Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 191: Chapter 189: The Final Gamble (53/150)

Under Gu Xi’s command, the Death Incarnation, enveloped in black mist, lunged at the Otherworldly Knights who had not yet charged forward.

This time, the Death Incarnation disregarded everything else, packing everything onto itself under Gu Xi’s orders.

As a result, its flying speed naturally slowed down considerably, but its combat power was elevated to its peak.

The restored Death Dragon Breath and Fusion Light were also ready.

While flying, the black mist also carried a Crystal Storm.

If it were only one or two thousand Other Ghosts, this Death Incarnation would take some time to defeat them all.

But it was facing nearly a thousand Otherworldly Knights and over ten thousand Otherworldly Corps.

Gu Xi didn’t have enough confidence. After downing a bottle of Magic Potion, Gu Xi quickly calculated his mana.

He needed the Death Incarnation to buy him time, using that time to summon another batch of Undead to compensate for the disparity in troops.

When the Death Incarnation falls in battle, he could summon it once more.

Nevertheless, this was Gu Xi’s last stand.

The Magic Potion he just drank was his last bottle.

There was one more opportunity to summon the Death Incarnation.

The next summoning would be when the Death Incarnation protects him through the City Gate to retreat to Yalidov City.

It was at this time that seven or eight hundred small figures, only about the height of children with grey skin like goblins, flew out from the Other Ghost force, with wings resembling those of flies on their backs.

After flying out of the Other Ghost ranks, they aimed at the Death Incarnation.

The Death Incarnation completely ignored them, turning in mid-air to charge at the Otherworldly Knights.

As it neared the Otherworldly Knights, the Death Incarnation opened its mouth and unleashed a sweeping green beam.

Its eyes also flashed with the effects of Melting Light.

With the enhancement from the Melting Light, the power and duration of the Death Dragon Breath were significantly amplified.

Especially when the first sweep of the Death Dragon Breath was unleashed, all the Otherworldly Knights within its range perished beneath it.

However, the Otherworldly Knights were not mindless; they wouldn’t just stand there and let Gu Xi strike them freely.

As the Death Dragon Breath was unleashed, they quickly dispersed and began to maneuver around.

Their tactics were effective because as long as the Otherworldly Knights scattered, the Death Dragon Breath couldn’t kill enough of them at once.

And the Death Dragon Breath could only be used once and didn’t last long, so as long they could dodge, what did it matter if their comrades were killed by it?

Once the effect of the Death Dragon Breath ended, the battlefield would be theirs, and their priority was survival.

At this moment, the Other Ghosts’ Flying Team also arrived at the Death Incarnation’s flank.

Their sole objective was to divert the Death Incarnation’s attention.

As long as they could draw the Death Incarnation’s focus and give the Otherworldly Corps a chance to strike, that would suffice.

Once these flying Other Ghosts reached the Death Incarnation, they flew toward its body.

At this precise moment, the Death Incarnation slowed its flight to deal with the Otherworldly Knights below, and retracted part of the black mist, allowing these flying Other Ghosts to seize the opportunity to latch onto it.

Some of these flying Other Ghosts even flew in front of the Death Incarnation, attempting to become its target.

But the Death Incarnation understood its objective clearly on this occasion.

Even as the flying Other Ghosts clung to it, it didn’t attack them but continued to swivel its head, unleashing the last few seconds of Death Dragon Breath on the Otherworldly Knights.

Just like that, it killed over twenty Otherworldly Knights in one action.

After exhausting the Death Dragon Breath, the Death Incarnation spread its wings wide, swinging the black mist along with a Crystal Storm outward, turning itself into a black tornado that crashed toward the distant Otherworldly Corps.

The flying Other Ghosts who leaped onto the Death Incarnation mostly perished under the assault of the Crystal Storm, but those remaining persistently attacked the Death Incarnation, as if their assaults could inflict significant harm.

The Death Incarnation paid no heed to these flying Other Ghosts, as it charged toward a location it spotted while attacking the Otherworldly Knights.

Several Battle Banners were raised at that position.

It was clearly where several key Commanders of the main force were located.

If it could reach there, it might be able to kill one or two Otherworldly Ghost Bosses, easing the pressure on Gu Xi’s side.

As the Death Incarnation charged forward, Gu Xi encountered some circumstances.

Because the main force of the Other Ghost army arrived, the remnants of the previous wave actually mustered a resistance.

They targeted the newly summoned Undead by Gu Xi, exploiting their Habitat Level 0 status, undermining Gu Xi’s recent efforts.

Gu Xi had hoped Combat Squad 1 could temporarily train these Undead.

Now it seemed he wouldn’t have that opportunity.

As he turned his head, he saw that more than half of the newly summoned Undead had been annihilated.

The surviving Undead Corps suffered no effect, but compared to the otherworldly army surging ahead, they were significantly outnumbered.

At this juncture, Gu Xi noticed a huge balloon appearing on the horizon.

The balloon was composed of numerous red, green, and white balloons.

From afar, it resembled a clown’s face, with a clown draping itself in a formal suit made from white baboon skin hanging at the bottom of the balloon.

As he hung there, the clown laughed heartily.

”Useless, utterly useless, so many troops, after so many rounds, and not a single node captured, you’re all a bunch of failures.

What are your brains for?

If you don’t want them, just give them to me; I’ll use them to fill my balloon.”

Gu Xi didn’t hear the clown’s words; he simply felt a chill upon the clown’s appearance.

Gu Xi had a sense that this clown was a Leader of immense strength, possibly the Commander-in-Chief of this Other Ghost operation.

If he could kill him, then Gu Xi might still have a chance of winning this battle.

When Gu Xi entertained this thought, the Death Incarnation sensed his intention and, as it was about to reach the Otherworldly Ghost Boss, veered in mid-air, flying towards the clown hanging from the balloon.

Upon seeing the Death Incarnation approach, the clown showed no surprise, instead bursting into laughter.

He merely extended a hand, and the eyes of the Death Incarnation, capable of using Melting Light, transformed into two red balloons.

Then a voice sounded in Gu Xi’s ear.

[The Death Incarnation has been affected by an irresistible external force, and the Eyes of Melting Light have been temporarily sealed! Seal duration: 5 days!]
