Whoosh!

Lying on the coffin lid, Gu Xi tightly hugged his quilt. He never expected that the Evil Coffin could accelerate to such a speed.

It was actually flying over the water surface.

If he wasn’t lying so securely, he might have been swept away by the cold wind blowing against him.

After finally rushing from the center of the lake to the shore, Gu Xi didn’t even have time to catch his breath before turning to look at the situation behind him.

The White Star Lake, originally frozen, had its ice surface completely shattered. All kinds of structures on the lake sank into the lake as the ice cracked.

As these structures sank, a whirlpool composed of ice blocks appeared on the lake surface.

It looked as if someone had opened a hole at the bottom of the lake, swallowing a significant amount of lake water.

This anomaly continued for nearly half an hour. When the lake surface finally calmed, Gu Xi realized the water level had dropped over a meter.

Simultaneously, there was a large amount of construction debris floating on the lake surface; the tranquil and harmonious White Star Lake had completely vanished.

Only a vast ruin was exposed on the lake surface.

However, Gu Xi didn’t witness this scene, as he had already left the vicinity of White Star Lake.

Lying on the coffin lid, Gu Xi was making a choice this time.

During his escape from battle, Gu Xi received a notification.

[Death Incarnation (Spell Product) killed a special Undead Walrus Tomb (Level 10), you gained 6332 Experience Points.]

[Ding, total experience has reached the upgrade standard, please choose whether to upgrade.]

[Upon reaching Level 4, you will fully restore Life and Mana, clear all negative statuses, gain +1 Perception, and choose one skill from the following three as a reward.]

[Enlightenment: Passive Skill, upgradable, upon mastery, increases experience gained in combat and learning, and adds 1 free attribute point every 4 levels.]

[Summoning Magic: Passive Skill, upgradable, upon mastery, allows learning of basic summoning magic, and enhances the combat power of summoned creatures.]

[Magic Undead: Passive Skill, upgradable, upon mastery, enhances all Undead Mage contracts, summoning, and created undead, with a 50% higher probability of possessing a magic attribute during Soul Summoning.]

Faced with such choices, Gu Xi hesitated, as these three skills were each quite good.

Enlightenment was the most straightforward; after mastering it, every level up increases experience by 5%. Most importantly, Gu Xi had heard others at Nether Bone Wind Academy say that following the path of Enlightenment eventually leads to a special skill.

[King of the Undead: Special Skill, due to outstanding achievements in the field of death research, the Undead Mage’s knowledge permanently +1, while Soul Summoning ratio increases by 5%, and the starting level of undead summoned by Soul Summoning Skill is +1.]

You could say this was Gu Xi’s first encounter with the route of special skills, and although it’s a common special skill, for some, having it is better than not.

While Summoning Magic and Magic Undead are meant to strengthen the undead corps.

Summoning Magic directly allows players to learn various summoning skills, like a swarm, and various elements.

But no game can deny that the undead summoned by Soul Summoning Skill are considered summoned creatures; enhancing the combat power of summoned creatures with Summoning Magic applies to the undead corps.

Not to mention, his Death Incarnation is the purest form of a summoned creature.

Choosing this route would further boost the combat power of Death Incarnation.

As for Magic Undead, it’s a skill to add magic attributes to the undead.

A 50% success rate is decent; however, which magic attribute is added is somewhat uncontrollable.

For example, a Skeleton Shooter might end up with a Magic Resistance type of magic effect.

Choosing this path is like placing a bet.

Lying on the coffin lid, Gu Xi quickly analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of these three skills.

He already had a preference in his heart. Faced with strengthening part of the combat power or betting on random opportunities during each summoning, Gu Xi preferred to take the safer route.

”Upgrade, choose Enlightenment!”

With Gu Xi’s command, a golden light fell on the lying Gu Xi.

Gu Xi only felt a warmth spread through his body, instantly reviving his spirit that had been somewhat waned due to the cold wind.

Looking at the newly enhanced attributes, Gu Xi’s eyes lit up.

With 1300 magic power, in a large-scale battle, Gu Xi could use Corpse Burst to make the enemy question their existence.

Not to mention the other increased attributes, it’s clear this world is a treasure trove, leveling up here is faster than elsewhere.

At the same time, Gu Xi noticed that after choosing Enlightenment, which is a passive skill, and reaching Level 4, he gained an additional 1 free attribute point.

Now Gu Xi was studying his attributes, pondering where to allocate this attribute point.

Normally, as a mage, even as an Undead Mage, he should increase intelligence.

After all, the power of a spell is directly related to intelligence.

Although increasing intelligence doesn’t enhance the power of Soul Summoning Skill, the increase in Mana is clearly beneficial.

What’s most feared by a mage on the battlefield isn’t close combat but running out of mana.

Gu Xi naturally has Death Incarnation, a mana-draining skill, and the current rise in mana is actually beneficial for him.

With these thoughts, lying on the coffin lid, Gu Xi chuckled.

Several ghosts heard his laughter and glanced back at Gu Xi, finding nothing wrong, they didn’t interfere.

And the Evil Coffin, least interested in Gu Xi’s affairs, simply set a course and flew in one direction.

Soon, Gu Xi, wrapped in a quilt, noticed a change in the surrounding environment, with significantly less snow and ice, and the nearby peaks transforming into a translucent shade of blue.

Amidst these peaks lay a small path composed of ice.

Checking the map, Gu Xi understood this was the closest path to Scattered Immortal Garden, known as Ice Net Valley.
