Buzz!

As he passed by the first pier, Gu Xi heard the sound of bowstrings being released.

He looked up in the direction of the sound and found the Skeleton Shooter Boss, who had just joined his squad, leading 29 skeleton shooters to conduct a long-range attack on the strange enemies at the dock.

Looking at the strange ships docked at the pier and a group of coral people covered in seaweed trying to disembark, Gu Xi remembered this was the most troublesome of the three docks.

Mysterious Pier.

It seems this ship of coral people is the anomaly that came to attack the Pier District of Yalidu City.

They came here to plunder, and once ashore, they immediately began transforming the ground into coral, preparing to rush to the nearest Wharf Warehouse.

As for the skeleton soldiers originally arranged here for patrol, they were turned into coral by these strange coral creatures before they could react.

Thus, the number of strange coral people rushing from the ship suddenly increased from the original 6 to 18.

If the Skeleton Shooter Boss hadn’t received the message and brought people over to handle the anomaly, the number of these strange coral people would likely be even higher now.

As it stands now.

From what Gu Xi could see, the situation was under control.

The performance of the Skeleton Shooter Boss was quite impressive.

His judgment of the battlefield was quite accurate, and he had several attack strategies. Although he couldn’t speak, a single gesture would synchronize the skeleton shooters behind him into different attacks, without the need for precise commands.

What Gu Xi was witnessing was focusing on the boss together, controlling the range of arrow rain, and executing triple consecutive shots in batches, among other tactics.

These were things Gu Xi could not accomplish when commanding the skeleton shooters.

Under Gu Xi’s command, the most he could manage was directing them at a target, but as for how to attack, it was all up to fate.

But now, it was different. Gu Xi observed that the Skeleton Shooter Boss was managing everything before him with ease.

Those initially arrogant strange coral people were held back at a distance of 150 meters from the skeleton shooters, unable to advance a single step forward.

If the Skeleton Shooter Boss were not still training his subordinates in coordination, he would have already wiped out these strange coral people.

When Gu Xi appeared, the Skeleton Shooter Boss was also quickly energized, seemingly aware that Gu Xi was observing. He wanted to demonstrate his abilities in front of Gu Xi.

So, with a forward wave of his hand, the previously stationary skeleton archer team started advancing.

Their movements were just like those of the long spear skeletons in Combat Squad 1, continuously repeating a series of deconstructed actions.

Step forward, draw the bow, shoot, load a new arrow, and let the remaining skeleton shooters move forward.

This wave after wave of attacks was like a tide.

Each time they attacked, they could take the life of two to three coral people. In as few as seven or eight steps, all the coral people were nailed to the dock.

When these coral people were killed, their bodies shrank rapidly, leaving behind nothing but coral of various colors.

Meanwhile, the strange ship docked at the pier had lowered its sails and began to sink into the water.

Gu Xi watched the sinking speed of the strange ship, estimating that it could last about a day. It seemed this had been pre-set, as defeating the ship’s sailors meant there was roughly a day to plunder the supplies aboard.

”Luna, I’ll wait here, you go inform Kane to send people to move the stuff.”

Luna quickly retreated after hearing this, while Gu Xi, wielding the Cold Wind Staff, immediately jumped onto the enigmatic ship.

The ship before him was clearly one that had been submerged underwater for who knows how many years and had already fused with the coral.

At least the deck had been coralized. When Gu Xi stepped onto it, he could distinctly feel a special force emanating from beneath, seemingly attempting to transform him into a coral person.

However, Gu Xi’s current strength was sufficient. He plunged the Cold Wind Staff into the deck, switching it to defensive mode, and its five-meter-long vines continuously whipped the ground.

Simultaneously, numerous metal fragments, resembling flying knives, wove in and out of the ground, piercing downward.

After seven or eight strikes, the deck on which Gu Xi stood was broken open, revealing a water-leaking cabin below, where a Mysterious Treasure Chest covered in coral lay.

At that moment, half of the Mysterious Treasure Chest was already submerged in water.

Gu Xi understood that if he hadn’t broken through the deck, he would have missed this Mysterious Treasure Chest by the time it fully sank into the water.

Reaching out to grasp the Cold Wind Staff, the staff’s vines rolled him towards the treasure chest.

Mere contact with the chest made Gu Xi feel as if the coral were coming alive, attempting to prevent him from opening it.

But Gu Xi wasn’t going to have any of it. Upon seeing such resistance, he casually whipped out the Shattering Staff and smashed it down hard.

With this blow, he forced back the advancing coral.

Taking this opportunity, Gu Xi opened the chest.

”I...”

Looking at the treasure chest before him, Gu Xi was left speechless.

He didn’t see anything else, he just saw the words Sacred Artifact.

Gu Xi had heard about this during his school years.

Every game generates 5 to 10 Sacred Artifacts, but no one knows where these Sacred Artifacts are hidden or how to acquire them.

It’s not something you can obtain by completing a task; it depends on luck.

Sometimes, when luck strikes, even a stone picked up by the roadside could be a Sacred Artifact.

Right now, it seemed Gu Xi’s luck had arrived. Although he didn’t know what this Sacred Artifact was, having it was enough for Gu Xi.
