Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 143: Chapter 141: Assigning Tasks

”Sir, are you preparing for battle?”

In the tavern, Gu Xi was discussing the intelligence of the two districts with the barmaid, when suddenly Di Mi leaned in.

Due to her height, Di Mi stood much taller than Gu Xi, and when she spoke, Gu Xi felt something soft pressing down on his head.

”Yes, it’s time to take over the other two districts.”

Gu Xi spoke while pointing at the two pieces of intelligence in his hands, which were obtained through great efforts by the barmaid and her subordinates.

[Upper City District, covering an area of 1.2 square kilometers, population 3,229 (Deceitful Shadow). Once occupied, three large plots, four medium plots, six small plots, and one core plot (restricted to building Magic Tower) are available.]

[Tower Bridge (Garrison Attack +2), Upper City Defense Office, stationed with 400 Deceitful Shadows (Level 2), 150 Deceitful Shadows (Level 3), 60 Deceitful Shadows (Level 4), one Deceitful Shadow Boss (Level 5, Berserk Type, Attack 11), one Deceitful Shadow Boss (Level 5, Mage Type, master of Ice Cone Skill), one Deceitful Shadow Boss (Level 6, Composite Type, Elite).]

[Once Tower Bridge is taken, one large plot can be obtained (suitable for constructing large bridges).]

[Special Note: It seems there is a special power in Upper City District. Please be cautious!]

[Medieval District, covering an area of 1.1 square kilometers, population 4,533 (Deceitful Shadow). Once occupied, three large plots, six medium plots, and seven small plots are available.]

[Ancient City Gate (Garrison Defense +3), Medieval District Defense Office, stationed with 260 Deceitful Shadows (Level 2), 80 Deceitful Shadows (Level 3), one Deceitful Shadow Boss (Level 4, Defense Type, Defense 28), one Deceitful Shadow Boss (Level 5, Knight Type, master of Charge).]

[Once Ancient City Gate is taken, one large plot can be obtained (suitable for building City Gate and Arrow Tower).]

Looking at the intelligence before him, Gu Xi was filled with regret; if he had known the enemy’s strength was like this, he would have dealt with it much earlier.

Being questioned by Di Mi like that, Gu Xi appeared confident.

”These two places should have been taken long ago; Yalidu City should maintain its necessary completeness.

After I take these two districts, the next target will be Yalidov Tower.”

”Sir, there aren’t strong enemies inside Yalidu City, but Yalidov Tower is different. From the intelligence I have, it’s a key area with forces stronger than these two districts combined.”

The barmaid, with her hands supporting her chin and hollow eyes seemingly blinking lashes, seemed to be saying,

”You should come and beg me, beg me and I’ll help you gather the intelligence.”

But the barmaid also didn’t realize, with her skeleton face, who would actually like her?

Even a pretty skeleton wouldn’t do.

Unable to stand the barmaid’s gaze, Gu Xi was about to turn his head when he felt his head being held down by Di Mi.

”Sir, do you need me to dismantle this pile of bones for you?”

”No, there’s no need.”

Gu Xi twisted his body, trying hard to extricate himself from the cotton-like feeling.

”Barmaid, you help me keep an eye on the Yalidov Tower situation.

Furthermore, after I take over the entire Yalidu City, new enemies will surely emerge nearby. I need you to stay alert and find out all the enemy’s intelligence, don’t let the enemy come in while I know nothing.”

”Alright, alright, don’t worry, I will keep a close watch on this matter, but sir, we are just a bunch of people selling wine and smiles, you can’t put all the scouting responsibilities on us.

If we really had such skills, we wouldn’t be stuck inside the city all the time, unable to go out.”

”I know, I will remember this matter, but right now there’s no manpower, and Shaya hasn’t returned, so this task can only be handed over to you for now.”

Gu Xi made a gesture indicating he had other things to do, and ran out of the tavern with the two pieces of intelligence in hand.

When Gu Xi left, the barmaid took out a glass of Rat Wine and placed it in front of Di Mi.

”I say, madam, what’s the point of this? If you truly have nothing to do, just find a coffin and bury yourself, stop interfering with my flirtations, okay?”

Di Mi drank the Rat Wine in one gulp and then casually put the rat into her mouth to chew.

”You, go put a fake skin on yourself first, I might be idle, but I can be very useful later.”

”What use could you be, lifting a blessing high?”

Di Mi rolled her eyes and chose to ignore the barmaid’s words.

By this time, Gu Xi had already arrived at the square in front of the Yaliduwei City Gate.

This was where Gu Xi usually gathered his troops.

Gu Xi’s Bone-Slaying Camp and various assembled troops had all arrived.

Those with an organization followed behind their leaders, while those without were all gathered together, waiting for Gu Xi’s orders.

”Luna, is everyone here?”

Standing on a coffin lid, Gu Xi handed the intelligence reports to Luna.

”Everyone is here.”

”Alright, later Death Incarnation will attack the Medieval District, while we will go for the Upper City District. You should keep an eye on the situation in the rear, regardless if I first secure the Upper City District or if Death Incarnation first secures the Medieval District, you must occupy the district immediately.”

”Don’t worry, the expansion of the city benefits me the most, I will keep an eye on everything.”

With Luna’s reassurance, Gu Xi felt at ease.

Among all the undead subordinates, Gu Xi trusted Luna the most.

After clarifying the matters, Gu Xi led all the troops towards the large bridge in the Upper City District.

At this time, Death Incarnation was already standing at the bridge waiting.

Due to the level and aura of Death Incarnation, even though he hadn’t entered the Tower Bridge’s range, the Deceitful Shadows on the bridge had already lined up.

The number of these Deceitful Shadows was significant, but most importantly, they seemed to have received some command and were now forming a battle array on the bridge.

When Gu Xi arrived, he saw a three-meter-tall Composite Deceitful Shadow climbing to the highest point of the tower, commanding the troops below.

This Deceitful Shadow was the strongest on this side of the Upper City District; now it looked like a mass over three meters high, resembling a form made up of countless arms.

With each breath, all the arms on it spread wide open, resembling a flower blooming rapidly.

Seeing such an eerie presence, Chen Gu was not surprised but rather calmly ordered,

”This side is ours to handle. Death Incarnation, your target is the Medieval District. First, attack their city gate. I don’t care what method you use to kill all the Deceitful Shadows in the city.

If you feel seriously injured, retreat to the Dragon Bone Laboratory to recover and replenish blood. Don’t worry about the enemy attacking our district.”

Initially, when Gu Xi said that this side was in his hands, Death Incarnation was somewhat dissatisfied.

But with Gu Xi’s command issued, the black mist around Death Incarnation grew thicker.

In Death Incarnation’s view, Gu Xi willing to assign a district for him to handle meant trust, and as for which district, it didn’t matter much to him.

So, Death Incarnation rose high, circled once in the sky, and then flew towards the Medieval District.

At this time, Gu Xi looked at the Deceitful Shadows on the bridge and leveled his Cold Wind Staff.

”Come on!”
