Beneath the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin Statue, Gu Xi and Xia Yi eventually parted ways.

At this moment, they both weren’t feeling great because who wouldn’t be frustrated seeing orange equipment right in front of them, yet unable to use it?

Fortunately, they both knew they had to be outside the city within three days.

As for bringing the top players from Bailian City, it was just talk.

The strongest player in Bailian City is only Level 18, and while he might risk everything for the orange equipment, the executives and guild leaders have to think over it carefully.

It’s likely that even after the White Training Grand Ceremony finishes, they wouldn’t be able to spare the manpower to come over.

Ultimately, both Gu Xi and Xia Yi decided to keep this matter to themselves. As for plans, they would have to rely on their skills.

After leaving the park of the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin, Gu Xi released the Evil Coffin that transformed into a bicycle and rode away.

As he left, the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin glanced at Gu Xi, but since Gu Xi had turned into a bicycle and wasn’t engaging in combat, this Great Guanyin Statue had no reason to act against him and just watched him leave.

Meanwhile, shortly after Gu Xi left, Xia Yi returned to the spot, staring at the Life-taking Stone for a while before deciding to open his bag, preparing to snatch it.

Gu Xi was near the Wudou Family when he suddenly heard a ding in his ear.

[Xia Yi has died in Bailian City!]

Hearing this, Gu Xi braked abruptly, nearly flying off the bike.

He looked disbelievingly toward the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin and saw that at this moment, the Great Guanyin was holding a not very large Flying Dragon.

This enormous Guanyin Statue was stuffing the Flying Dragon into its Jade Purification Bottle.

Did Xia Yi bring this upon himself?

Gu Xi looked over there in disbelief.

He couldn’t fathom why Xia Yi would be so impulsive, thinking that just because he had a dragon, he could challenge the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin.

Didn’t he see that even with Death Incarnation, Gu Xi hadn’t made a move?

Sighing, Gu Xi remounted his bicycle. This time, he didn’t speed up but leisurely returned to the Wudou Family.

Standing in front of the Wudou Family’s door, Gu Xi intended to knock but remembered the Wudou Family’s taboo, deciding instead to shout.

”Wudou Minami, are you home?”

”Gu Sang, you’re back. Please come in.”

Wudou Minami opened the door and led Gu Xi inside, mentioning, ”Gu Sang, you seem to be in a bad mood.”

”A friend just died. Just a while ago, I was talking to him, and in the blink of an eye, he’s gone.”

Upon hearing this, Wudou Minami hurriedly comforted Gu Xi, ”People are like fireworks, they often leave when they’re most beautiful.”

Gu Xi sighed again, taking out all his cash and placing it in Wudou Minami’s hands.

”Get me some wine.”

Wudou Minami, puzzled, asked Gu Xi, ”Gu Sang, do you want to stay longer?”

”Why, are you kicking me out?”

”No, I just noticed you haven’t been around these days; I thought you might have your eye on some other local girl’s residence nearby.”

”No, just been busy with things lately.”

Gu Xi shook his head, ”Oh right, if I wanted to buy a place like this, how much would it cost?”

Listening to Gu Xi’s question, Wudou Minami earnestly replied, ”It depends on what kind of house you want. If it’s for individual living, a normal single-unit costs around eight million. If you want it with daytime weirdness and nocturnal soldiers, then about ten million.

Oh, here when you buy a house, they include people in it. When looking, make sure to specify your requirements, or they’ll just randomly assign.”

Really, things here are this quirky?

Gu Xi was left speechless by the situation here.

Nevertheless, he decided to find time to buy a single-unit home. As for the people inside, they weren’t important; the crucial thing was having his own house so Gu Xi could return here.

Otherwise, once the White Training Grand Ceremony concludes, he’ll have to leave, and then that Life-taking Stone would really be gone.

”I’m considering looking at some properties; do you know any agents?”

”Yes, you can find agents by the station. They have listings for the whole city. By the way, when an agent shows you properties, make sure to ask how many people have died in the house.

For every person that dies, the house price drops by ten percent. If many people have died, you might want the agent to find you another place.”

Wudou Minami said this while glancing at the next door.

Gu Xi noticed the situation next door too.

It seemed like just a day or two ago, something had happened there.

Gu Xi’s Death Incarnation had directly crushed the demon buried below, taking the Soul Stone.

In the family, one man and three women, only one survived.

This house is probably considered haunted at the agents now.

Seeing Gu Xi’s gaze shift next door, Wudou Minami blushed slightly.

”No, that’s not allowed.”

”Not allowed what?” Gu Xi asked, puzzled.

”Gu Sang, you can’t buy the house next door and invade my guesthouse; it’s against ethics.”

Gu Xi patted his forehead; what kind of thinking was that?

Luckily, they were speaking while already inside the room, and Wudou Minami invited Gu Xi to sit down first while she prepared wine and dishes.

Sitting in the small courtyard, various thoughts flashed through Gu Xi’s mind.

Xia Yi’s situation saddened Gu Xi. Such a good friend, gone just like that.

Moreover, it was at the hands of the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin.

This irrational behavior made Gu Xi feel something was off.

Even though he had only fought alongside Xia Yi twice, Gu Xi recognized Xia Yi’s character and capabilities.

Otherwise, when the Life-taking Stone was discovered, Gu Xi wouldn’t have proactively invited Xia Yi.

When realizing they couldn’t take the Life-taking Stone, he wouldn’t have made plans with Xia Yi to return later.

But Xia Yi suddenly rushed to challenge the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin.

Clearly, something isn’t right here.

Thinking of this, Gu Xi couldn’t help but stand up; he wanted to go back to the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin to see what was happening.

At that moment, his wrist suddenly hurt, and the Spirit Lamp activated again, stabilizing Gu Xi.

”Life-taking Stone!”

Gu Xi realized what was happening; the Life-taking Stone was likely influencing his thoughts.

Xia Yi might have fallen for it too, running willingly to the Life-taking Stone when he left.

Realizing this, Gu Xi suppressed the urge to rush into battle with the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin, gripping the Spirit Lamp with his left hand and using the Flame to calm himself.

Just then, the door suddenly opened, and Wudou Minami came in carrying food.

”Gu Sang, you can eat now.”
