Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 151: Chapter 149: Priority Construction (33/141)

Returning to the front of the Assembly Hall, Gu Xi noticed that an additional stone statue had appeared on the vacant ground outside. The statue depicted a warrior holding a longsword.

The longsword in the statue’s hand was exactly the Sacred Artifact Gu Xi had acquired, the Sword of Courage.

”Is this how you arranged it?”

Gu Xi pointed to the Sword of Courage and turned to ask Luna.

”Yes, isn’t the statue nice? I originally wanted to make it look like you, but after thinking about it, you look cooler holding a magic staff.”

”It’s fine, I was just asking.”

Hearing Luna’s words, a rare blush appeared on Gu Xi’s face.

Afterwards, they entered the Assembly Hall.

As soon as he stepped inside, Gu Xi felt a moment of darkness. Looking up, he realized that Di Mi had somehow already positioned herself in front of the Assembly Hall.

”My lord.”

”Why is she here?”

Gu Xi glanced at Luna.

”There was an issue in the Medieval District, no, the Magic Plant District just now. I was worried, so I specially invited her over here to hold the fort. As long as the Assembly Hall remains under our control, Yalidu City remains under our dominion.”

Only then did Gu Xi understand what was happening.

Di Mi wasn’t the type to flee at the sight of others; seeing Gu Xi approach, she even proactively brewed a pot of tea for him.

After they sat down in the Assembly Hall, Gu Xi pointed to the map and said, ”Next, our focus should be on both core buildings and medium-sized buildings. One of the core buildings is set for the construction of the Magic Tower.

This aligns perfectly with my intentions, as we do need to build a Magic Tower. Building it first benefits us greatly.

What we need to consider now is the other core building. My idea is...”

”A Barracks!”

Before Gu Xi could finish his sentence, Di Mi interrupted, ”With a Barracks, you can reassemble the soldiers who are not controlled by a boss, and assign bosses to complete city tasks, upgrading their levels.

Without a Barracks, you would only watch the city fall into chaos.

Right now, it’s manageable with only a few troops, but later when there are more, you won’t be able to handle it alone.

As for boss-level undead, they’re easier to manage; you can summon some by killing a few enemy bosses.

But the speed at which you gain troops is where it stands, and you haven’t learned much about the spells that accompany your Soul Summoning Skill. What’s the level of your Undead Domination? Can your Soul Summoning Skill summon zombies yet?

And now you have these new Stone Golems, which can’t be summoned as boss-level with Soul Summoning Skill. It’s manageable when they’re few in number, but how do you plan to manage them when there are many?”

As Di Mi listed these questions, Gu Xi fell silent. Truth be told, he hadn’t planned to prioritize building the Barracks initially.

He thought about seizing the Blacksmith Shop first, after what he encountered in the Blacksmith Shop within the Scattered Immortal Garden. Gu Xi realized it would be uncomfortable not to have his own Blacksmith Shop.

Gu Xi figured that if he trained blacksmiths now, he’d have hands to use when he needed to upgrade weapons and equipment.

However, he hadn’t expected the Barracks to be the most crucial building in this phase for Yalidu City.

Gu Xi glanced at Luna and saw her nodding from the side.

”Alright, after the Magic Tower is completed, we’ll build the Barracks first, then move on to building medium-sized buildings. But before that, I want all the supporting buildings constructed.

Build supporting buildings in both the Magic Plant District and the Upper City District.

In the Upper City District, hang chandeliers, and the Magic Plant District can use the Twisted Giant Trees.”

Regarding supporting buildings, Di Mi didn’t interfere. Frankly, supporting buildings are mainly for decorating the city, and their specific use doesn’t significantly impact the city.

Besides, Di Mi is waiting for Gu Xi to establish medium-sized buildings quickly to meet her conditions for the three main buildings.

So naturally, Luna swiftly agreed to the arrangements.

Gu Xi then took another look at the layout of the city’s vacant lots, contemplating what small and medium-sized buildings to construct.

While pondering this, Gu Xi cast a sidelong glance at Di Mi. Among these small and medium-sized buildings, many were prioritized by Di Mi.

Especially the Alchemy Laboratory. It needs to be upgraded to Level 3. Currently, all his buildings are still at Level 1, and Gu Xi doesn’t know what’s required for upgrading. How was he supposed to obtain the necessary resources?

Thinking of this, Gu Xi rubbed his temples, realizing that once the matters concerning Yalidu City were resolved, it would be best to seek out Liu Kai.

If Liu Kai obtained one architectural design plan, he likely has access to others. Gu Xi wanted to consult him, to see if there were any new perspectives.

At the very least, he needed to find a place where he could purchase or trade architectural design plans.

Money wasn’t the issue here; he simply needed a place that sold them.

Otherwise, having money but nowhere to buy would be a real hassle.

”My lord, are you tired? If you feel tired, perhaps you should rest a bit. There are no battles in Yalidu City right now.”

”No, I’m just feeling a bit uncomfortable due to mana depletion. I want to go see the Upper City District and understand the vacant area designated solely for building the Magic Tower.

By the way, didn’t you mention there was another Sacred Artifact in the Upper City District before?

Because of the rush to the Magic Plant District, I haven’t had the chance to take a look there yet. The Sacred Artifact should still be in the Upper City District, right?”

”It should still be there. Speaking of which, I nearly forgot. My lord, let me take you there.”

Upon hearing this, Di Mi became interested, ”A Sacred Artifact, is it something like the sword in the hand of the statue at the door?”

Di Mi has been lingering around Yaliduoli these past few days, practically turning into a street wanderer. With nothing else to do, she’s been roaming around Yalidu City.

After all, there is no sunlight here, so taking a walk wouldn’t expose her to any harm.

Hence, in the past few days, wherever there was excitement, Di Mi would be found there.

One can say that apart from Luna, no one is more familiar with Yalidu than Di Mi.

Di Mi observes every change within the city.

It’s safe to say that each time a new street lamp appears, she would take a closer look.

The Assembly Hall in Yalidu City is one of her most frequented locations, and she had already noticed when the new statue appeared.

Now that Gu Xi mentioned another Sacred Artifact in Yalidu City, Di Mi immediately jumped with excitement.

”My lord, you’ve taken the Upper City District, and I haven’t had the chance to check it out. Mind if I tag along?”

”Sure, you can come along too.”

Gu Xi, holding the Cold Wind Staff, turned and exited the Assembly Hall. As he left, he didn’t forget to engage Luna in a discussion about the needs for small and medium-sized buildings in the city.
