Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 150: Chapter 148: Level 3 Yalidu City (32/141)

Yesterday, upon receiving a recommendation, the subscriptions quickly rose, reaching 1413. I just want to ask, are there any more recommendations like this? I can afford more.

After everything had calmed down, Gu Xi noticed that the tentacle he pinned to the ground had already transformed into a root filled with death qi. This root pierced straight into the deep pit, with the exposed part being over a hundred meters long.

The root was covered in scars of all sizes, with some skeleton fragments and half-torn zombies hanging from it.

Before Gu Xi could understand what was happening, dark green rain started falling on him.

At the same time, Gu Xi noticed that this dark green rain caused the earth to sprout a vast amount of weeds as it hit the ground.

In the blink of an eye, a section of the ruined Medieval District was completely engulfed by weeds, as if humans had abandoned it for decades, with nature merging with the abandoned buildings.

Before Gu Xi could understand what was going on, a power surged forth from the direction of the Ancient City Gate.

In the influence of the dark green liquid, the lush weeds quickly turned dark purple or deep green. The dark green liquid pouring from the sky also began to flow towards the deep pit created by the tentacle root.

Soon, it turned the deep pit into a small green lake.

Observing the transformation before him, Gu Xi was at a loss. He glanced back at the Death Incarnation.

But the Death Incarnation was unable to communicate or explain to Gu Xi what was going on.

Gu Xi watched as the nearby land quickly sprouted new weeds, and even some inconspicuous small trees.

While at the distance, near the black mist of the Medieval District, the rolling black mist was also calming down, blocked by an invisible defense shield against its invasion.

Has the occupation been successful?

Gu Xi’s heart stirred. Could it be that Luna had already annexed the Medieval District over there?

If so, that would be great.

Though the Medieval District before him was already in ruins, at least it was successfully occupied.

At worst, they would handle it again later.

”All units, assemble to me.”

Understanding this, Gu Xi no longer dwelled on it, raising his Cold Wind Staff to rally the troops towards him.

This rallying was, however, much slower than before, as Gu Xi noticed that his troops suffered significant losses from the battle with the tentacle.

Numerous Undead were scattered, and gathering them now required time.

Surprisingly, Luna arrived quickly. Even before Gu Xi had fully gathered his troops, Luna had already hurried over from the Assembly Hall.

”Master.”

”Luna, you’re here. What happened just now? Has this Medieval District been occupied?”

”It has been occupied, but since over half of the Medieval District was destroyed, the usable plots are significantly reduced. More importantly, we can’t handle these plants, which impacts our layout in this district.”

”Never mind, if they can’t be handled, so be it. Occupying it is already good news. By the way, do you know what happened here?”

Gu Xi was quite curious about what was going on and why a perfectly fine Medieval District ended up like this.

”I’m not too sure either, the only thing I know is that a new passage appeared at the end of this Medieval District.”

”Let’s go check it out.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi quickly suggested.

Luna obliged without further comments, leading the way, while the Death Incarnation followed behind, protecting Gu Xi as they headed towards the edge of the Medieval District.

At the edge of the Medieval District, Gu Xi saw more and more vegetation growing, forming a path lined with blooming flowers and filled with thorns.

”Here it is.”

Following the peculiar path to the edge of the black mist, Gu Xi discovered that the black mist before him was forcefully opened, and there seemed to be something writhing continuously within the depths of the mist.

Just a glimpse within was enough for Gu Xi to make a judgment.

”Seal it off. Let’s revisit it once we’re more powerful.”

”Understood.”

Luna responded decisively.

Now, Gu Xi found a moment to sit down, pressing his forehead. With his mana drained, he still had a headache.

But it was clearly not the time to rest.

Gu Xi had matters to attend to.

The reasons why the Medieval District turned out this way would remain unknown.

However, since it has been occupied, they naturally must develop it properly.

”Luna, from now on, let’s not call this the Medieval District, but the Magic Plant District.”

”Okay.”

Luna didn’t really care about the name of the area, and Gu Xi was merely sentimentally inspired by the peculiar plants before him. However, his primary concern was the current state of Yalidu City.

[City Name: Yalidov

City Direction: Death City

Seeing the information on Yalidu City, Gu Xi couldn’t help but sigh internally.

”What a pity, if the Medieval District hadn’t been destroyed, we would have a lot more large-sized plots to utilize.”

Luna firmly nodded in agreement. As the Elf of Yalidu City, Luna’s level was tied to the level of Yalidu itself.

Only by constructing new buildings or occupying other cities could Luna’s experience increase.

If the Medieval District wasn’t half obliterated, Gu Xi could construct enough large buildings to yield an additional 6 city experience points at minimum.

Sometimes, this slight disparity in city experience could signify significant differences in Death City’s levels, like heaven and earth.

In the past, Gu Xi might not have cared about this.

But now that Gu Xi knew the prerequisites for activating talents, he understood he had to elevate both Death City and Death Incarnation skills to level 4, as they were key to activating his talents.

Currently, it was more than just a little discrepancy.

Gu Xi had to consider, if the city experience was slightly short by then, how he would handle this matter.
