Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 135: Chapter 133: Halftime Break (25/125)

After leaving the Blacksmith Shop, Gu Xi was still happily caressing the Cold Wind Staff, while Du Wushuang, who had been by his side, leaned over.

”Buddy, do you have any plans next?”

”Nope, I was part of the transport unit that came here. Getting here basically completed my mission. The previous garrison was just a temporary encounter, so I joined in. As for where to go next, I don’t really have any plans.

But I should check if there’s any task I can take next, since even if I leave now, I’ll definitely be assigned back here.”

Gu Xi was very clear about the current situation.

The event of enemy invasion isn’t over yet.

Logging off the game at this time might just lead to other tasks being assigned.

If that’s the case, running back and forth without getting as many rewards isn’t worth it.

Instead, it’s better to hang around here in the Scattered Immortal Garden and wait for the invasion incident to end.

In that last battle, Gu Xi clearly felt that the strength of the enemies was diminishing.

At first, the Otherworldly Ghost Bosses Gu Xi fought were all Level 9, accompanied by Level 10 or 11 soldiers.

Later, when fighting on this plain, the Otherworldly Ghost Bosses were only Level 9, with no strong soldiers beside them.

Even later, during this city defense battle, Gu Xi encountered Otherworldly Ghost Bosses that were at an even weaker Level 8.

This indicates the enemy’s strength is weakening.

A few more times like this, the enemy invasion will be almost over, so if I don’t take this opportunity to deal some more damage, when else will I?

Hearing that Gu Xi was going to stay for a few more days, excitement immediately flashed in Du Wushuang’s eyes.

”You just arrived at the Scattered Immortal Garden and probably don’t have a place to stay, right? The taverns here at Scattered Immortal Garden are not comfortable. As a friend, I’ll help you out and let you stay at my place for a few days.

I won’t charge you for accommodation, and you don’t charge me for anything else.”

”What else could I charge you for?”

Gu Xi asked puzzledly, and before he could understand, Du Wushuang had already dragged him off in a direction.

At this moment, Gu Xi realized that despite Du Wushuang’s small stature, she was incredibly strong.

Gu Xi had no power to resist, and with a pull, she easily carried him away.

Gu Xi wanted to struggle a bit, but Du Wushuang simply hoisted him onto her shoulder and ran toward her house in large strides.

Du Wushuang was very familiar with the roads in the Scattered Immortal Garden.

In just seven or eight minutes, they reached the house she rented in Scattered Immortal Garden.

The city above ground in Scattered Immortal Garden was quite crowded. Du Wushuang wasn’t the strongest in the Scattered Immortal Garden.

Her room was only about twenty square meters, with just a bed, a sofa, and a dining table, while the rest of the space was occupied by her weapons, equipment, and armor.

Comparing this room with the Guild’s apartment building, it was vastly different.

However, considering the conditions in the Scattered Immortal Garden, as long as one wasn’t living in the Lower City District, most people lived in such small rooms. For players stationed here, having a place to stay was enough.

After all, they usually went out of the city for their missions and didn’t actually stay here much.

Du Wushuang was the same, she opened the door with ease, then dropped Gu Xi on the sofa first.

Only then did she turn to Gu Xi and say:

”Sit tight, I’ll get us a drink.”

After saying this, Du Wushuang pushed aside a pile of armor beside the bed and pulled out a wooden box from below. When she opened it, a cold air rushed out, and as it dissipated, numerous wooden barrels of various sizes could be seen inside.

Gu Xi was looking around at everything around him.

He noticed some fabric with little pink strawberries thrown casually on the sofa.

At just a glance, Gu Xi’s face turned red.

What’s going on here, did I just see something I shouldn’t have, should I leave now?

But she did invite me over to sit down; leaving now doesn’t seem appropriate.

Maybe it’s okay to sit a bit longer.

Gu Xi lowered his head, trying hard not to look around.

At least, he shouldn’t rush to search the room.

At that moment, Du Wushuang walked over with two two-liter barrels in her hands.

”Try this, it’s a specialty of the Scattered Immortal Garden, Crystal Wine.”

”Ah!”

Before Gu Xi could react to what was happening, a large barrel of wine was shoved into his hand.

”If you’re a man, down it in one go.”

Du Wushuang was very assertive, without waiting for Gu Xi to look inside the wooden barrel, she clinked her barrel against his.

”I’m downing mine, you do as you like.”

This roused Gu Xi’s competitive spirit.

”What do you mean by you do yours and I do as I please? I’m a grown man; I won’t back down.”

Mumbling this, Gu Xi opened his mouth and poured the wine into his stomach.

This Crystal Wine contained numerous tiny crystal shards, and while the taste wasn’t too strong when drinking, the feeling of the crystals sliding down the throat was quite peculiar.

Most importantly, the crystals carried a certain amount of Magic Power.

Once consumed, it created a sensation akin to flames.

After just one sip, Gu Xi felt his whole body burning, wanting nothing more than to strip off all his clothes.

But Gu Xi had enough sensibility to know this wasn’t the time. Blushing, he restrained some of his movements to avoid appearing too indecent.

Unexpectedly, before Gu Xi could quell the fire within his heart, Du Wushuang sidled over.

She grabbed his collar, lifted a leg to press against him, her eyes staring into his.

”Do you think I’m pretty?”

Gu Xi glanced at Du Wushuang and realized that she was actually quite good-looking.

It’s just that with Gu Xi being tall and usually sitting on the Evil Coffin, he mostly saw Du Wushuang’s head and hadn’t seriously looked at her before.

Now, with Du Wushuang staring right at him, Gu Xi unexpectedly found her to be quite adorable.

There was even a hint of dodging emotion in her eyes.

”Pretty, really pretty, exactly the kind of little round face I like.”

”Good, then. You just drank the Crystal Wine, close your eyes and don’t resist.”

”Wait, what do you mean, don’t resist?”

Before Gu Xi could grasp what that meant, Du Wushuang lifted him and tossed him onto the bed.

When he landed, several small pieces of fabric rolled up on Du Wushuang’s bed got thrown into the air; a black piece even drifted down onto Gu Xi’s face.

As Gu Xi was about to pull it off, his hand was pinned by Du Wushuang, and then the room light switched off. In the darkness, Gu Xi couldn’t help but say, ”Something fell on my face, and it’s warm. You...”

”Don’t worry about that, just close your eyes. Leave everything to me.”

”Are you sure you can handle this!”
