[Description: As a mage, charging forward with a staff will be the most beautiful spell one can cast in their life.]

Looking at the long magic staff in front of him, Gu Xi wasn’t in a rush to give it a name, he reached out and lifted it.

The moment he took hold of the long magic staff, Gu Xi understood why it required 2 points of Power to equip.

This staff is taller than Gu Xi, without sufficient power, Gu Xi couldn’t lift it with both hands.

Unlike now, Gu Xi can lift it with just one hand, using it like a long spear.

”There are wooden figures over there, you can experiment with the staff’s effects there.”

”Alright.”

Gu Xi nodded in agreement, and under the guidance of the blacksmith apprentice, he arrived at the training field near the blacksmith shop.

Unlike training fields in other places, besides upright wooden figures serving as targets here, there are also some lying on the ground.

Gu Xi was startled and immediately understood that these were meant for the corpses needed by the Undead Mage to simulate.

This made Gu Xi quite satisfied, as many of his skills require corpses to be unleashed.

”Bone Spike!”

Gu Xi turned his hand, the 2.5-meter-long staff was lifted horizontally, and a Bone Spike flew out.

As the Bone Spike shot out, Gu Xi clearly felt it was different from before.

The previous Bone Spikes were white bone, but now it carries a light blue hue.

When the Bone Spike hit the wooden figure, a dark blue aura appeared on it.

Having fought alongside Luna, Gu Xi understood that this was the freezing effect, it seems the Cold Wind +3 effect is quite good.

Then Gu Xi turned the direction of the staff, pointing at a wooden figure on the ground, and said, ”Corpse Burst!”

The wooden figure exploded on the spot, and the targets hit by the wooden fragments nearby all turned dark blue.

After a few more tries, Gu Xi found the current staff effects quite satisfactory.

As long as he pointed forward, spells could be cast smoothly, and Gu Xi could clearly feel a slight increase in the spell’s power.

Even the newly learned Wraith Whiskers and Bone Storm had enhancements, so the first trait provided a substantial boost to Gu Xi’s combat power.

Of course, the biggest change was in the Bone Shield.

When Gu Xi activated the Bone Shield, a layer of ice appeared on it, the Bone Shield’s level increased to Level 2, and the Bone Shield around Gu Xi became prominent.

This gave Gu Xi the idea of embedding more items onto the staff.

However, Gu Xi also knew that items like Rotten Skull are rare and hard to come by.

If not for the opportunity to fuse it during the staff’s creation, the Rotten Skull couldn’t have been used for embedding.

Next time he wants to embed, it would have to be something special.

Gu Xi had tested the first trait of the staff.

The effect is indeed excellent.

So he started experimenting with the second trait.

However, Gu Xi couldn’t find a way to activate the staff’s transformation after searching for a long time. The staff remained the same length as when he acquired it, with no possibility of extending.

This left Gu Xi a bit speechless.

Could it be that the second trait is useless?

With a puzzled expression, Gu Xi still wanted to experiment more, after all, there’s a trait there.

If not handled properly, this staff would be no better than a green quality staff.

Feeling somewhat helpless, Gu Xi could only rest the staff on the ground, seriously contemplating where he might have gone wrong.

Unexpectedly, he accidentally applied some force, driving the staff into the ground.

Then the staff surprisingly began to transform, as new vines started sprouting from the top, each containing metallic pieces resembling vertebral joints.

This sight brightened Gu Xi’s eyes, and he hurriedly pulled the staff out of the ground, only to find it had reverted to its original form.

After a few attempts, Gu Xi understood what was going on.

Only by embedding the staff into the ground would the transformation occur.

After the transformation, the staff wouldn’t be under Gu Xi’s control; it would silently protect him, with anyone trying to approach Gu Xi being struck by the vines and vertebral metals.

However, due to the limited length of the vines, the protective range was about five meters.

As for the defensive and offensive effects of these vines and metal pieces, since there weren’t any attack-type wooden figures in the training field, Gu Xi couldn’t test them.

Nonetheless, Gu Xi had finally realized the purpose of this second trait, and its effects were quite sufficient, at least it wasn’t a wasted skill.

After trying out some more skills, Gu Xi nodded in satisfaction.

He had to admit, the staff’s function was quite strong, greatly enhancing Gu Xi’s various combat abilities.

This was a worthwhile use of so many materials he provided.

A pleased Gu Xi carried the staff back to the blacksmith shop.

Before Gu Xi could speak, the blacksmith apprentice conveyed the recorded information to the blacksmith.

The blacksmith nodded in satisfaction, ”Great, I have another renowned piece of equipment. So, have you decided on a name for your staff?”

”Yes, I’ve decided. The staff’s greatest feature is the Cold Wind, this trait significantly boosts my combat power, so I’ll name it Cold Wind. When it reaches purple quality, I’ll rename it according to its changes.”

Gu Xi had already thought about the staff’s name on his way back, and he had plans on how to manage it going forward.

”Cold Wind? That’s a good name, seems like you really like this staff.”

”Of course, this staff is truly exceptional.”

”Alright then, the cost of crafting the weapon is 3000 yuan, would you like to pay now or go through the guild process?”

”I’ll pay now.”

Gu Xi didn’t know what the guild process involved, but he happened to have some money on hand, avoiding any cumbersome procedures.

As for whether the staff was expensive, Gu Xi didn’t think much about it, he felt the Cold Wind Staff was well worth the price.

After receiving the payment, the blacksmith said to Gu Xi, ”You can find time to enchant your staff. With Cold Wind’s traits, enchanting with Frost Soul or Realm of Death would be good.

Also, if you want to inlay gems, you can check the jeweler’s shop, they have some good gems for sale.”
