Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 189: Chapter 187: The Arrival of Reinforcements

Reinforcements?

Watching the swarm brought by the stone golem, a thought flashed through Gu Xi’s mind.

But how did they fly here?

Before Gu Xi could figure out what was happening, the stone golem charged with the swarm toward the nearby otherworldly ghosts.

Only one stone golem landed in front of Gu Xi and handed him a letter.

’Comrade Gu, this is my private troop. I can’t use them at the core of the Undead Calamity Array for now, so I’m turning them over to you.

Although not many and their levels aren’t high, they can at least offer you some help.

I hope you can hold on at the node position.

Keep pushing! Stay alive!

Liu Kai!’

Upon reading the letter, Gu Xi finally understood where the troop accompanying the stone golem came from.

The mage leader couldn’t spare any other forces, so the ones following the stone golem were Liu Kai’s private troops.

Just at that moment, a voice came to Gu Xi’s ear.

[You have received 100 corpse poison flies (Level 5, joined temporarily).]

[Corpse Poison Fly (Level 5, temporarily joined): Attack 8, Defense 4, Life 23, Skills: Insect Swarm State, Weak and Powerless, Flying Team.]

Gu Xi was somewhat surprised by this new type of troop.

He had heard of undead in the insect swarm state but had never really seen them.

The corpse poison flies before him were the first.

Insect swarms are relatively small-sized troops, nearly invisible individually and not very damaging, so they are generally calculated by the swarm, around three to five hundred per swarm.

As long as one remains alive, the insect swarm is not considered dead.

Its effect is similar to the bat transformation of vampires.

As long as one survives, with a corpse as a warm bed, draining a bit of blood can immediately restore combat power.

As for Weak and Powerless, this is a normal dragonfly’s ability, so naturally, the poison-enhanced corpse poison fly also has this ability.

It’s the flying team part that gave Gu Xi a glimpse of the difference between flying teams.

If the ghost counts as a flying team, then its flying speed is a walk, the stone golem’s speed is a run, while the corpse poison fly’s speed is a flight.

Once brought to the battlefield, they didn’t wait for Gu Xi’s order and directly charged toward the main force.

These corpse poison flies quickly flew past the stone golem, over the crater, and as they approached the main force, they dispersed, stabbing at the soldiers of the main force and retreating.

The Weak and Powerless effect of the corpse poison flies took immediate effect, with the main otherworldly ghost force only able to muster about thirty percent of its original combat power.

This gave the ghosts fighting against the main force an advantage.

With the main otherworldly ghosts weakened, they naturally became stronger, and whether high-level ghosts or those converted by the Undead Calamity Array, they immediately attacked the main force.

In just an instant, the main otherworldly ghosts suffered massive casualties.

At this time, Gu Xi felt excited with the arrival of reinforcements.

The previously tense forces suddenly had some relief.

Gu Xi abandoned the idea of using the Soul Summoning Skill and immediately switched to another spell.

”Bone Storm!”

The new Bone Storm fell on the otherworldly knight before him, along with attacks from the skeleton mages.

”Skeleton Shooters, turn back to deal with the remaining otherworldly knights, give Combat Squad 1 a chance to face the enemy skirmishers, stone golems prepare to attack, target the enemy main force.”

With the Bone Storm released, Gu Xi issued orders.

It could be said he deployed all the available forces.

Now only part of the defense-focused Combat Squad 2 and some slow-moving zombies were left before Gu Xi.

At this moment, the Death Incarnation, just having dragged the otherworldly knight boss to the sky, tossed it like a volleyball into the main force.

The Death Incarnation then transformed into a black mist, quickly rushing over.

Seeing the Death Incarnation charge into the main force, the two-headed otherworldly ghost, fighting against two skeleton bosses, also noticed the situation and turned its attention to the Death Incarnation.

To the two-headed otherworldly ghost, the Death Incarnation is a challengeable existence.

Fighting the two skeleton bosses is merely a waste of time.

The two-headed otherworldly ghost turned and swung its dual swords, flinging the two skeleton bosses away, then leaped, executing a jump slash toward the Death Incarnation.

At that moment, the Death Incarnation, having just killed over thirty otherworldly ghost swordsmen, was preparing to take off again for another assault when the two-headed otherworldly ghost’s sword struck its neck.

With these two strikes, the Death Incarnation felt its neck might be severed.

However, it quickly drew in its body, carrying the enemy into the air.

The two-headed otherworldly ghost, far from frightened by the situation, opened its two mouths in wild laughter, believing it was about to slay this giant creature.

Such a large bone dragon head would be a fine addition to its collection.

It wanted to mark it with a number on the dragon head.

So the two-headed otherworldly ghost ran along the Death Incarnation’s neck toward its head.

As for the damage brought by the black mist, it was insignificant to the two-headed otherworldly ghost.

In its eyes, the Death Incarnation was merely a stage for it to showcase itself.

Dragon slaying.

That was a significant achievement indeed.

As the two-headed otherworldly ghost pondered, it raced toward the top of the Death Incarnation’s head.

At this time, the Death Incarnation felt the tiny creature scampering around its body.

But instead of being afraid, it executed a roll in the air, intending to shake off the two-headed otherworldly ghost.

However, the two-headed otherworldly ghost anticipated the Death Incarnation’s move and jumped upward, narrowly dodging the attempt to shake it off.

The two-headed otherworldly ghost then raised its dual swords, aiming to stab at the Death Incarnation’s eyes.

But as it descended, it noticed a gray light flashing in the eyes of the Death Incarnation.

Melting Ray.

The eyes of the Death Incarnation emitted gray light, directed toward the two-headed otherworldly ghost.

The two-headed otherworldly ghost hadn’t expected the Death Incarnation to have such an attack, and as it fell, it couldn’t dodge, only frantically swinging its dual swords to block the Melting Ray’s effect.

But with only one swing, the Death Incarnation lunged forward, and its tail struck heavily at the two-headed otherworldly ghost’s waist.

Then the Death Incarnation, from above, unleashed two more Melting Rays.

This time, the Melting Rays easily hit the two-headed otherworldly ghost, unable to defend against the overhead attack.

Under the assault of the Melting Rays, the two-headed otherworldly ghost’s body quickly dissolved.

But the Death Incarnation wasn’t satisfied, hitting the two-headed otherworldly ghost once more.

Under the quadruple Melting Rays, only a mechanical head with clown makeup and two longswords were left of the two-headed otherworldly ghost, with no trace of its body remaining.
