Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 175: Chapter 173: Slaying

Watching the incoming Otherworldly Ghost Boss, Gu Xi was about to raise the Cold Wind Staff in his hand, but the Death Incarnation lying on the city gate tower acted much faster than Gu Xi.

With a mouth open, it shot Death Dragon Breath towards the approaching Otherworldly Ghost Boss.

That Otherworldly Ghost Boss, appearing to fly in the air, was actually walking on snowflakes, clearly with limited dodging range. Initially, he hadn’t noticed the large Death Incarnation lying beside Gu Xi.

He only thought about killing Gu Xi to easily resolve the battle before him. Seeing the situation in his favor, he rushed in excitedly.

Unexpectedly, just as he reached in front of Gu Xi, without even having acted, a blast of Death Dragon Breath hit him head-on.

Under the green light, he didn’t even have a chance to dodge and was directly pushed back several steps by the Death Dragon Breath.

Then the Death Incarnation spread its wings and transformed into black mist to rush forward.

While passing the Otherworldly Ghost Boss who was hit by the Death Dragon Breath, it lowered its body and dragged the Boss’s body over a hundred meters.

[Death Incarnation (Spell Product) killed Otherworldly Ghost Boss - Ice Ghost (Level 8), you received 3115 experience points (experience +5%).]

As the Death Incarnation swooped down, the attacking Others also noticed the situation over here.

They didn’t expect that with just one encounter, Gu Xi’s side had already killed a powerful Otherworldly Ghost Boss.

This left the Others at a loss for a moment, and their attacks visibly paused.

However, Gu Xi’s subordinates did not stop attacking.

Even though affected by the Soul Thief, and Zombies would collapse upon touching the coffin, they still, as trained, steadily thrust their long spears forward.

The Soul Thief, too, was no longer as at ease as before; he had to dodge the thrusting long spears because he wasn’t invulnerable to blades or spears and couldn’t ignore all attacks.

At this moment, Skeleton Soldiers also charged out from the sides of the Zombies, crashing directly into the ranks of the Others.

The Others who managed to charge at this time were all those with relatively fast movement speed. Due to racial disarray, they had no room for coordination among themselves. Once the Skeleton Soldiers rushed into their ranks, they fought coordinatively as trained.

Some of these Skeleton Soldiers received training from Combat Squad 1. They ignored their own safety, just thrusting the long spears forward, and thrusting forward again.

Such straightforward and crude attack methods were the best to deal with these chaotic Others.

They didn’t care about what tricks these Others had or what strange abilities they possessed.

As long as such a big Other was standing here, if seven or eight long spears couldn’t kill it, then they would just make another round of thrusts.

As for any attack actions the Others could take when the long spears were thrust, the Skeleton Soldiers would take them with their bodies.

As long as you couldn’t instantly kill hundreds and thousands of Skeleton Soldiers, there would always be one getting to you.

Attacks from both left and right were like a crab’s pincers, constantly squeezing the Otherworldly Corps.

This effectively cut off the combat space in front of the Soul Thief.

Initially, there were some Others following behind this Soul Thief, helping him block attacks from behind, giving him a chance to face the Zombies.

Over a hundred Zombies had already fallen at the hands of the Soul Thief.

But now that the Others behind him were cleared out, the Soul Thief found himself besieged on all sides. Several Skeletons even lifted long spears or other weapons to slash directly at the Soul Thief.

The Soul Thief was overwhelmed; originally, only needing to face the Zombies, he had to divert his attention, swinging the coffin in his left hand like a windmill.

This temporarily made him safe, but it greatly drained his physical strength, forcing him to reconsider how to handle the situation.

But at this time, the Soul Thief suddenly felt a surge of unease in his heart. When he looked up, he saw a long arrow flying towards him, followed by hundreds of bone arrows.

The Soul Thief quickly flashed backward, but unfortunately, he had just swung the coffin wide and couldn’t simply abandon it.

His backward flash was dragged off balance by the coffin, which not only failed to move him far but exposed his chest, leading to more than half of the bone arrows hitting him.

Under such an assault, the Soul Thief fell to the ground, with the coffin flying out of his grasp.

Nearby Skeletons and Zombies, seizing the opportunity, thrust their long spears into the Soul Thief.

With these stabs, the Soul Thief was ultimately pierced to death on the spot.

As he perished, the black coffin tethered by iron chains disappeared into thin air, never to appear again.

The over a hundred souls locked within the coffin vanished along with it.

This was why the Undead Mage despised the Soul Thief the most.

The souls taken by the Soul Thief couldn’t be reclaimed even if they were killed.

Having killed the Soul Thief, the Undead Corps under Gu Xi felt reinvigorated, and more Undead surged into the ranks of the Others. Several Undead Bosses turned their attention to the foremost Otherworldly Ghost Boss on the scene.

It was that cheongsam lady holding an oil-paper umbrella, who was now buried under accumulated snow.

Seeing the Undead turning their gaze upon her, the cheongsam lady didn’t hesitate. She knew well her role and capabilities. Besides changing the weather to snow, she had no other utility.

The rest of her techniques were all defensive measures.

Seeing herself surrounded by Undead, she immediately encased herself in ice inside a freezing compartment.

Then she widened her eyes within the compartment, watching the Undead trying to break through yet unable to shatter the thick ice with a sense of helplessness.

But this Otherworldly Ghost Boss forgot one thing: there was still a Death Incarnation under Gu Xi.

While everyone was dealing with the Soul Thief, the Death Incarnation had circumvented its way here, charging into the rear of the Other’s ranks.

Under the influence of the Crystal Storm and black mist, the Death Incarnation charged back and forth amidst the Others’ ranks, taking out many Others in a single face-off.

Then the Death Incarnation turned around and flew back from the Others’ ranks.

Just as it returned, the Soul Thief was easily killed, and the Death Incarnation coiled its body. The black mist and crystal storm focused together, hitting the freezer heavily.

Amid the astonishment of the Otherworldly Ghost Boss, it carried the freezer into the air, flying higher and higher.
