Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 171: Chapter 169: An Unexpected Event in Victoria City

As the sequenced skull was shoved into the evil coffin, the black air inside the coffin gushed out along the coffin’s edge, and amidst the black air, Gu Xi could see a contorting human face, resembling the sequenced skull.

[Inlaying the sequenced skull, the evil coffin has mastered a new skill, Auto Navigation!]

[Auto Navigation: Provide a corresponding map to the evil coffin, and it can then move freely on its own. The evil coffin will deliver you to your desired location within the specified time.]

Upon seeing the information pop up in front of him, Gu Xi roughly understood what the situation was.

Because he had inlaid such an item into the evil coffin, turning its innate auto-navigation ability into a specialized skill.

This way, Gu Xi could just flop onto the coffin lid, take a nap, and directly arrive at the specified location.

This was a good lazy man’s method, but it didn’t mean much to Gu Xi. The original evil coffin already had this kind of ability; it was just that they could at most lock onto a direction and move forward according to a vague concept.

Unlike now, where it’s directly explained with a map, guiding you there.

In this situation where it seemed like an upgrade but also not an upgrade, Gu Xi didn’t even know where to begin criticizing.

At this moment, Luna floated over too. She glanced at the evil coffin and turned to Gu Xi, saying, ”My lord, your mount.”

”What’s wrong with this mount? The speed of this mount is obviously fast.”

Gu Xi asked with a puzzled expression.

”No, I mean, you probably can’t ride this mount; you’d slide right off if you stood on top.”

Gu Xi felt embarrassed now. He climbed onto the evil coffin and tried it, and just like Luna said, because the lid of the evil coffin was too slippery, Gu Xi couldn’t stay seated at all unless he held onto the iron chain tightly.

And when he tried to straddle the evil coffin like before, he found that the evil coffin had not only lengthened but also widened considerably, making it impossible for him to straddle it.

As for standing on the evil coffin, that was even more impossible; the moment he managed to crawl to a standing position, it felt like standing on an ice surface.

Gu Xi believed that if the evil coffin moved even slightly, he would definitely be the one thrown off.

”Luna, do you have any ideas?”

”How about sewing a coffin cover like a saddle?”

Luna offered her suggestion.

With Luna’s words, Gu Xi suddenly realized.

”No need to sew any coffin cover; it’s not that much trouble. Where is my battle banner? Lay the battle banner over the coffin lid and press down with the iron chain, so someone can sit. Who knows what’s the deal with the evil entities inside this coffin.

Covering it with a banner after death, that’s a national funeral treatment.”

Despite saying this, other thoughts quickly flashed in Gu Xi’s mind.

He calculated the few remaining pieces of magic pattern cloth and Lion King’s Mane he had, and pondered how much of the gray trash could be used as materials for weaving. His battle banner needed to be remade.

Hearing what Gu Xi said, Luna actually seriously thought for a moment.

”Covering with a battle banner is possible, but my lord, our battle banner needs to be designed. We can’t just fight under this kind of battle banner every time. Those who can see the thumb know it’s the Chief Battle Banner.

Those who can’t see it might think it’s a white flag.”

”Alright, after we go back this time, let’s find someone to design the battle banner. It must be designed to be impressive.”

As he spoke, Gu Xi pressed his forehead.

Two consecutive battles had already exhausted his energy, and the two large-scale soul summoning spells earlier, along with the summoning of the Death Incarnation, had drained Gu Xi’s mana twice over.

He didn’t feel much while cleaning up the battlefield.

Now Gu Xi only felt as if he was about to collapse.

”Let me sleep a bit first; I need to recover my physical strength and mana. Luna, keep watch here, and if anything happens, wake me up immediately.”

After saying this, Gu Xi didn’t bother with anything else, as he flopped onto the evil coffin, closed his eyes, and quickly fell asleep.

Watching Gu Xi sleep, Luna didn’t say anything; she just pointed at the evil coffin, making it settle unto the ground.

The evil entities inside the evil coffin were still attempting to stir, but Luna’s hollow eyes stared in that direction, and the evil coffin instantly settled down, not daring to make a move.

Only then did Luna silently and calmly direct the undead to their respective positions.

She arranged for the Stone Golems to scout outside, and Ghosts to search for suitable battlefields beyond.

In the end, she even sent someone back to Yalidov City to prepare food for Gu Xi.

It could be said that during Gu Xi’s absence, Luna managed everything methodically all by herself.

Gu Xi didn’t know about all this. At this moment, he had achieved the feat of sleeping soundly on the battlefield.

While asleep, he didn’t even move, simply gripping the iron chain on the evil coffin tightly with his right hand.

Gu Xi slept for about an hour and a half before a Ghost, who had been sent to Yalidov City to prepare food for him, suddenly flew back, whispering something next to Luna.

Luna’s hollow eye sockets widened significantly.

Luna then looked at Gu Xi with some hesitation.

Just as she hesitated, Gu Xi, with his eyes still closed, slowly said, ”If there’s something, go ahead and do it; I’m already awake.”

”My lord.”

Seeing Gu Xi speak up, Luna hurried over to him.

Gu Xi turned over and sat up.

”What happened? You seem quite anxious.”

”Shaya returned once and left a message at the Assembly Hall, saying Victoria City is becoming increasingly chaotic, and the small building we set up there has been targeted.

It seems Yalidov City might undergo another change.

She told us to be prepared not to miss this opportunity.”

”What’s going on in Victoria City?”

After a nap, Gu Xi had recovered quite well, and he still had energy left to consider the gossip involved.

”I don’t know either; Shaya’s message didn’t say much, so I was thinking of going back to find out.”

Gu Xi nodded, understanding that Luna’s strength was closely tied to Yalidov City, and Yalidov City was a mirror image of Victoria City.

Every piece of news about Victoria City was crucial for Luna.

”Alright, you head back first, and take those Ghosts with you. Oh, also bring along that Skeleton Mage Boss; he’s not much use here anyway. You don’t need to worry about things on this side.

I’ve slept enough and my mana has recovered well. Even if stronger enemies appear later, I still have the Death Incarnation here.

Even if I can’t win, I can still hold them off and keep them from breaking in.”

Gu Xi was quite clear about his strength.

Looking at the battlefield before him, Gu Xi remained confident in handling it.

”My lord...”

”Don’t worry, it’s not a big deal; just go have a look first. If there’s anything you need, mobilize from Yalidov City. Go ahead, that’s an order!”
