Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 369: Chapter 367: Upgrade Chest, Purple Unlocked

”What’s happening?”

Gu Xi strode towards the place where chaos erupted.

As he stepped into the Well Dragon Palace, a voice echoed in his ear.

[You have taken over a territory occupied by the eerie. By day, you can gain the attributes corresponding to this territory. By night, you can rest your troops here to replenish consumed forces. If you choose to dismantle this place, you will receive 10 random architectural design plans and a land title.]

Hearing this voice, Gu Xi paused in his tracks.

The reason he hadn’t personally entered the Well Dragon Palace before and had his subordinates clean up the battlefield was precisely out of fear of such situations. If he made a wrong choice, everything inside the Well Dragon Palace would be lost.

Gu Xi could see very clearly that there were obviously many good things inside the Well Dragon Palace. Dismantling it without transporting those out would be a huge waste.

Just like the large quantity of dried salted fish found earlier from the Well Dragon Palace, which served as the best proof.

If the Well Dragon Palace were dismantled directly, they wouldn’t even think about getting any food.

But with chaos now occurring inside the Well Dragon Palace, Gu Xi still had to come and take a look.

Gu Xi gritted his teeth, ignoring the voice prompt, and walked briskly towards the chaos.

”What’s happening?”

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s voice, the undead who were clearing out the Well Dragon Palace made way, revealing the situation inside to him.

It turned out that the undead group was dismantling the floor tiles, and when they pried open the tiles, they discovered layer upon layer of white bones beneath.

Glancing at these bones, Gu Xi’s eyelids twitched.

The bones had been crushed too finely, and Gu Xi couldn’t tell how many were from fish and how many were from humans.

However, given the Well Dragon King’s years of accumulation, quite a few people likely perished in the well.

After exiting the Well Dragon Palace, Gu Xi hesitated for a moment.

”Everyone, exit the Well Dragon Palace.”

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s command, the undead were unsure of what had transpired.

However, they still swiftly left the Well Dragon Palace as Gu Xi instructed.

Subsequently, Gu Xi took out some materials and began to arrange them around the Well Dragon Palace.

This time, Gu Xi intended to set up the Undead Transformation Array.

But it was going to be an ultra-large one, and not targeted at singular entities.

The Undead Transformation Array Gu Xi set up enveloped the entire Well Dragon Palace within its bounds.

The materials consumed for this were almost all of the materials Gu Xi had just acquired.

Even the few green-quality weapons he acquired moments ago—he didn’t even check their attributes and dismantled them on the spot, breaking them down into green materials to add to the Undead Transformation Array.

After setting everything up, Gu Xi drank a bottle of magic potion to replenish his mana and then began Soul Summoning in the Well Dragon Palace.

Under the stimulation of the Undead Transformation Array, the effects of Gu Xi’s Soul Summoning Skill were amplified, illuminating the entire Well Dragon Palace.

The corpses buried beneath the Well Dragon Palace naturally fell under the influence of the Soul Summoning Skill.

Although the bones had turned to powder, Gu Xi’s Soul Summoning Skill had already reached level 8, enabling him to summon ghosts.

Guided by the Undead Transformation Array, a faint glimmer of light rose from underground, with human souls drifting upwards.

There were adults, children, men, women, and even quite a few old men among them.

Meanwhile, there were also some fairly large fish alongside them.

Before these souls floated out from underground, they all stood in place, unsure of where to go.

Gu Xi understood that these souls could not be transformed into battle-ready ghosts. Their bones were shattered, and even their souls were fragmented. They couldn’t even remember who they were.

However, Gu Xi believed that he should take this action. Even if he lost most of the resources, he wouldn’t regret it.

As Gu Xi’s mana was drained, the Undead Transformation Array gradually came to a halt.

Looking at the soulless spirits, Gu Xi decisively waved his hand.

”Send them to Yalidu City. They will become the residents of Yalidu City in the future.”

Under Gu Xi’s command, the Ghost Corps entered, guiding these souls through the city gate into Yalidu City.

Meanwhile, other troops re-entered the Well Dragon Palace, beginning to dismantle the various materials there.

Once everything inside had been emptied, a platoon of undead soldiers carried a treasure chest out from within.

Just about to enter the Well Dragon Palace and opt for dismantling it, Gu Xi halted his steps, glancing at the chest embedded with an eyeball on top.

[You’ve acquired a mysterious treasure chest (blue). Would you like to open it?]

Looking at the chest before him, Gu Xi suddenly recalled something he had, quickly searching and pulling out a demon skull with crimson skin.

This is the Fate Demon Head obtained during a previous battle alongside Zuo Ya and the others.

This item has a 15% chance of upgrading the chest by two tiers, a 25% chance of upgrading by one tier, a 50% chance of the chest remaining unchanged, and only a 10% chance of downgrading the chest by one tier.

This is definitely worth a gamble.

Even moving up one tier could turn it into a purple chest. If he got lucky and it turned into an orange chest, he’d strike it rich.

After all, this is a place where purple equipment can serve as family heirlooms.

If anyone starts with a piece of orange equipment, even if it doesn’t suit them for the time being, it’s support enough on its own.

So Gu Xi decisively placed the Fate Demon Head on the mysterious treasure chest.

As the demon skull was placed on the chest, the once-dead demon suddenly opened its eyes, beginning to laugh heartily.

Soon, the surface of the chest started glowing blue, gradually transforming into purple, and finally shifting towards orange.

Twice, twice!

Gu Xi couldn’t help but feel tense, murmuring under his breath.

But in the end, he was left disappointed as the glow on the chest settled finally on purple, while the Fate Demon Head closed its mouth, slowly turning to ash.

[You’ve acquired a mysterious treasure chest (purple). Would you like to open it?]

”Open it!”

Knowing that this time would only upgrade it a notch, purple was good as well. Gu Xi had yet to open such a high-level chest and was curious about its contents.
