Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 537: Chapter 410: School Violence

On the way to the airport, Zhou Yun turned on her phone and searched her name, wanting to see everyone’s opinions on her recent performance.

As expected, what most people were focused on was the first joint performance between her and Song Chi since their relationship was revealed.

Especially their fans.

A lot of pictures of Zhou Yun and Song Chi holding hands tightly and smiling at each other appeared under her private messages and Weibo comments. They were all screenshots taken by fans from the live broadcast.

Zheng Xiaojue was also online reading comments, laughing uncontrollably.

”Xiao Yun, what are you laughing about?” Zhou Yun asked.

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”Some netizens made a spoof video of you and Brother Chi singing together. It’s quite funny.”

”...” Zhou Yun didn’t want to see it upon hearing this, as it definitely wasn’t anything good.

”But, Sister Xiao Yun, look, you sang really well tonight. No one said you sang badly,” Zheng Xiaojue said. ”I told you, you’re worrying over nothing. People won’t have such high expectations for a non-professional singer.”

Zhou Yun sighed, ”But Song Chi sang really beautifully. I even saw someone commenting that it would be great to have just the pure audio of Song Chi’s part. This person said that when I sang with Song Chi, it was like a professional singer’s album that had degraded—off tune and distorted.”

”Well, Brother Chi has participated in competition shows before and can sing well. How can you compare yourself to him?” Zheng Xiaojue defended. ”Singing really depends on talent, honestly. This person’s words are so annoying.”

”What’s there to be annoyed about? I really can’t sing well. Once I’m on stage, if I’m not good, that’s the ultimate sin.” Zhou Yun sighed again. ”I should take fewer of these singing gigs in the future, or better yet, try not to take any at all.”

Zheng Xiaojue exclaimed, ”Sister Lan wouldn’t agree, and neither would your fans. You’re always in the film crew; if you also avoid these events, then people will see even less of you. You know, when I look at short videos, many are titled ’Zhou Yun reappears after a long absence’ and many of your fans ask every day in your super-topic about when you have new schedules or new materials.”

Fans always want to see more information about the people they like.

If they like someone, they can never get enough; if they don’t, even a glimpse is too much.

Zhou Yun thought about the distance between herself and her fans—neither close nor far.

Unlike others, her career breakthrough over the last two years didn’t really show much influence from her fans.

Everyone says she’s popular, but few say she has huge fan traffic.

Perhaps it’s because, in a sense, her die-hard fans aren’t as numerous as those typical fan traffic.

Do they also want to see new traces of her every day?

Zhou Yun seldom posts about her personal life on social media, whether on Weibo or in friend circles.

She isn’t someone who resists the internet and social interactions. She likes to watch, but isn’t keen on sharing about herself.

Perhaps it’s a need for a sense of inner security.

Her past experiences have shaped her character today, Zhou Yun can’t change just by saying so, and in her current profession, excessive exposure doesn’t seem like a bad thing.

Water can carry a boat but can also capsize it.

The more you speak, the more mistakes. The more you do, the more errors.

Being too frequently in the public eye isn’t good.

Zhou Yun reached the airport, hurriedly completed the check-in procedures, and suddenly a familiar reporter called her.

This was someone she had added on WeChat during the promotion of ”Life”, a main writer for a mainstream film and television magazine, not just any paparazzi.

The call wasn’t about Meng Ran, which surprised Zhou Yun.

That’s what she thought when she picked up the call.

The person said, ”Xiao Yun, I’ve received a tip-off related to you. I was thinking of blocking it, but my boss has directed that it be reported, and I can’t stop it. I can only give you a heads-up so you can prepare to deal with it.”

”Uh?” Zhou Yun was startled.

”Did you have a confrontation with another girl in school a while ago and ended up sending her to the hospital?”

Zhou Yun was momentarily disoriented, then she remembered.

That did happen.

”Apparently, that girl now openly claims that you used to bully others in high school because you had good grades and were favored by teachers, which made you arrogant and often physically abusive.”
