Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 547: Chapter 416: Troubled Waters Stir Again

”Cut! That’s a wrap!”

Xue Qin’s voice rang out, and for a moment, no one on set even reacted.

Everyone was prepared for Xue Qin to call for a retake.

Zhou Yun wiped away her tears with the back of her hand, surprised as she looked towards Xue Qin.

It’s over?

Xue Qin held a megaphone and said, ”Alright, we’ll stop here for today, work’s done.”

Once she finished speaking, she got up and left.

Zhou Yun and a few others exchanged confused glances.

After hesitating for two seconds, Zhou Yun still followed her.

Xue Qin had gone into the restroom, and after thinking it over, Zhou Yun just washed her hands and stood outside the restroom waiting for her.

After a while, Xue Qin came out.

”What are you doing standing here?” Xue Qin looked surprised to see Zhou Yun standing by the restroom door.

Zhou Yun carefully examined Xue Qin’s eyes, making sure she hadn’t been crying alone, before saying, ”You suddenly ran out just now, I thought you were angry.”

”Angry?” Xue Qin looked calm, shaking her head, ”Why would I be?”

”We weren’t very nice to you just now,” Zhou Yun continued, then quickly tried to make amends, ”It’s mainly because we’ve been shooting all day, everyone’s tired, so we were a bit irritable. Don’t be too mad.”

Xue Qin laughed in astonishment.

”What are you talking about? I’m not mad,” Xue Qin said, ”I know you were angry, I just wanted to make you angry.”

”Ah?” Zhou Yun was utterly unable to understand Xue Qin’s thinking, looking puzzled.

Xue Qin said, ”All of you are too good at acting, every time the performance is solid, with plenty of tension. But for ordinary scenes, that’s fine. However, this scene is the only one where your characters lose control emotionally and reveal their true feelings in the play. Even if the anger, irritation, and fatigue are performed authentically, they’re still performed, not real. I wanted you to actually be in a state of genuine anger, genuine impatience, and true exhaustion. Acting on top of that, the result is much more impactful.”

Zhou Yun felt enlightened by Xue Qin’s words as if she had been hit by a realisation.

Was this Xue Qin’s intention?

”I thought that...”

”You’ve all worked hard today, go back and rest for now, we’re still shooting tomorrow.” Xue Qin patted Zhou Yun’s shoulder, ”I’m off.”

At this moment, Xue Qin again seemed so magnanimous.

Zheng Xiaojue was waiting for her on the set, and as soon as she saw her, she immediately ran over, her expression anxious, saying, ”Sister Xiao Yun, there’s trouble!”

After performing for an entire day, Zhou Yun was feeling quite sensitive and fragile, and here Zheng Xiaojue was running up to tell her there’s trouble.

Zhou Yun had no idea what had happened and asked with confusion, ”What’s wrong?”

Zheng Xiaojue truly looked worried and said, ”Ten minutes ago, Sanliu Media released another interview video, where another guy claiming to be your high school classmate said you were the reason he was forced to drop out, and now the internet is blowing up.”

The moment she finished speaking, Zhou Lan’s phone call came through.

Zhou Yun’s first reaction wasn’t anything else; it was that she was finally about to go back to the hotel to sleep, and now this perfect moment was ruined.

Another problem to deal with.

Zhou Yun was annoyed, but there was no helping it.

She really wanted to post on Weibo, with just one sentence: Could the rumor-mongers let me get some sleep before I respond?

She suppressed the irritation in her heart, answered the phone, and without waiting for Zhou Lan to speak, she said directly, ”It’s fake, not true, his dropping out had nothing to do with me.”
