Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 103: Chapter 101: Yin Soldiers Borrowing Passage (9/102)

Leaving the Ice Valley, crossing White Star Lake, entering Ice Net Valley, and then traveling approximately two hundred kilometers will bring you into the area controlled by the Scattered Immortal Garden.

The key locations along this route are White Star Lake and Ice Net Valley.

According to the map, Ice Net Valley is a dangerous area and requires extra caution when entering.

If you choose to avoid Ice Net Valley, you can take a detour, but that will add six hours to your journey.

The map clearly indicates that the path through Ice Net Valley is not easy to traverse.

This mountain path is called Ice Net Valley because the roads within it change unpredictably, resembling a giant net. If you don’t know the way, you could end up trapped for ten days to half a month.

So when Gu Xi identified his current position, he couldn’t help but check the time.

When he destroyed White Star Lake, Gu Xi did not stay to observe its final state.

This decision saved Gu Xi some time.

Now there is about one day and seventy-eight hours left until the mission deadline.

If he chooses the detour, the six hours spent, plus the more than two hundred kilometers, will make him very pressed for time.

But if he doesn’t take the detour and directly enters Ice Net Valley, Gu Xi is uncertain if he can get through smoothly.

After all, just standing at the entrance of Ice Net Valley, he could already see many large and small ice paths.

These ice paths are like spider webs, and nobody knows where you’ll exit if you enter a passageway. If everything goes smoothly, as the map suggests, it should take about an hour to traverse Ice Net Valley as long as you don’t take a wrong turn or encounter trouble.

But if things don’t go smoothly, Gu Xi could be the only one trapped in Ice Net Valley for days on end.

If time wasn’t a factor, Gu Xi wouldn’t mind staying here longer, but now there’s less than a day and a half left to complete the mission.

The more critical the moment, the less likely Gu Xi is to gamble.

He rolled up the map, stood up straight, and followed the mountain ridge with his gaze, finally locating the snow line.

”We’ll take that path and detour.”

Under Gu Xi’s command, the stopped Evil Coffin ran once more.

As an Undead mount, the Evil Coffin doesn’t need rest; as long as Gu Xi can endure, it can keep running.

Gu Xi also knew that by making this choice, he had already wasted six hours. To ensure an on-time arrival, he couldn’t stop along the way.

So, Gu Xi wrapped his blanket tighter around himself and leaned further down.

”Advance at full speed, no stops along the way.”

Upon receiving Gu Xi’s command, the Evil Coffin noticeably increased its speed, and Gu Xi felt as though everything around him was moving backward rapidly, instantly flashing past his eyes.

Sometimes he didn’t even have time to react before navigating a turn, and at times he even traveled close to the mountain wall.

Initially, Gu Xi worried about choosing this route and whether there would be enough time.

Unexpectedly, the Evil Coffin surprised him.

The Evil Coffin claimed a moving speed of eighty kilometers per hour, and it truly was that fast. Even on this winding mountain path, it didn’t slow down.

It can’t go faster and faster, but it can certainly get more exciting as it runs.

By now, it’s almost as fast as a mountain racer.

The Evil Coffin even crossed a three-meter-wide cliff gap without asking Gu Xi’s permission, directly leaping across.

This indicates that the Evil Coffin is in high spirits and now Gu Xi doesn’t need to say much; he just needs to stay on it.

After running for more than three hours, Gu Xi felt that the freezing wind left his face stiff and numb, rendering him unable to speak.

It was only then that the Evil Coffin started to slow down.

Gu Xi straightened up and looked around.

”Have we arrived?”

The Evil Coffin did not respond; its speed continued to decrease and eventually came to a complete stop on the road.

Gu Xi was puzzled; he raised his hand, and Yalidu City’s gate appeared behind him, where forces awaited attack orders.

Meanwhile, the ten Ghosts who had been following Gu Xi caught up from behind.

The Evil Coffin ran so fast that they had to rush to keep pace, only just joining Gu Xi’s team.

Seeing his subordinates in position, Gu Xi’s gaze turned sharp.

He glanced around and decisively shouted:

”Come out!”

As Gu Xi’s voice fell, a sound arose from the road ahead.

”Go back.”

Gu Xi looked up to see a powerful Undead Corps on the road ahead. In the middle of this Undead Corps, a ten-meter-tall flag was held high, inscribed with the words ’Yin Soldiers Borrowing Passage, Ghosts Keep Away!’

Upon closer inspection, this Undead Corps had about four thousand five hundred soldiers, most clad in Copper Armor, wielding large blades with Ghost Soldiers full of embedded arrows.

Next to the flag stood a white-faced Big Beard in Blue Cloth, his exposed arms bulging with muscles, his open mouth revealing bloodied meat strands.

Around the Big Beard’s waist was a piece of white baboon pelt; however, the Big Beard seemed uninterested in it, casually wrapping it around his waist without much attention.

On the Big Beard’s back lay a half blood-red, half gray-white beast, resembling an ape. Even crouched, it reached a normal person’s height, though its head was relatively small with only one eye.

Just by looking at that eye, one could tell that this beast had been dead for many years.

Seeing Gu Xi, Big Beard flipped onto the beast’s back and pointed at him.

”I’ve taken this road. You take another.”

Just a glance at Big Beard’s white baboon pelt told Gu Xi that a fight was inevitable. As soon as Big Beard spoke, Gu Xi waved his hand, and the main force charged out from Yalidu City’s gate.

Gu Xi now saw that the enemy’s strength exceeded his expectations; his own forces were no match.

So Gu Xi coughed up his authority over five thousand five hundred soldiers without hesitation.

A force of five thousand five hundred immediately rushed out from behind the gate.

Once these troops charged out, they immediately locked onto the four thousand five hundred Ghost Soldiers ahead without Gu Xi needing to explain the situation. The five thousand five hundred Undead Corps proactively initiated battle.

The Sunshine Bone Corps’ Skeleton Soldiers were the first to face the enemy, while the Light Shooter Corps’ Skeleton Shooters raised their Longbows.

As for the remaining three units, they made no move yet, merely watching from their positions.

Seeing the battlefield situation, Gu Xi quickly commanded.

”Attack, all Skeleton Soldiers attack, fight them with everything we’ve got.”
