Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 389: Chapter 387: The Death God in Maple Leaf Park

Night, in front of Maple Leaf Park, the enormous Steel City Gate slowly emerged.

Upon awakening, Gu Xi arranged some affairs and then took the initiative to leave Yalidu City, coming before Maple Leaf Park.

There were more than three days left to exit this world, and in Gu Xi’s plan, many means needed to be prepared in advance.

Currently with free time, Gu Xi had no intention of doing nothing.

Finally arriving in such a world, if he didn’t convert more Undead Corps or seize some land titles and architectural design plans, it would be a waste of this grand festival.

When night fell, he immediately locked onto his predetermined target, Maple Leaf Park.

As Gu Xi released the Steel City Gate, chaos ensued within Maple Leaf Park.

The combination of the Steel City Gate and the Earth-bound Deceitful Dragon put great pressure on Maple Leaf Park.

Within Maple Leaf Park, a discussion was underway on how to handle the current situation.

Not all demons stubbornly wished to attack everything; some, upon realizing they couldn’t defeat the opponent, would choose to surrender or pay tolls.

However, Gu Xi had never encountered such a thing before.

Or rather, Undead Mages rarely encountered such things.

Unlike humans, possessing Leadership Skills and Diplomacy Skills, few were willing to communicate with the Undead.

Even some living people stubbornly believe that the dead are beyond communication.

However, the Maple Leaf Park before him was not of that stubborn ilk.

They attracted many people to commit suicide annually, which actually indicated an affinity towards death.

Because of this reason, they could clearly feel the pressure brought by the Steel City Gate and the Earth-bound Deceitful Dragon.

So when Gu Xi’s troops emerged from the Steel City Gate, a demon also emerged from Maple Leaf Park, waving a white flag, seemingly wanting to negotiate with Gu Xi.

Such a situation was a first for Gu Xi.

He hesitated for a moment, ultimately moving to the front of the team, standing before the Evil Coffin.

At this moment, Gu Xi, tightly gripping the Iron Chain on the Evil Coffin with his Demon’s Right Hand, was able to stand steadily regardless of how the coffin swayed. With his emaciated body and a head full of white hair, he appeared like a desiccated corpse just emerging from a coffin.

Upon flying out from the team, the demon’s gaze changed.

He raised the white flag higher in his hand and shouted loudly, ”I’m Hei Tian of the Maple Family, who might you be?”

”Breath of the Dead, you may call me that.”

Gu Xi had no intention of giving his actual name.

In his mind, he felt he shouldn’t communicate with these people, he should just attack.

”Please wait, we mean no harm, name your price, what will it take to spare us.”

Seeing that Gu Xi had no intention of stopping, Hei Tian spoke quickly.

”You are also Undead, give us dead ones a way to live, we do not have an easy time here.”

Hearing this, Gu Xi began to look up and down at Hei Tian, discovering that while Hei Tian’s skin appeared relatively normal, there were faint corpse spots on his face.

This suggested he was Undead, but his actions and reactions resembled those of the living.

This situation sparked a thought in Gu Xi’s mind.

There were good things in front of him in Maple Leaf Park.

Seeing Gu Xi’s eyes light up, Hei Tian internally muttered in dismay.

He feared he had drawn Gu Xi’s attention.

At this point, Hei Tian couldn’t be bothered with anything else, shouting, ”Three thousand, no, five thousand corpses, we are willing to offer five thousand corpses, please spare our Maple Family.”

Gu Xi instead laughed at this moment.

”Once Maple Leaf Park is taken, everything belongs to me, attack!”

As Gu Xi’s words landed, a long arrow pierced into the center of Hei Tian’s forehead, pinning him to the ground.

Subsequently, the Undead Corps under Gu Xi began advancing under the leadership of the Undead Boss.

As Gu Xi marched, changes occurred in Maple Leaf Park, with a large number of trees gathering in one direction, forming a city wall made of trees.

Above the wall were more than a dozen defense towers, with some hanged corpses suspended atop.

When the trees transformed into a city wall, all the corpses turned to face Gu Xi.

Gu Xi noticed something peculiar: those with longer hair used their hair to cover their faces, while those without hair found ways like scarves or hats to hide their faces.

It seemed as though committing suicide was considered a disgrace.

As the wall stood erect, a multitude of demons appeared atop it.

Most of these demons were zombies or types of undead, even including some Yellow Springs Ghost Soldiers holding Three-pronged Forks or some mummies weaker than Gu Xi.

Step by step, they climbed to their respective positions on the wall, picking up various weapons placed atop.

All these weapons were made of maple branches, adorned with bloodstained red leaves.

However, what startled Gu Xi was not this, but the group of semi-transparent youths behind these demonic apparitions, holding scythes of different colors and emitting an air of death.

”Do you realize what you’ve missed?”

As the wall rose, a young man wielding a Large Scythe flew up.

Gu Xi could sense that this young man’s strength was around level 7, yet he felt distinctly suppressed.

”What are you?”

”I’m not a thing, huh, we are Guides of Yellow Springs, Death God Students of Mountain Peak Middle School, third generation of the Maple Family. You have invaded our Maple Family’s territory, and I will drag your soul out from your body and let it burn for a hundred years on the flames of Yellow Springs.”

Death God?

Even students?

Gu Xi found it a bit speechless, having initially thought the Undead Mage schools were peculiar enough.

Yet here, there was even a Death God school.

Are these wielders of scythes all useless ones taught by it?

Gu Xi looked on with confusion.

However, Gu Xi realized these supposed Death God corpses surely exceeded normal demons.

If he could capture them, the source of corpses for his high-tier species would no longer be a concern.

With this thought, Gu Xi sneered dismissively.

”Death God? I’ll call you a Death God, dare you to respond?”

As he spoke, Gu Xi waved his hand, prompting forty-one Red Dragons to fly from the rear, spewing towards the maple-formed city wall.

Actually, Gu Xi was unaware that these Death Gods were not the kind he imagined; they belonged to the Netherworld at the far end of Yellow Springs, a profession undertaken by Netherworld entities, complete with a full educational system and public management institutions.

Their role is to guide the souls of the deceased to the end of Yellow Springs, to the giant red wheel suspended in the depths of the Netherworld.

Because they guide souls away from the world, they’re called Death Gods.

Without this identity, they’d likely be mere creatures of the Netherworld, equivalent in status to minor spirits in a Mysterious Mirror Image Space.
