The undead corps that had just slain the Deceitful Shadow Boss decisively changed direction upon hearing Gu Xi’s orders.

The ghosts that initially attacked the Deceitful Shadow Boss but didn’t achieve much were the first to rush towards the deceitful shadows.

They needed to prove themselves with more achievements.

When these ghosts pounced on the deceitful shadows, they didn’t give the shadows any chance. With one swipe, the deceitful shadow was killed on the spot, turning into a pile of deceitful energy pearls on the ground.

At this moment, Gu Xi finally exhaled a sigh of relief. He stood atop the Evil Coffin, leaning on the Cold Wind Staff, watching the battlefield in front of him.

He himself hadn’t expected that his own power could hold the enemy for so long.

Most importantly, his spells had just successfully slain at least eighty or ninety deceitful shadows.

Now Gu Xi could fully claim to be a mage, capable of controlling the battlefield even without the undead.

After laughing, Gu Xi sat down heavily, sitting on the Evil Coffin and watching the battle ahead.

The number of deceitful shadows was already low, and the fifty-two ghosts, eager to prove their combat power, were steadily taking down these deceitful shadows one by one.

Unbeknownst to them, they even managed to take down two more Deceitful Shadow Bosses hidden among the deceitful shadows.

Seeing the ghosts had crossed the bridge to the other side and were about to charge into the Upper City District, Gu Xi couldn’t help but turn his head to look at the remaining undead behind him.

”What are you standing around for? Follow them! Clear the deceitful shadows on the bridge and take the Upper City District for me first.”

Only then did the undead corps react, with some charging straight to the other end of the bridge, while others followed behind the bosses.

Regardless, in less than a minute, all the undead on the bridge had invaded the Upper City District, leaving Gu Xi alone sitting on the coffin lid at the bridgehead, looking at the deceitful energy pearls scattered all over the ground.

He even noticed that the spot where the Deceitful Shadow Boss died had a few items left that hadn’t turned into deceitful energy pearls.

Curious, Gu Xi jumped down from the Evil Coffin, holding his Cold Wind Staff, and walked over.

At the spot where the Deceitful Shadow Boss died, Gu Xi saw three items on the ground: a slightly curled arm, a heart-like object, and a mass of black energy.

Gu Xi immediately picked up the curled arm, as the combat power of those arms on the Deceitful Shadow Boss left a deep impression on him.

[You have obtained Deceitful Immortal Hand (Blue)]

[Deceitful Immortal Hand (Blue, Ornament)]

[Defense: 5]

[Equipped: Constitution +2]

[Equipment Requirement: Constitution 2]

[Special 1: Extreme Resistance, Shield skill level +1, black arms appear at the edge of shield skills to compensate for defensive gaps, blocking part of the attack for the user.]

[Special 2: Catcher, upon wearing this ornament, a protective layer against ranged damage automatically forms around the wearer, reducing the impact of some ranged attacks]

[Description: Isn’t defense just about having a hand?]

Looking at the attributes of [Deceitful Immortal Hand], Gu Xi knew it was meant for tanks.

If this item was taken to the Scattered Immortal Garden, it’s believed three Dragon Blood Crystals wouldn’t be an issue.

After all, its two attributes directly target what tanks love most.

As Gu Xi acquired the [Deceitful Immortal Hand], a thought crossed his mind.

Should he try this equipment and see if his Bone Shield counts as a shield skill?

But Gu Xi quickly dismissed the idea and reached for the heart-like object.

[You have obtained the Twisted Giant Tree Seed (Supporting)]

[Twisted Giant Tree Seed (Supporting): Can acquire the method to construct supporting buildings like the Twisted Giant Tree. Upon mastery, a twisted giant tree can be planted in the city at the cost of 100 negative energy.]

[Twisted Giant Tree (Supporting): A decorative building within the city. Each construction grants the city +1 experience.]

This situation took Gu Xi by surprise. He didn’t expect it to be an architectural design plan.

However, this appeared to be a supporting building design plan without additional attributes.

This significantly enriched the decorations of Yalidu City.

Initially, Yalidu only had street lamps as supporting buildings.

After swallowing the Walrus Graveyard, due to the Pier District, another supporting building, the boat dock, was added.

Now, the twisted giant tree has also joined in.

Gu Xi believed his city would become increasingly beautiful.

With a smile, Gu Xi reached for the black energy mass.

At first, Gu Xi thought it was a large cluster of deceitful energy pearls, considering the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s combat power impressed him, it shouldn’t have left so few pearls after being slain.

But once Gu Xi picked it up, he realized he was mistaken.

This wasn’t a large cluster of deceitful energy pearls; it was clearly the most valuable prize from this battle.

[You have obtained Deceitful Shadow Substitute (3/3)]

[Deceitful Shadow Substitute (3/3): A rule-type item, capable of erasing the penalty effect on a deceitful item or equipment of purple quality or higher, reducing the impact received when using such items. The Deceitful Shadow Substitute can be used three times in total.]

Just by seeing the attributes of [Deceitful Shadow Substitute], Gu Xi knew he had hit the jackpot.

Deceitful items, purple equipment, rule-type items, Gu Xi had encountered them all.

Honestly, these items were good, but the penalties were severe.

Like the purple ring Gu Xi sold to a fat man last time; just by looking at the penalties, Gu Xi wasn’t inclined to use it.

What good is excellent equipment if it ends up turning oneself into neither human nor ghost?

However, the presence of the [Deceitful Shadow Substitute] brought something different to Gu Xi.

Whether it’s erasing the penalty effect or reducing its impact, it’s a good thing.

And the three erasures allowed Gu Xi to imagine the scene of acquiring purple equipment.

Carefully putting away the [Deceitful Shadow Substitute], Gu Xi fondled the Cold Wind Staff, murmuring softly.

”Staff, oh staff, you must reach purple quality soon.”

As Gu Xi spoke, the battle in the Upper City District was nearing its end.

The ghosts charged ahead, and the houses couldn’t withstand their impact. The deceitful shadows hiding inside barely had time to react before being driven out by the ghosts and swiftly slain by the ensuing undead attack.

Initially, the deceitful shadows in the Upper City District intended to put up some resistance.

But as a few of the strongest deceitful shadows were killed, their ranks were quickly dismantled.

One by one, the deceitful shadows turned into deceitful energy pearls on the ground, and houses were emptied. Finally, Luna, far away at the Assembly Hall, saw a notification on the map.

No more enemies in the Upper City District.

Takeover begins!
