Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 153: Chapter 151: Level 3 Sacred Artifact

Under Luna’s guidance, Gu Xi and his companions arrived near a manor located on the northern side of the Upper City District.

As they approached the manor, Gu Xi saw something standing inside it.

When they got closer, Gu Xi’s eyes widened, ”Could this be the Sacred Artifact?”

”Yes, in my memory, they put in a great effort to find an identical Sacred Artifact back then. Impressive, right?”

”Indeed, very impressive.”

Looking at the style of the object before him, Gu Xi was genuinely impressed. He couldn’t help but ask Luna a question.

”Luna, I’m curious, when the people of Victoria City saw this Sacred Artifact, did they have any other reactions?”

”I don’t know about that. Maybe they had never seen this Sacred Artifact before?”

Luna was somewhat uncertain as well, after all, the Sacred Artifact was indeed too conspicuous. It was a 30-meter high Bell Tower, with ivy all over it.

However, when the wind blew, it would become apparent that the vines climbing the Bell Tower were not ordinary ivy, but various colored snakes.

The style of this thing, standing in front of an ancient English manor, surprisingly coordinated perfectly.

This left Gu Xi speechless.

But the scene before him also made Gu Xi acknowledge that such a massive item, even if someone knew it was a Sacred Artifact, couldn’t be taken away.

Gu Xi shook his head, holding the Cold Wind Staff, and headed towards the Bell Tower. He wanted to go up and see what the situation with the Sacred Artifact was.

But before he got close, Gu Xi suddenly felt as if his bones had become rusty, making a cracking noise with each step forward.

Before Gu Xi could react, Luna dragged him out from the range of the Bell Tower.

”Be careful, sir. Anyone who gets close to this Sacred Artifact will inexplicably be petrified, so don’t go near it.”

”Then how can I check the Attributes of this Sacred Artifact?”

Gu Xi asked somewhat helplessly.

The Sacred Artifact was there, but he couldn’t do anything?

Luna shook her head too, ”I don’t know either, not even a Ghost can get past here.”

Hearing this, Gu Xi felt somewhat unwilling. He pointed the Cold Wind Staff at the Bell Tower, ”Death Incarnation, go!”

The Death Incarnation flew over at the command, the black fog directly pushing aside the snake-ivy on the Bell Tower.

But just as the Death Incarnation was about to reach the top of the Bell Tower, it suddenly froze, the black fog dispersed, and it fell heavily to the ground.

Seeing the condition of the Death Incarnation, Gu Xi hurriedly pointed over.

”Disperse!”

The dispersed Death Incarnation disappeared from in front of Gu Xi, returning to the Dragon Bone Laboratory. Gu Xi now understood the condition of the Sacred Artifact before him.

He glanced back at Luna.

”Was this petrification effect present from the beginning, or did it appear later?”

Luna shook her head, she had no memory of this, after all, Yalidov City rarely had living people appear, and as for Deceitful Shadow, who cares if they are petrified or not.

But now, Gu Xi clearly wanted to check it out himself, and Luna couldn’t guarantee Gu Xi’s safety.

”Forget it, I’ll do it myself. I’ll ride Evil Coffin over, and I’ll have the Heavy Armor Zombie hold on to Evil Coffin. If something goes wrong, you give the order to pull me out.”

With that, Gu Xi began to prepare. He first had the Evil Coffin circle around the Bell Tower constantly, looking for the most suitable position to strike.

When the Heavy Armor Zombie arrived, Gu Xi grabbed the Iron Chain and jumped onto the Evil Coffin, racing towards the Bell Tower in the pre-found direction.

As the Evil Coffin charged forward, Gu Xi didn’t feel anything different about himself, except that his actions noticeably slowed down.

But Gu Xi kept his eyes fixed on the Bell Tower, showing no intent to stop.

Just as Gu Xi was about to reach the Bell Tower, the Evil Coffin came to a halt.

Gu Xi had anticipated this possibility. He leapt forward, shook his hand, and the unsold Skeleton Warhorse suddenly appeared.

An Iron Chain dragged the Evil Coffin outward, while Gu Xi rode the Skeleton Warhorse into the Bell Tower.

Upon entering the Bell Tower, a voice sounded by Gu Xi’s ear.

[You have come into contact with a Sacred Artifact and discovered it is located within your city. Would you like to disassemble the Sacred Artifact, or directly occupy this Sacred Artifact building?]

Hearing this voice, Gu Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief and decisively said.

”Occupy!”

With Gu Xi’s command, he finally understood what was happening here.

Luna’s memory was right, but she hadn’t seen some of the details.

When they built Yalidov City to mimic Victoria City, they had indeed taken out another Sacred Artifact, but they had taken a shortcut.

In Victoria City, the Sacred Artifact was part of a clock, a gear, so they built a Bell Tower around that Sacred Artifact.

But when it came to building Yalidov City, they couldn’t find the same gear.

So, they built a Bell Tower in place and put in a Sacred Artifact, but it wasn’t a gear; it was the clock hands of the Bell Tower.

Although both Sacred Artifacts represent timepieces, the Traits of the Sacred Artifacts were completely different.

So, some discrepancies inevitably emerged.

This is why the Sacred Artifact structure gradually lost control and was left to be manipulated by the Time Pointer-like Sacred Artifact itself.

The sensation Gu Xi just experienced, feeling as if rusted and unable to move forward, was not actually petrification, but time slowing down.

Now that Gu Xi occupied this place, he had severed the connection with the corresponding location in Victoria City, bringing the Sacred Artifact under his control.

[Sacred Artifact - Time Pointer (Level 3): Can be placed within the city, providing corresponding effects based on the building level where the Sacred Artifact is stored.]

[Note 2: Defense lines can be arranged outside the Clock Tower, but please do not damage the Clock Tower’s structural integrity.]
