Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 163: Chapter 161: Cleaning Up the Battlefield and Evil Coffin Upgrade

As Gu Xi’s orders were issued one by one, the battle here was slowly coming to an end.

Under Gu Xi’s command, the skeletons’ battle became much more orderly.

They started learning to cooperate with each other, making the skeletons’ battles gradually more successful.

Although no one was directing them, the coordination was gradually in place.

At the same time, some of the things they robbed from the red-skinned mummies were used by themselves, their weapons and equipment began to be upgraded, and their combat power started to improve.

In front of Gu Xi, piles of junk also began to accumulate.

These included chopped-off arms, peeled red skin, and some hair, among other things.

It was unclear why the skeletons thought these were valuables.

The main point was that these items all had attributes, and when placed in front of Gu Xi, he would receive notifications, making it impossible for him to ignore them.

[You obtained pulled-off hair (gray).]

[You obtained a hand with nails (gray).]

[You obtained large patches of skin (gray).]

[...]

Among the gray junk delivered by the skeletons, the head of an abomination plus a chain of brains was the best material here.

[Sequenced Skull (gray): A lot of brains were stitched into the skull. Perhaps in the mind of the original owner, brains were meant to enhance intelligence, but this idea was somewhat naïve. In the end, this thing has lost its original function. The only benefit is that it is a good material for making equipment.]

It was precisely because of this [Sequenced Skull] that Gu Xi was willing to keep looking at these notifications pop up, even though they were gray, with nothing to miss.

Of course, there were white-quality weapons too, but Gu Xi looked at them and saw that most were soldier’s equipment.

[Short Sword (white): Soldier’s weapon, Attack +1]

[Cloth Clothing (white): Soldier’s armor, Defense +1]

[Iron-headed Stick (white): Soldier’s weapon, Attack +2]

[...]

These weapons were quite chaotic, and Gu Xi did not take them, distributing them on the spot. Basically, whoever found them owned them, and Gu Xi did not expect these weapons and equipment to form a legion.

On the contrary, the chair initially used to carry the abomination, when dismantled, yielded three green items, considered the biggest gain for Gu Xi this time.

[White Baboon Skin (green+1, ID Proof): Stronger after enhancement, the white baboon skin, with this skin, one can walk freely in the void, but its strange influence will also be enhanced.]

[Blood-soaked Wood (green): Wood affected by various bloodstains, covered with unknown layers of blood. It is the best material for fortifying chairs or chests.]

[Flesh Cushion (green): A cushion made from the blood, skin, and hair of the defeated, which can enhance the quality and attributes of the chair part.]

Gu Xi thought for a moment. The white baboon skin is proof of killing the enemy, so it must be kept. The other two are not particularly useful since he doesn’t have his own throne or anything, so he simply used them on the Evil Coffin.

The wood was thrown into the Evil Coffin, which happily swallowed it up, and then Gu Xi noticed the coffin lid became significantly thicker.

And when the flesh cushion was placed over the Evil Coffin, the black gas emerging from the coffin digested the flesh cushion.

Once the black gas dissipated, there were some changes on the Evil Coffin’s exterior. Gu Xi could clearly see some new talismans appeared on the coffin, and some blackened meat threads emerged at the edges of the coffin lid.

[Evil Coffin (green+1, mount): Undead element player and hero mount, with a moving speed of 150 km/h per hour, can carry one person, can temporarily speed up to 300 km/h (limited to 20 seconds).]

This situation made Gu Xi’s eyes brighten; after strengthening, the Evil Coffin not only improved in speed but also gained a function to temporarily charge and accelerate.

It seems the stronger the quality of this mount, the better.

After considering it, Gu Xi simply took out the saved [Magic Power Heart] and placed it in from t of the Evil Coffin.

At that time, having just upgraded from green to green+1, the Evil Coffin immediately moved to before the [Magic Power Heart], sprayed black gas, and dragged it into the heart.

The next instant, the Evil Coffin was engulfed entirely by black gas, even Gu Xi couldn’t take a step closer.

Gu Xi understood that the Evil Coffin was upgrading, but from the current situation, the upgrade might take some time.

At this moment, Gu Xi ignored the Evil Coffin and shifted his gaze to the battlefield.

By then, the last few enemies had also been cleared by the skeletons. Without needing any commands from Gu Xi, the skeletons began to automatically clean up the battlefield.

Some idle skeletons even helped Gu Xi transport the gray junk piled in front of him to the Undead Calamity Array.

During transportation, Gu Xi even had time to classify these items.

The materials usable for equipment creation and weapon crafting were separately picked out, those usable for alchemy and medicine were placed separately as well.

Lastly, those with unknown usage were all piled up together, waiting for the battle’s end. Gu Xi intended to send them to the Wharf Warehouse for Kane to examine for possible differences.

At this time, Luna had also transported a large amount of weapons and equipment from Yalidov.

The weapons in Gu Xi City were mostly spoils from the previous battle against the Ghost Soldiers.

Most were large knives and complete sets of armor kinds of weapons, with plenty in number; there were more than a thousand sets, and even more unmatched ones.

As the skeletons carried things over, Gu Xi waved at them, ”All at or above level 3 line up to receive weapons and equipment. Those who haven’t reached level 3, wait to join the newly summoned units.

If you don’t strive for it yourself, in the end, you’ll end up being cannon fodder. Hurry up, clear the battlefield.

Luna, drag these things to Yalidu City and have Kane handle the classification.”

Luna turned her head and glanced at the massive pile of gray items sent in by the skeletons without asking any more questions, just pointed behind her, and the skeleton soldiers under Gu Xi started transporting these things into the city gate.

And at this time, Gu Xi also began directing the just-reached level 3 skeleton soldiers to come over and receive weapons.

Watching these skeleton soldiers being armed one by one, a slight smile appeared on Gu Xi’s face.

Just then, the magic array on the ground suddenly extended outward, and one after another, new skeletons climbed out from underground, actively reinforcing Gu Xi’s ranks.

Gu Xi separated these new skeletons from the ones who reached level 3, and after a headcount, Gu Xi now had 876 skeletal soldiers at level 3 and above, and 2124 below level 3.

This combat power was slightly better than before, but not by much.

Looks like he’ll have to wait for the next battle to enhance these undead’s combat capabilities.
