Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 385: Chapter 383: Calmly Facing the Possibility of Orange Armor

”Brother Gu, you’re killing me here. If I can’t get this thing, I definitely won’t be able to sleep when I go back.”

After confirming that the stone was indeed the Life-taking Stone they had imagined, Gu Xi and Xia Yi ran to a safe place nearby to discuss.

According to Xia Yi’s judgment, this Life-taking Stone was of higher quality than the Soul Stone Gu Xi had obtained before.

If treated like the Soul Stone, it might produce Orange Armor.

Hearing this, Gu Xi’s eyes lit up.

Orange Armor, as such, only had three pieces in the entire Bailian City. When they were in school, they had learned about them, knew who owned them, and what their basic effects were.

It’s fair to say that every additional piece of Orange Armor was a significant event in Bailian City.

If Gu Xi could bring back a piece of Orange Armor, not to mention the current chief, even claiming himself as the leading figure of the new generation in Bailian City wouldn’t be a problem.

As for Purple Armor, Gu Xi could still pick and choose, considering whether the style suited him and if any negative effects would impact him. But with Orange Armor, Gu Xi wouldn’t think so much; he would equip it right away.

However, now Gu Xi was no longer as furious as before.

He was considering something seriously.

”There are nine Life-taking Stones in total, each with a fixed destination. Do you think only this one might produce Orange Armor, or do all nine produce Orange Armor?”

Hearing this, Xia Yi swallowed.

”No, Brother Gu, what are you planning to do?”

”Find another Life-taking Stone to test, see if the other Life-taking Stones are the same. If not, call for reinforcements!”

Gu Xi was very clear-headed and wasn’t careless just because he discovered a Life-taking Stone.

He was seriously assessing his current strength.

If they could seize the Life-taking Stone, that would naturally be the best.

But if they couldn’t, then calling for reinforcements to end this White Training Grand Ceremony early was the only option.

Gu Xi thought that with the appearance of potential Orange Armor, the superiors in Bailian City would likely not blame him for ruining this grand ceremony.

When Gu Xi mentioned calling for reinforcements, Xia Yi understood Gu Xi’s plan.

He was about to persuade Gu Xi not to do it, but he suddenly realized he had no way to talk Gu Xi out of it.

For this White Training Grand Ceremony, all players were only Level 4. They could think of ways to defeat enemies above Level 5, but if the enemy’s strength exceeded Level 10, their chances of winning were very low.

And the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin, at Level 20, was beyond what all of them combined could handle.

If they truly gathered all the undead mages still alive in this world for a single Life-taking Stone, it would likely lead to the annihilation of all players in Bailian City.

At that point, no one would benefit from this White Training Grand Ceremony.

And Gu Xi’s choice was the true method of response.

There are nine Life-taking Stones in total. Finding another to test would take just a day.

If it produced only Purple Armor, it would indicate that the other Life-taking Stones weren’t as good as the one in the hands of the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin, and then they could call for reinforcements.

If it produced Orange Armor, then sorry, if they couldn’t beat the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin, couldn’t undead mages defeat other forces in this world?

For Orange Armor, the undead mages would undoubtedly put everything they had on the line.

Xia Yi thought seriously for a moment, ”Can I participate when dealing with the Life-taking Stone?”

”Of course, but there are eight in total now. Each should have detailed records of their locations. Wouldn’t it be better for each to head in a different direction?

If you follow me, you might not get any benefits.”

”My forces are insufficient.”

Xia Yi shrugged, ”I only have a small amount of troops. I can handle street demons, but there’s no way I can take on large divine palaces.”

Mentioning this, Xia Yi said quite seriously, ”The divine palaces within the city are quite strong. I’ve seen people challenging them and being directly beaten out.”

”Alright, I’ll inquire about the location of the Life-taking Stones, and you figure out what kind of enemies we’ll face next.”

Seeing that Xia Yi genuinely wanted to get involved, they quickly divided their tasks to handle the situation.

However, Gu Xi was really oversimplifying the matter.

The Life-taking Stones were split into nine pieces, each with a fixed seal location, and this could be proven.

But the problem was that the sealed locations of the Life-taking Stones weren’t in this city.

For example, one was near Nasuyu Onsen in Tochigi Prefecture, a place far from this city.

Another was in the Left Capital District of Kyoto City, carved into the likeness of Jizo.

Gu Xi found out through inquiries that the closest Life-taking Stone was in Shimotsuma Town, Fukushima Prefecture.

But the issue was that although Gu Xi had checked the train and bus schedules, for some reason, even though it was only two hundred kilometers away, it would take three days and nights to reach there.

At that speed, it seemed like they’d be riding an ox cart instead.

When Gu Xi regrouped with Xia Yi and shared this situation,

Xia Yi was also a bit helpless, ”This seems to be a plan to trap all of us in this city. This city is both our home ground and our prison. We cannot leave it within these seven days.

But as it stands, the remaining eight Life-taking Stones are of the same quality.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t be preventing us from moving forward.”

Listening to Xia Yi, Gu Xi thought for a moment and then shook his head.

”No, we can’t place our hopes on this gamble. Three days is important for us too.”

”Brother, are you planning to give up?”

Xia Yi looked up and asked Gu Xi with some disbelief.

In his eyes, Gu Xi wasn’t someone who gave up easily.

”Give up? Certainly not.” Gu Xi shook his head and said, ”I’m just being calm. It’s not currently the best time to take this Life-taking Stone.”

Hearing Gu Xi’s words, Xia Yi was baffled. If not now, when would be the best time?

What Xia Yi didn’t know was that Gu Xi was already considering a plan.

He planned to leave a Furnace Stone Node in the city, much like in Victoria City.

Once his strength increased, he would return to confront the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin.

If that didn’t work, he would head out of the city.

This White Training Grand Ceremony was temporarily selecting this city as the main battlefield.

It didn’t mean the city would cease to exist after the ceremony.

It was just that Bailian City wouldn’t be able to capture this city and its game anymore.

If Gu Xi could leave a mark, he could easily return to claim the Life-taking Stone once his strength increased.

Gu Xi could certainly remain calm now, considering this matter from an observer’s perspective.

Unaware of Gu Xi’s plan, Xia Yi looked at Gu Xi and resignedly had to give up the chance of leaving the city in search of Life-taking Stones for the time being.
