Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 187: Chapter 185: The Other Ghosts’ Crushing Tactics

Half an hour later, the Otherworldly Corps appeared again in Gu Xi’s sight.

Due to previous two failures, the Other Ghost troops no longer attempted ambushes or any other tricks.

This time they only planned to use force for a frontal crushing of Gu Xi.

With this in mind, the Other Ghosts that came over this time were straight-up combat units in a considerable number.

Leading the way was the rather rare Knight Corps.

A total of three hundred knights, covered in a kind of brightly glowing green armor, and holding long spears like the flickering lights outside barber shops, purposely controlled the speed of their warhorses without initiating a charge.

Behind them followed attendants, swordsmen, and lancers dressed in purple robes.

Apart from their messy purple hair and clownish faces, they were no different from normal soldiers.

These were the kind with chain mail on their bodies, holding powerful weapons.

Most importantly, in front of the Knight Corps and the attendants, swordsmen, and lancers, Gu Xi saw a battle banner.

The Knight Corps had a battle flag with two balloons colliding together, one red and one green, strikingly visible on the white banner.

The attendants, swordsmen, and lancers’ battle banner bore a flail, a long spear, and a longsword crossed over a shield.

These two battle flags clearly indicated a situation.

These two troops were considered the core of the Other Ghosts.

These powerful troops, along with scattered Other Ghosts around them, numbered around six thousand, exerting unprecedented pressure on Gu Xi.

Watching the enemy troops advance slowly, Gu Xi hardened his expression, jumped onto the Evil Coffin, and raised the Cold Wind Staff.

”Raise the banner, all Undead prepare for battle, Combat Squad 1, lead all speared Undead to the front line, face the enemy cavalry’s impact directly.

Bone-Slaying Camp, Combat Squad 2 prepare to flank and clear the rear grunts, Ghosts attack the enemy’s main troops.

Skeleton Shooters, Skeleton Mages follow me, listen to my command, prepare to attack, move out.”

Under Gu Xi’s command, the advancing Other Ghost troops had already reached the Undead Calamity Array.

As they were preparing to charge, they encountered an unexpected situation.

More than half an hour earlier, Gu Xi had blown up a castle here, although gaining nothing, had lost a Training Camp, but left a large pit on the ground.

The Knight Corps starting their charge about two hundred meters from the Undead Calamity Array didn’t expect the situation here.

When reaching the pit, they had to slow down and find alternate routes to bypass it.

This gave Gu Xi an opportunity, where Skeleton Shooters and Skeleton Mages launched a wave of saturation attacks on the Knight Corps.

Meanwhile, the Ghosts flew over this pit, assaulting the main troops behind the Knight Corps directly.

Just at this time, the Knight Corps were changing direction, splitting into two groups to bypass the pit and regain momentum.

Thus, when they separated, they exposed the main troops behind them.

The main troops didn’t anticipate the charging Knight Corps to pause suddenly, causing disarray, with some soldiers halting while others squeezed forward.

In this chaos, they didn’t raise their weapons, without combat readiness.

When the Ghosts swooped in, they met the disorder of the enemy.

This immediate clash caused the Other Ghost troops to fall apart.

Without support from the main troops, the Knight Corps divided their forces and charged to the flanks.

With this move, Gu Xi noticed an opening, ”Combat Squad 1 advance, lancers all go left, ignore the right, everyone proceed.”

At this moment, the enemy dividing forces was a great chance for Gu Xi. He decisively chose to concentrate on the left, contrary to the Other Ghosts, aiming to first take down one batch of Otherworldly Knights.

Recognizing the situation, the Skeleton Boss of Combat Squad 1 immediately understood Gu Xi’s strategy.

Without hesitation, he led Combat Squad 1 and all speared Undead to charge the left direction.

As they advanced, he adjusted the steps of these Undead.

Advance, slow down a bit, advance again.

By the time these Undead appeared before the Otherworldly Knights, their steps were aligned, regardless of being Zombies or Skeletons, they moved at a unified tempo.

Also, their long spears and lances were stabilized, facing straight forward, ensuring control over their weapons suited interaction in combat.

Meanwhile, the one hundred and fifty Otherworldly Knights had bypassed the pit, readying for another charge.

But before they could charge, all the Undead raised their long spears under Skeleton Boss’s command.

Spear lowered, held level, step forward, thrust directly.

As these Undead thrust their spears straight ahead, the Otherworldly Knights were just starting their movement.

Spear thrust, piercing straight into the mounts of the Otherworldly Knights.

Their charge was halted once again, as the Undead resumed their steps forward, thrusting, recovering spears, advancing...

Like ruthless attack machines, forming a spear phalanx not for defense but for direct confrontation.

The Otherworldly Knights relied on their higher levels and thick health to endure a wave of attacks, simultaneously piercing their lances into the Undead.

Despite lacking the boost of charging, their attack power surpassed the Undead.

The Undead could not kill these Otherworldly Knights with a single stab, whereas the Knights could easily kill their matched Undead.

However, they hadn’t anticipated the Undead’s disregard for their own lives, thinking that once an Undead in front dies, the space opens up.

The next Undead immediate follows, thrusting the spear forward as previously.

Their demand wasn’t high, as long as they took down a few Otherworldly Knights each time, it was sufficient.

As long as they kept killing, the Other Ghost Knights would fall.

With this mindset, the Skeleton Boss thrust another attack using his spear.

[Skeleton Boss (Summoned Creature) kills Otherworldly Knight (Level 6), you gain 1 point of Experience, Combat Squad gains 1 point of Experience, Summoned Creature gains 30 points of Experience, Summoned Creature’s Level increased to 4.]
