Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 131: Chapter 129: Accepting a Long-Term Quest (23/123)

Seeing that Gu Xi got angry, the onlookers quickly dispersed, leaving only the frail Undead Mage still sitting there.

When most of the people had left, he propped himself up, ”Sorry to trouble you.”

”It’s nothing. This has nothing to do with you; it’s those guys who got too bold.”

Gu Xi patted the head of the Death Incarnation.

Since there was no battle, the time the Death Incarnation could remain outside wasn’t very long.

Normally, it would disperse on its own after the battle ended, or disappear half an hour after the battle concluded.

Now it had reached the time when the Death Incarnation was to disappear, and Gu Xi was patting its head while scanning the players present.

The killing intent in his eyes was so intense it seemed ready to drip.

Gu Xi wanted to make an example, to let the players in the Scattered Immortal Garden understand that he was not easy to deal with.

If they wanted to scheme against him, they should be prepared to be bitten to death by him.

Looking around, he found that no one dared to meet his gaze, and Gu Xi sneered disdainfully.

”Cowardly bunch.”

Then Gu Xi said to Du Wushuang, ”Let’s go. There’s nothing to sell here, so we’re going to the Blacksmith Shop.”

Though so many things had just happened, Du Wushuang had been watching from the sidelines the whole time. With her strength, even if she wanted to help, she couldn’t really be of assistance.

When Gu Xi called her, she quickly responded and hurried over to his side.

At this moment, the frail Undead Mage also stepped forward.

”Shall we find a place to talk?”

Gu Xi was slightly taken aback; he had originally wanted to say there was nothing to discuss between them, but after meeting the frail Undead Mage’s gaze, he nodded.

The frail Undead Mage gestured forward, leading Gu Xi to a nearby corner.

”My name is Liu Kai, though some call me Kane. Those people who were looking for you earlier are subordinates of Liu Ming, who is my brother. They have always been sabotaging my chances to activate my talent.”

Liu Kai was quite direct in explaining the situation and also described his traits.

”I’m on the Plague Element Undead Mage path, and the method to activate my talent requires consuming five hundred different Magic Potions, which can be poisons or cures, or enhancement Magic Potions.

But because of my brother, I’ve never been able to gather enough Magic Potions, and in the end, I’ve had to learn to brew Magic Potions myself, and even obtained a Magic Potion Making certificate.

The batch of Potions you sold me solved my biggest problem; I’ve now met the prerequisites for talent activation and can proceed.

Before that, I thought I should make things clear to you about this matter.

After all, my brother is a petty person, and if you encounter him, just fight back. Only by scaring him off will he not dare to provoke you again.”

”I see. I understand, family conflicts.”

Gu Xi nodded, ”But you mentioned there are prerequisites for activating talent. What kind of conditions are those?”

”Every player’s prerequisites are different, but one thing is certain; the Undead Knowledge and Magic Knowledge must reach Level 6, and the Undead Mage’s Professional Skills must reach 8, with each skill at least Level 4.

Take note here, the choice of Professional Skills will affect the direction of your talent activation.

If you want to follow my path of the Plague Element Undead Mage, you must grasp the two key skills, Poison Gas Bomb and Corpse Poison Skill, early on.

Moreover, the choice is not based on which you learn first but ranked by skill level, selecting the strongest eight skills for determination.

After meeting these two conditions, you can start the prerequisite quest, and upon completing the quest, you can begin the activation ritual.”

As Liu Kai explained the activation of talent, Gu Xi listened intently.

Finally, he turned to look at the Death Incarnation behind him, thinking about his own Death City.

These two were his key skills, and when his level rose to Level 4, the Death Incarnation also reached Level 4.

The Death City, however, required an upgrade in City Level.

Currently, Gu Xi’s Yalidu City was only Level 2, and raising the Death City to Level 4 would take a considerable amount of time.

”Too far off, it seems I still have to work hard.”

Liu Kai nodded in agreement, ”Yes, a lot of people are stuck at the crucial point of Level 4 because of insufficient accumulation. The impact caused by Liu Ming this time has just allowed me further growth.

After I activate my talent, it will be his unlucky time.”

Liu Kai said seriously.

Seeing Liu Kai’s face filled with hatred, and recalling the attitude of those Undead Mages earlier, Gu Xi didn’t say much.

At this moment, Liu Kai said to Gu Xi, ”Sir, all these years, you are the only one willing to help me. Here is a quest clue I obtained unintentionally, which is very useful for activating talent.

I previously took some advantage on this quest, but since you provided enough Potions, I don’t need it anymore, so I’m sharing this quest with you now.”

With that, Liu Kai took out something that looked like a withered weed and placed it in Gu Xi’s hand.

[You have received the withered Tree of Wisdom bark map, activating long-term quest]

[Long-term Quest: Disappearing Wisdom]

[Quest Description: Find the lost Tree of Wisdom and help it locate three items.]

[Quest Requirements: Locate the lost Tree of Wisdom (0/1), find three items (0/3)]

[Quest Reward: One Professional Skill Level increases to Level 4.]

[Note 1: Some restricted skill levels cannot be increased.]

[Note 2: After the level increases, the Experience needed for upgrades will also increase.]

[Note 3: If all Professional Skills exceed Level 4, you will automatically learn a new Professional Skill at Level 4.]

Looking at the quest in front of him, Gu Xi knew what Liu Kai had been plotting all along.

He clearly wanted to bypass some of the prerequisites for activating talent, but for some reason, he hadn’t used it.

Now needing to activate his talent, doing this quest would be wasteful, so he decided to pass it on to Gu Xi.

On one hand, it was to thank Gu Xi for his help; on the other hand, it was to curry favor with Gu Xi.

After all, everyone was aware of Gu Xi’s strength.

As long as Gu Xi remained alive, even without activating talent or reaching Level 5, his Level 12 Death Incarnation could still sweep the low-end fields.

With such an opportunity, it was something everyone would want to do to form an alliance with Gu Xi.

Gu Xi glanced at Liu Kai, then smiled and said, ”Thank you, this will come in handy.”

”I’m glad it will be useful to you. I was worried you wouldn’t like it.”
