliable agent, one who devoted all their energy into their work, into her.

Long before, Zhou Lan had made her a list, from elementary to university, from family situations to friendships, from fights to deception, making her recall her past step by step, marking all the risky pasts, and preparing various contingency plans in advance to prevent situations like now.

Zhou Lan said, ”The person from high school who fought with you... I remember, the one who was jealous of you getting the top grade and therefore hit you, right?”

”Um.”

”At that time, she and I stayed in the same dormitory. Because every time it was me who topped the class, she could only be second, so someone called her ’eternal second’. One time I had a little conflict with her, she got enraged and made a move but she was no match for me. After I knocked her down, she complained saying I started the fight.”

Zhou Lan: ”I remember this. After you told me about it, I called your classmates and the class teacher to ask if they remembered, but no one did.”

”Um, it was after school, only the two of us were there, nobody saw.” said Zhou Yun, ”That’s why she now dares to come out and keep reversing the blame.”

”I’ll go investigate.” said Zhou Lan, ”The report comes out tomorrow, I need to prepare in advance. It hasn’t come up before and suddenly it’s emerging now, there has to be some inducement.”

”Sister Zhi said she wants to make money off the revelation.”

”I only trust my investigation results.”

”Okay.” Zhou Yun said, ”Then I’m boarding the plane now.”

”Um, I’ve received quite a few calls today asking you to comment on Meng Ran’s stage accident, I said you were on the plane, rushing to the set overnight, unreachable.” said Zhou Lan, ”If any familiar journalists contact you asking about it, you know how to respond?”

”I’ll just say I’m not aware of the details of the incident, you reminded me, I’ll message Meng Ran before boarding.”

After hanging up, Zhou Yun messaged Meng Ran: Xiao Ran, I need to rush back to the set to film, can’t visit you at the hospital, take good care of yourself and recover soon.

Meng Ran almost instantly replied: Sister Xiao Yun, you still remember me! I’m flattered, thank you, Sister Xiao Yun, be safe on your way. I’m not in serious trouble, the doctor has checked and even did imaging, it’s just a sprain, no fractures, I’ll be fine with some rest.

Zhou Yun: That’s good to hear, kudos to your dedication. Got to meet a different, truly strong side of you today!

Meng Ran: Thank you for your encouragement, Sister Xiao Yun.

Zhou Yun sent a heart emoji.
