As the Two-headed Otherworldly Ghost was slain, the battle tilted in favor of Gu Xi.

The organized Skeleton Mages began to truly unleash their power. After taking down the remaining Otherworldly Knights, they quickly advanced along the road on the opposite side of the pit.

Their actions were quite simple; if there were no enemies, they would just keep moving forward.

If they discovered enemies within over a hundred meters ahead, they would take the initiative to attack, unleashing various spells relentlessly.

No matter how strong those Other Ghosts were, as long as they weren’t capable of ranged attacks, these spells would immediately kill them all.

Within just a few minutes, they had reached the left side of the main Otherworldly Corps.

By this time, the main force of the Other Ghosts had only one-third of their original numbers left.

Yet their fighting spirit was still there, and upon seeing Gu Xi leading the Skeleton Mages from the left, their reaction was surprisingly to launch an active assault.

Seeing those swordsmen among the enemies still wanting to raise their shields and charge, Gu Xi smiled a little.

”Skeleton Mages, follow me, Bone Spike!”

Gu Xi pointed forward with the Cold Wind Staff, and the Bone Spike flew towards the foremost Otherworldly Ghost Swordsman, followed by over five hundred various spell attacks.

The Otherworldly Ghost Swordsman and nearly a hundred Blanks behind him only saw a flash before myriad Magic Missiles came crashing from all directions.

They were blown away on the spot while they were charging.

Not only were they blasted away a certain distance, but the Magic Missiles also added various attributes to them.

This nearly hundred Other Ghosts didn’t even need a second attack; they were simply gone.

At this time, the Ghosts also emerged from the rear; previously scattered due to the Two-headed Otherworldly Ghost, they now regrouped and leveraged their team capabilities to encircle and slay the enemies.

The Ghosts had smartened up; when they said to encircle and kill, they really attacked together.

When attacking, four to five would go together, and after attacking, they would quickly ascend, making sure the enemies couldn’t retaliate.

Given the Ghosts’ flying abilities and their inherent traits, even if they didn’t have time to fly up, they wouldn’t necessarily be harmed.

As a result, the Ghosts fought braver and braver, their levels rising with each kill.

The main force of the Other Ghosts couldn’t hold; besides swordsmen with shields, other units primarily focused on attack, their defense power wasn’t strong, often a Ghost Strike from four or five Ghosts could take one down.

Moreover, not only did their attacks fail to hit the Ghosts, sometimes, they would even accidentally strike their own.

Adding Gu Xi, who now led the Skeleton Mages to this side, the defeat of the main Other Ghost force was visible to the naked eye.

At the other end of the battlefield, with the joining of Combat Squad 1, the Otherworldly Stragglers finally understood what team combat meant.

Whether it was a long spear or long lance, the Undead brought by Combat Squad 1 were primarily about mechanical combat.

No matter what the situation was at the front, it was all about moving forward and thrusting straight with a set of motions.

Though simple, this action proved incredibly effective; initially, the Otherworldly Stragglers thought it was a Bone-Slaying Camp-like unit, wanting to drag Combat Squad 1’s undead into the melee.

But what melee, the entire battlefield was directly under their control.

All that could be heard was them moving forward, thrusting their long spears, and the sound of them retracting.

As these Other Ghosts were about to be cleared, distant sounds of ground-shaking resonated.

Gu Xi, while commanding the Skeleton Mages in battle, was startled and looked towards the direction of the sound.

Don’t tell me another batch of enemies is coming now.

Please no more, he truly had limited forces at hand.

However, Gu Xi never anticipated that his defended node was the only one not yet seized by Other Ghosts; all other nodes had already fallen into Other Ghost hands.

The Other Ghost Leader just needed Gu Xi’s place to secure the critical position of the Undead Calamity Array, potentially counteracting the Undead Calamity Ceremony.

At this point, the Other Ghost Leader wouldn’t consider issues like troop power.

If they couldn’t take it in one wave, they would send another; if that wasn’t enough, they’d add more forces.

Thus, before the previous wave of Other Ghost troops was completely defeated, new forces already arrived.

This time the forces were even larger than before.

Previously, only three hundred Other Ghost Knights arrived; this time nine hundred came over directly.

However, it was clear they had split into three groups, and their outfits were no longer clownish faces but with various distinctive features.

Behind the three groups of Otherworldly Knight Corps, over ten thousand Other Ghosts followed.

This time there were no stragglers; they were all main troops.

Moreover, within this batch of Other Ghosts, towering giants over five meters tall emerged.

However, unlike before where only one Otherworldly Ghost Boss appeared, it was now a batch of such Other Ghost troops.

From their current positions, they seemed to be the main force in this wave of Other Ghost troops.

Meanwhile, a group of flying teams resembling little demons took to the air within the Other Ghost army, indicating the Other Ghosts had truly brought out everything.

Seeing such an Other Ghost force appear, a trace of gravity flashed in Gu Xi’s eyes.

It seemed there was no hope for this battle.

I wonder if dying in the Undead Calamity Array could help in becoming a rather decent Corpse Witch or Witch Demon.

With that self-mockery, Gu Xi took a deep breath, pulled up the Cold Wind Staff, and pointed at the battlefield ahead.

”Soul Summoning Skill! Rise for me!”

At the same time, the Death Incarnations in the sky disappeared, going to install all the skills.

[...]

Under Gu Xi’s Soul Summoning Skill, vast numbers of undead rose from the corpses.

Thanks to the effect of the White Bone Bracelet, the success rate of this Summoning improved significantly this time.

Moreover, the number of zombies standing up surpassed the number of Skeleton Soldiers.

As these undead rose, Gu Xi swiftly commanded:

”Pick up the spears and lances on the ground, Combat Squad 1 come over, teach them to use the long spears, and prepare for the final battle.”

As Gu Xi did this, the Other Ghosts’ army had already approached quite a bit, the three groups of Other Ghost Knights had begun trotting with their horses, ready to make the final accelerated charge.

This time, between the Other Ghost Knights and Gu Xi, there was no longer any blasted open pit to hinder these Other Ghost Knights.

Facing the approaching charging Other Ghost Knights, Gu Xi raised the Cold Wind Staff.

”Death Incarnation!”
