”Have they finally arrived?”

About two hours after the attacks occurred at other nodes, the Gargoyle finally brought back the latest news.

The enemy forces attacking this wave have already arrived.

However, the number of enemies is somewhat chaotic, and the Gargoyle, which cannot speak, was unable to detail the exact number, only providing an estimate.

Nearly ten thousand!

Gu Xi was at a loss for words at this news.

He didn’t expect that either the enemy wouldn’t come at all or they’d arrive all at once in such numbers.

This quantity clearly suggests that it’s two waves of enemies attacking together.

Although puzzled about what’s going on, with the enemy already upon them, Gu Xi must respond.

Standing on the city gate tower, Gu Xi struck the ground heavily with the Cold Wind Staff.

”The enemy is already in position, everyone prepare for battle. There are more enemies this time, so we cannot go too far to engage, as required the Zombie Corps will be deployed first, set up the formation fifty meters outside the Undead Calamity Ritual Array.

The Skeleton Shooter unit will follow up behind.

Other units will separate to both sides, move quickly, and get ready.

Bosses, come to me before heading out to receive some food to enhance the combat power of your elite subordinates.”

Having said that, Gu Xi pointed towards the [Rotting Endless Food Basket], signaling his subordinates to take action.

However, after making all the arrangements, Gu Xi couldn’t help but rub his own stomach.

It seems ever since Luna went to Victoria City, no one has been taking care of Gu Xi’s matters.

Not to mention delivering the Green Ghost wine that could enhance mana, not even food has been sent over.

At this point, Gu Xi is somewhat starving.

And the things from the [Rotting Endless Food Basket] can only be consumed by the Undead.

This left Gu Xi pretty speechless.

But he didn’t dwell on this matter for long.

Previously in prison, he had even eaten rat meat, and when there was nothing to eat, he’d just go hungry.

Compared to that, this was nothing.

After this battle ends, he would find an opportunity to return to Yalidu City to grab some food. For now, he needs to deal with the enemy first.

While Gu Xi was arranging his subordinates, the Otherworldly Corps from the Other Ghost side had also appeared on the horizon on the other side.

Seeing this from afar, Gu Xi finally understood what the Gargoyle meant.

This time, the Otherworldly Corps indeed had a confusing number.

In a troop of nearly ten thousand, there were over twenty completely different strange races.

The mixing of these races made the entire army look like a mixed ensemble.

And their bosses didn’t seem to care about this either, each seemingly preoccupied with their own thoughts, just rushing forward without any intention of organizing the troops.

Such a chaotic battle array naturally made it difficult for the Gargoyle to judge their numbers.

Truth be told, even Gu Xi, seeing the scene ahead, could only sigh and randomly estimate the number to be nearly ten thousand.

As to the opponent’s strength, Gu Xi couldn’t gather any information.

”Zombies equipped with long spears, be prepared; when the enemy comes a bit closer, be ready to strike.”

Gu Xi only considered briefly before making the decision to engage head-on for this battle.

With Gu Xi’s order, the Death Incarnation in the sky also descended onto the city gate tower, turning its head to stare at the approaching Otherworldly Corps.

At this time, a group of the fastest-moving Other Ghosts had already approached the Undead Calamity Ritual Array.

Standing on the city gate tower, Gu Xi noticed some of the arrangements within the Other Ghost Corps.

There were nine Otherworldly Ghost Bosses in total in the Other Ghost troops, and among them, three were rushing ahead.

The one that caught Gu Xi’s attention the most was a woman in a cheongsam holding a paper umbrella. However, unlike a normal person, her skin was distinctly of a sky-like blue, and her hair and eyebrows were bright red.

White baboon fur was draped over her shoulders like a cloak.

As she moved forward, a layer of ice appeared on the ground, and even the surface of her paper umbrella was adorned with snowflakes.

When she was about fifty meters away from the Zombie Corps, she raised her paper umbrella upwards.

”Weather change! Heavy snow!”

With that command, the woman’s feet were quickly encased in ice, and the cold wind began to spread outwards with her at the center.

Standing on the city gate tower also felt snowflakes descending from the sky.

This is a weather-type spell.

Gu Xi, speechless, glanced at the snowflakes falling around, and his assessment of the Otherworldly Ghost Bosses improved.

Why don’t his own subordinates possess such a boss?

At this moment, the other two Otherworldly Ghost Bosses at the forefront also made their move.

One was completely covered in frost, with skin taut and muscles shriveled. His hair had turned gray-white, white baboon fur wrapped like bandages around his chest, and it was visible that a large hole had been opened in his chest.

In his hand, he held a long spear made of ice crystal.

When the woman unleashed the snowflake spell, he leapt up, charging forward on the falling snowflakes.

Clearly, he intended to bypass the front line and confront Gu Xi directly.

The other dragged a black coffin with iron chains, covered in white baboon fur, walking slowly forward, leaving it unclear whether the coffin or the Other Ghost boss wielding a thin sword was the real body.

He quickened his pace, leaving the Other Ghost soldiers behind him, and had already rushed to the forefront of the zombies.

Before the zombies could act, this Other Ghost Boss simply swung his hand in a horizontal sweep, sending the coffin he had dragged in front of the zombies.

Gu Xi’s orders were already given to the zombies—to remain calm upon encountering the enemy and to stab with their long spears step by step.

So when faced with the coffin rushing towards them, they continued their original actions.

But they didn’t expect the coffin to be so strange. Just merely touching the zombies caused them to lose their souls, turning into stiff corpses, and they fell on the spot.

This situation reminded Gu Xi of a possibility.

The biggest adversary of the Undead Mage.

Soul Thief.

This is a profession not particularly strong but very targeted.

Their greatest feature is the ability to extract the souls of undead summoned through Soul Summoning Skill.

In other words, if an Undead Mage uses Sea of Bones to fight them, it would be tragic.

Fortunately, this profession isn’t strong in other aspects, and their soul extraction is limited to undead summoned by the Soul Summoning Skill. Naturally occurring undead aren’t affected.

And it doesn’t affect any living people.

So, unless one holds extreme hostility towards Undead Mages, not many would choose this profession.

Gu Xi didn’t expect to encounter this profession here, which stunned him for a moment.

And while he was momentarily distracted, the Other Ghost wielding the Ice Crystal Spear charged on the snowflakes to the city gate, targeting Gu Xi, who remained standing on the city gate tower.
