[Tainted Land (Green, Magic Scroll): Use on a certain location to designate an area as Tainted Land, suitable for Undead, Demons, and some special and mysterious beings to survive (3/3).]

[Note: Tainted land is a treasure to certain races.]

[Tainted Treasure Map (Green): A treasure map stained with some tainted blood. Its original owner has abandoned it, but once opened, the treasure can still be found, seemingly designated for a certain powerful figure.]

Looking at the information of these items in front of him, Gu Xi just smiled lightly.

This time, nothing particularly good came out of the Mysterious Treasure Chest.

Among the only two green-quality items, only the Tainted Land had some use for Gu Xi.

It should be used during the game process for setting up a temporary camp.

For Gu Xi, who can summon Death City at any time, its usefulness is not significant.

The Tainted Treasure Map, it’s so heavily polluted that even its original owner abandoned it.

Thinking of this, Gu Xi walked towards the Wudou Family.

Before Gu Xi could knock on the door, Wudou Minami opened it and invited him in.

”Gu Sang, welcome back.”

”Minami, is everything ready?”

”I’ve already contacted a real estate agent, so we can go there anytime. But Gu Sang, don’t you want to eat something this morning?”

”No need, let’s go.”

Thinking of the small amount of food at the Wudou Family, Gu Xi shook his head.

Even if he starved, he wouldn’t want to eat that bird food.

Wudou Minami was unaware of Gu Xi’s inner thoughts. Once he confirmed today’s plan, she gently closed the door and, carrying a palm-sized handbag, took Gu Xi’s hand and led him out.

Looking at the tiny bag that couldn’t even hold a key, Gu Xi’s face twitched involuntarily.

”What’s that bag for?”

Wudou Minami thought for a moment and said cautiously, ”To be cute. Is that not okay? Or should I change bags?”

”Forget it; it doesn’t matter much. Let’s go.”

Gu Xi thought about it and realized Wudou Minami didn’t need to bring anything. Whether she carried a bag or not was irrelevant.

Thus, the two left the house, with Wudou Minami leading the way and Gu Xi following behind. After several turns, they arrived at the subway station behind the neighborhood.

Seeing the conspicuous subway station, Gu Xi was speechless.

”I’ve walked past here so many times, and I never noticed it.”

”It’s better not to notice. There are taboos inside the subway station. Don’t mess around later. You must follow me in everything.”

Seeing Wudou Minami’s serious expression, Gu Xi nodded in agreement.

He understood this world had many mysteries. During the day, they ruled supreme, and any carelessness could lead to fatal disasters.

Even as powerful as Gu Xi was, he wouldn’t take any chances in this area.

After entering the subway station, Wudou Minami led Gu Xi down the stairs instead of using the elevator. Although it took longer, Gu Xi felt safer.

He also noticed Wudou Minami counting the steps as she descended, skipping the fifteenth step entirely.

After skipping it, she glanced back at Gu Xi, signaling he should do the same.

Gu Xi mimicked Wudou Minami’s actions and discovered something: since entering the subway station, Wudou Minami hadn’t spoken a word. If she wanted to communicate, she used only her eyes or gestures.

Instantly understanding, Gu Xi realized this subway station had a no-talking taboo.

Unaware of the reason, he simply followed suit.

Upon reaching the underground space, Gu Xi noticed the subway station floor was covered in blood.

The blood seemed dry, but stepping on it felt sticky.

Being an Undead Mage himself, Gu Xi wasn’t particularly bothered by this.

But Wudou Minami struggled with it, constantly covering her mouth for fear of accidentally exclaiming inside the subway station.

Unable to bear seeing her in distress, Gu Xi picked her up.

He covered her eyes, reassuring her she wouldn’t have to see anything.

However, Wudou Minami didn’t fully accept Gu Xi’s kindness. Though he carried her, she removed his hand from her eyes.

As long as her feet weren’t touching the ground, Wudou Minami could manage. Pointing directions, Gu Xi followed accordingly.

Soon enough, they reached the subway platform.

Attempting to approach, they were stopped by Wudou Minami.

Following Wudou Minami’s guidance, they halted before a yellow line.

Wudou Minami didn’t let Gu Xi move forward, only instructing him to stand beyond the yellow line.

Thinking it concerned safety, Gu Xi complied.

Soon, the subway arrived—an old, square-headed train that looked centuries old.

As the train approached, despite the few people around, it felt crowded.

Gu Xi wanted to resist the sensation, but Wudou Minami held him back.

Understanding immediately, Gu Xi realized it was best not to fight the pressure, letting himself get pushed onto the train by the invisible crowd.

Once inside, he saw it was an entirely different scene from outside.

Gu Xi noticed all kinds of demons and ghosts in the train.

Creatures like train wolves and mysterious specters were everywhere.

Yet, they seemed oblivious to Gu Xi, ignoring other people’s gazes as they wreaked havoc in the carriage.

Sitting down wasn’t any better. The windows were stained with fresh blood and sometimes adorned with fingers and faces.

It’s unclear how these spectral beings ended up splattering themselves on the glass.

The mingling of the crimson outside and the pink inside created a unique atmosphere.

Feeling unsettled, Gu Xi dared not act rashly. He held Wudou Minami close, attentively watching the subway’s station list, ready to disembark at any moment.
