Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 535: Chapter 409: Skimming the Surface

When it came time for the real performance, Zhou Yun felt unexpectedly calm inside.

It was indeed still cold.

Especially the clothes she wore, they were not ”warm” at all.

She draped a black, thick down jacket over herself, waiting for the staff to help adjust her earpiece and handed her the microphone.

Zheng Xiaojue suddenly widened her eyes: ”Sister Xiao Yun, stop licking your lips, you’re going to lick off all the lipstick you just applied!”

Zhou Yun realized it and was stunned with wide eyes.

Zheng Xiaojue took out the lipstick and reapplied it for Zhou Yun.

The host’s voice was already ringing out in front of the stage.

Guided by the staff, Zhou Yun stood on the lifting platform.

It was time to go on stage.

Zheng Xiaojue: ”Fighting! Sister Xiao Yun!”

The host had already left the stage.

Even below the stage, Zhou Yun could hear the cheers and screams from outside, swelling like a wave.

Song Chi was at the other end.

They could still see each other.

Zhou Yun saw Song Chi glance at her.

Zhou Yun took a deep breath.

The music had started, and there were footsteps on the stage, the sound of dancers beginning to dance.

The lifting platform began to move, slowly ascending.

Zhou Yun took a deep breath.

At this moment, Zheng Xiaojue suddenly shouted: ”Sister Xiao Yun, your clothes! Quickly take off your clothes! You haven’t taken off your clothes yet!”

Zhou Yun snapped out of it and opened her eyes.

What clothes hadn’t she taken off?

She looked down and thought, ’I’m dressed just fine.’

She was confused for a moment before realizing she hadn’t taken off the long down jacket she wore for warmth.

Zhou Yun panicked and hurriedly took off the jacket, but by this time the lift had already ascended halfway.

She frantically took off her down jacket and aimed to hand it to Zheng Xiaojue.

But by this time, the gap between the ascending stage and the main stage was very small, making it impossible for Zhou Yun to pass the jacket to Zheng Xiaojue.

Zhou Yun’s head buzzed, and at that moment, she was crouching on the stage, back to the audience. From the audience’s view, Zhou Yun’s figure could already be seen.

The audience erupted into even louder cheers.

There was no time for Zhou Yun to hesitate, she immediately dropped the down jacket, picked up the microphone lying on the stage, listened to the intro in her earpiece, and briskly turned to face up.

...

In the director’s team, Director Zhang saw Zhou Yun stand up and he let out a long sigh of relief.

Several camera positions were on site, and after Song Chi appeared, Zhou Yun hadn’t been seen assuming her position on the lift until her crouched figure appeared on the screen.

Director Zhang responded quickly and immediately switched the camera to Song Chi.

”Keep the live camera on Song Chi, don’t switch to Zhou Yun,” Director Zhang commanded.

”Received.”

Director Zhang frowned and stared at the camera aimed at Zhou Yun, asking, ”What is Zhou Yun doing crouching on the ground?”

”It seems she forgot to take off her down jacket, just took it off,” said someone nearby.

Director Zhang: ”...”

He said, ”Switch in Zhou Yun’s earpiece immediately, tell her not to worry... never mind, it’s not needed.”

In the camera, Zhou Yun had already put the down jacket on the ground, picked up the microphone, and stood up.

Director Zhang breathed a sigh of relief and said, ”Alright, switch to camera three.”

Zhou Yun finally appeared in the live broadcast.

She was smiling, her eyes twinkling like stars, as she waved to everyone.

”She’s truly beautiful,” a producer beside remarked.

In the camera, Zhou Yun, her long wavy hair cascading down, fell over her exposed shoulder blades, the stage background dominated by an ocean blue, as she stood in a wine-red outfit amidst this blue, creating a visually comforting contrast.

Zhou Yun had always been known for her refreshing and sweet image in public, and today’s look added a vibrant allure of classic Hong Kong style to her usual basis, exuding a majestic beauty.

Director Zhang said emotionlessly, ”She is indeed beautiful, but it’s all ruined the moment she opens her mouth.”

As Director Zhang’s words fell, Zhou Yun raised the microphone and began to sing.

As Zhou Yun herself had said before, she would definitely not mess up at such a moment—she dared not stay silent.

As her voice intertwined with Song Chi’s, filling the venue, the cheers from the audience reached a climax.

Both Zhou Yun and Song Chi’s fans knew, as Binjiang TV and Yuehai Network had been actively promoting it these days—this was Zhou Yun and Song Chi’s first public appearance together as a couple.

So, when the two of them appeared on stage together, starting to sing at that moment, their fans were like ignited, screaming wildly.
