Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 357: Chapter 355: The Success and Failure of Undead Transformation

After placing three bodies into the Undead Transformation Array, Gu Xi’s gaze fell upon the corpse of the child.

Among these bodies, it was the child’s corpse that was the most difficult to process.

In the Undead he knew, there was no suitable form for such a small stature.

As Gu Xi made his move, when the Soul Summoning Skill landed on this child, his actions noticeably paused.

And it was this pause that caused a slight fluctuation in the originally smooth Mana infusion.

This fluctuation instantly detonated the three corpses.

Amidst the scene of flesh flying, the skeletons of the three corpses actively flew together and quickly pieced themselves together.

Finally, these bones floated in the air, forming a large skeletal creature comprised of many bones.

This large skeletal creature had no legs, and its back was formed by bone wings made of ribs, with three skulls hanging in the position of its chest, and a bone scythe held by the arm in front of its massive breastbone.

Gu Xi recognized the state of this skeletal creature.

This was a stitched skeleton corresponding to a Sewn Monster among the Undead, a Skeleton Demon, also starting at Level 6 as a high-tier Undead species.

It seems this Undead in front of him would be like the Maze Devourer he encountered before.

Sure enough, as the condition of the Skeleton Demon stabilized, Gu Xi saw the information pop up.

[You’ve successfully used the Soul Summoning Skill, Soul Summoning Skill experience +1, with some insights into Corpse Structure, Undead Research, and Soul Knowledge.]

[Misfortune Skeleton (Level 4, Summoned Creature): Experience (0/500), Attack 14, Defense 9, Life 41, Skills: Sacrifice of the Undead (When each Misfortune Skeleton dies, 15 to 20 temporary Skeleton Soldiers will appear at the spot), Infinite Counterattack (Counteracts all attacks automatically), Area Attack (Can attack enemies in multiple locations nearby).]

[Explanation: These skeletons have been blessed by the Evil Spirit and revived by the Undead Mage.]

Looking at the description in front of him, Gu Xi knew his guess was correct; this was another high-tier Undead species sample.

However, Gu Xi also understood that compared to a Graveyard, he had three large buildings capable of producing Skeleton troops under his command.

As long as any one of these could be upgraded to Level 2, Misfortune Skeletons could be trained immediately.

Yet the combat power of these Misfortune Skeletons could only be considered average. Even with the city and Gu Xi’s attribute enhancements, their combat power could still only be deemed average.

This is the nature of the Undead species: the strong are exceptionally strong, but the weak are pathetic at the same level.

However, these Misfortune Skeletons still have their own advantages; whether it’s their ability for Area Attack or their automatic Infinite Counterattack when hit, they are commendable skills.

Not to mention, when they die, they can still transform into fifteen to twenty Skeleton Soldiers.

This is the final role of the Misfortune Skeleton, revealing its battlefield positioning.

Although it’s not as good as various Knights, one would not lose out training such a species.

”Take it, someone, please deliver this to the Evil Church.”

Gu Xi decisively gave the order to send this Misfortune Skeleton back.

This specimen certainly needed to be protected first; there’s no shortage of this kind of troop for the time being.

After sending away the Misfortune Skeleton, Gu Xi continued handling the remaining corpses.

Gu Xi originally thought that, with the success of previous attempts, the upcoming Undead Transformations would become simpler.

But Gu Xi had never expected that he would fail in five consecutive attempts at Undead Transformation afterward.

All five corpses exploded on the spot, turning into fragments of flesh and bone scattered everywhere, leaving nothing behind.

Faced with the current situation, Gu Xi was utterly speechless, never expecting things to turn out this way.

Fortunately, before these major strange corpses were processed, Gu Xi extracted their Death Rules and soaked them in the Water of Order, so even if the Undead Transformation failed, it wouldn’t hinder Gu Xi from preventing the revival of those major anomalies.

Feeling gloomy, Gu Xi casually cleared out the Death Rules of all normal anomalies here, then properly processed these anomalous corpses.

Gu Xi always believed that the earlier failures in Undead Transformation were due to incorrect materials; now he had to deal with the materials thoroughly.

However, this was not the case; Gu Xi was merely forcefully employing skills he hadn’t mastered yet, issues were sure to arise.

It would have been strange if no issues occurred.

The success in previous attempts was merely due to Gu Xi’s good luck.

Yet Gu Xi still hadn’t figured this out, thinking he had made a mistake with the materials.

After processing all the materials, Gu Xi turned his attention to the corpse of Eldest Princess Anna that was already soaked in the water.

Previously, Gu Xi had intended to deal with the major strange corpses first and then turn back to handle Eldest Princess Anna.

But the series of five failures just now had severely impacted Gu Xi’s confidence.

In the short term, Gu Xi was probably not confident enough to perform another Undead Transformation.

And since Eldest Princess Anna only had one last chance for Summoning, Gu Xi was unwilling to waste the kind efforts of the Holy Knight.

Finally, Gu Xi took one last look at Eldest Princess Anna and, with a wave of his hand, sent her body into the deepest part of Evil Wood Lake.

That place was now used for purifying and enhancing corpses.

Gu Xi needed to ensure that the quality of Eldest Princess Anna’s body remained at an extremely high level.

After having the materials by the side of Evil Wood Lake tidied up, Gu Xi instructed the Undead to return Dead Mirror Immortal to the Library. After completing everything, Gu Xi jumped onto the Evil Coffin.

This time, Gu Xi planned to head to the Blacksmith Shop first.

On one hand, the Soul Stone was quite important; on the other hand, the complete set of war equipment Gu Xi ordered at the Blacksmith Shop should now be ready.

After handling affairs at the Blacksmith Shop, Gu Xi planned to visit a few other Training Camps.

Today marked the beginning of a new week, and it was a perfect time to muster troops.

Gu Xi especially needed species like Stone Golems and Vampires right now.

If these troops were not gathered back, Gu Xi would naturally be preoccupied with thoughts.

Thus, riding on the Evil Coffin, Gu Xi roamed randomly in the city, soon arriving in front of the Blacksmith Shop.

As a core building, the Blacksmith Shop was naturally located in the Main City District.

Upon arriving, Gu Xi noticed the different architecture style from the rest of the Main City District.

Upon seeing Gu Xi, a big bearded, half-metal-clad muscled man emerged.

”Sir, can’t you relocate the Blacksmith Shop somewhere else? It’s really inconvenient to work here.”

Hearing this, Gu Xi chuckled, ”Anderson, I have no alternative but to place the first core building here, but I promise you, once I construct a second Blacksmith Shop, I’ll pick a better location to relocate you.”
