Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 116: Chapter 114: This Is Trouble

Just as the Headless Knight charged in anger, the slimes over by the old woman also received a command. They knocked over the Skeleton Soldiers in their way and began rushing towards Gu Xi.

”Luna!”

At this moment, Gu Xi felt a chill down his back, followed by a faint smile on his face.

”Ah!”

Luna flew out from behind Gu Xi and let out a sharp scream at the oncoming enemies.

”Banshee Wail!”

With the activation of this skill, many slimes that couldn’t be shot or slashed to death exploded on the spot.

However, the Headless Knight wasn’t much affected and continued charging forward.

At this time, the Heavy Armor Zombie standing in front of Gu Xi threw the Iron Hook in its hand. The hook, attached to an Iron Chain, caught the leg of the Headless Knight’s warhorse, and with a strong pull, broke the Headless Knight’s charge.

Seeing that the Headless Knight couldn’t charge, the Ghosts swiftly pounced.

Previously, Gu Xi had used Ghosts to deal with a boss of the same level of Otherworldly Ghosts. Although there were fewer Ghosts now, they still retained their abilities, whether it was attack power or the trait of being immune to half of physical attacks. They mastered it all.

Under Gu Xi’s command, the Ghosts instantly lunged forward.

The immobilized Knight’s combat power was directly halved, and with the Ghosts’ close-range attacks, there wasn’t much room for the Headless Knight to maneuver with his Long Spear.

Before long, the Headless Knight was battered to a sliver of health.

Just as the Headless Knight was about to be slain, he raised a head in his left hand to place onto his neck.

Then, the eyes on the head that was installed suddenly widened. With a shudder, it sent the Ghosts flying.

The Headless Knight then stamped heavily on the ground, retreating dozens of meters backward.

As soon as the Headless Knight landed, Gu Xi struck again.

He pointed at the location of the Headless Knight and cast a spell.

”Corpse Burst! Corpse Burst! Corpse Burst!”

It turned out that the Headless Knight landed exactly where the slimes had exploded.

After the slimes died, a pool of liquid was left on the ground.

Gu Xi was unsure if this liquid counted as a corpse, but he didn’t want the Headless Knight to have it easy, so he used the Secondary Corpse Burst skill immediately.

Turns out, the Corpse Burst was indeed effective.

The slime corpses were counted as corpses, and the explosion carried a large amount of liquid, all of which sprayed onto the Headless Knight.

The Headless Knight’s freshly restored life quickly plummeted by half, as the Ghosts charged in.

But by this time, the Headless Knight had already opened up some distance. He thrust a spear forward, instantly killing a Ghost.

In response, Gu Xi pointed to the spot where the Ghost fell.

”Corpse Burst!”

The Ghost still hanging on the Headless Knight’s Long Spear exploded on the spot.

The blast wave blew the newly installed head off the Headless Knight.

Without the newly installed head, the Headless Knight’s recently replenished life quickly drained away.

This left the Headless Knight in a precarious situation, as many Ghosts swarmed in from all sides, clawing at the Headless Knight.

Under the Ghosts’ attack, many of the Headless Knight’s actions were interrupted. Several times he tried to replace the head but was dragged down by the Ghosts before making any significant move.

Eventually, the armor on the Headless Knight was torn open, revealing gray-white skin underneath.

[Ghost (Summoned Creature) kills Otherworldly Ghost Boss (Level 9), you gain 3227 experience points (Experience +5%, level cap, excess experience stored), all summoned creatures involved in the attack each gain 33 experience points.]

”Dead? Attack!”

Upon seeing the popped-up information, Gu Xi decisively issued the command.

With one Otherworldly Ghost Boss dead, the remaining one was the one who seemed so weak, the old woman. If they didn’t take the initiative to attack now, then when?

So, Gu Xi pointed his hand and released all his forces.

The Skeleton Shooters, having just been blown away by the massive explosion, charged forward immediately.

Their range was a hundred and fifty meters, and since they were a bit too far away, they adjusted their attack angle while charging forward. Once they reached the corresponding position, all the Skeleton Shooters stopped, drew their bows, and fired a wave of arrows.

This time, the target was the old woman. As a magic user, unlike the Death Knight, she didn’t have robust armor.

Facing this barrage, the old woman had to take a step back and pressed her hands against the ground, causing numerous roots to shoot up from the ground, forming a defensive net in front of her to block the attack.

But the Skeleton Shooters did not miss this opportunity, and without pausing, a second and third wave of arrows rained down from the sky, constantly striking the old woman’s defense net.

After four volleys, the old woman could no longer hold, and the root-formed defense shield shattered while she took this opportunity to retreat over ten meters.

At the same time, the still-alive slimes beside her charged forward, intending to attack the Skeleton Shooters and buy the old woman time to retreat.

But at this moment, Gu Xi’s three skeleton units had also charged ahead.

The Skeleton Soldiers of Combat Squad 1 thrust their Long Spears towards the slimes.

Meanwhile, the Bone-Slaying Camp’s Skeleton Soldiers leaped over the slimes and chased after the old woman.

Realizing the situation was unfavorable, the old woman jumped into a crucible. The crucible sprouted legs at the bottom and, moving like a large rooster, carried the old woman into the forest.

The remaining crucibles took the initiative to face the Bone-Slaying Camp’s Skeletons, pouring out the magic potion from their pots onto the Skeletons.

[...]

As the experience notifications continued to pop up, Gu Xi knew this battle was secure, finally allowing him to breathe a sigh of relief. He turned to look beside him.

At this moment, Gu Xi discovered that Du Wushuang seemed to have disappeared.

This situation left Gu Xi somewhat puzzled.

Where did he run off to?

Just then, an explosion sounded behind Gu Xi.

He turned and saw a large blood-red hand emerging from the ground.

The giant hand, over two meters long, pushed itself off the ground. A blood-red demon with horns on its head, over five meters tall, and draped with a piece of white orangutan skin around its waist, crawled out from underground.

At the same time, the old woman, who had just escaped, returned riding her crucible. Behind her was a white-haired man clad in a white orangutan hide, holding a large Long Saber.

Following this man were more than seven hundred Ashigaru Soldiers, with crow heads, wearing conical hats, and clad in Zha Armor.

Seeing the situation before him, Gu Xi’s expression also turned serious.

”This is trouble!”
