Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 150: Chapter 150: Sunshine, Beach, Waves, Bikini...

Gu Yifan stared speechlessly at that mutt Wang Zibo. He really wanted to give him a couple of hard slaps.

”Er...”

Wang Zibo spoke up timidly, ”Brother Fan, please don’t look at me like that. I’m scared...”

”Brother Fan, let’s be serious. For real, what major do you think I should apply for?”

Gu Yifan glared at him and said irritably, ”Don’t you like playing video games? Then major in computer science!”

”Computer Science?”

Wang Zibo froze for a moment. He thought it over. ’If I major in computer science, it sounds like I’ll get to be on a computer all the time. Doesn’t that mean I can play video games every day?’

’That sounds pretty good!’

”Okay!”

Without any more hesitation, he made up his mind. ”I’m majoring in computer science!”

...

Meanwhile, Ye Wanqing was looking at Han Ning with a worried expression.

”Xiaoning’er, have you really thought this through?”

Ye Wanqing frowned. ”You know, with your score, you could easily get into the Shanghai Foreign Language College you’ve always dreamed of!”

”I have.”

Han Ning nodded, her expression serious and her gaze resolute. ”I’ve made up my mind!”

...

As the Gaokao scores were released province by province, the news that Mountain City had produced a top scorer with a perfect score spread like wildfire across the country.

A perfect raw score of 750 on the Gaokao!

What did that even mean?!

Before Gu Yifan, only one other person in history had ever achieved a perfect raw score of 750 on the Gaokao. Gu Yifan was the second!

In other words!

The name Gu Yifan was destined to go down in the annals of Gaokao history!

Even the *People’s Daily* ran a feature story on the event.

Suddenly, everyone—man or woman, young or old—was talking about it on every street and in every alley.

At the same time, prestigious universities from all over the country came calling in droves.

They all wanted to recruit Gu Yifan.

Even top universities like Qingbei, which Gu Yifan had previously rejected, extended another olive branch, and this time their offers were even more tempting.

The reason was simple.

After all, who would want to miss out on a talent like that?

Yet, Gu Yifan rejected them all again without a moment’s hesitation.

...

”What?”

”Gu Yifan, did I hear you correctly? Did you just say you’re considering our Jinling University?”

Chen Guanjun, the head of admissions for Jinling University, said with a look of delighted surprise.

He had only contacted Gu Yifan, the top Gaokao scorer in Sichuan and Chongqing Province, as a matter of procedure. He hadn’t actually held out much hope.

After all, this was a perfect Gaokao score!

”That’s right.”

Gu Yifan nodded and said calmly, ”And it’s not just me. The second-place scorer, Su Qinghe, is considering it as well.”

HOLY SHIT!

Chen Guanjun’s eyes went wide as saucers. He stared at Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe in utter disbelief.

SON OF A BITCH!

’I can’t stop myself from cursing!’

’Fuck!’

’Am I dreaming?!’

’The first and second-place scorers from Mountain City gave up Qingbei to consider my Jinling University?’

The monumental surprise left Chen Guanjun’s head spinning.

Snapping back to reality, he said hurriedly, ”Gu Yifan, Su Qinghe, first of all, thank you for your trust in our Jinling University. Please give me a moment. I need to call the school leadership and report this to them. Don’t worry, I will do everything in my power to get you the best possible offer. Please, trust me!”

’After all, under these circumstances, the special recruitment package the university had prepared was completely inadequate!’ ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

’Something this huge requires the president’s approval!’

’I can’t make this call on my own!’

Seeing that Director Chen was so excited he was starting to stammer, Gu Yifan simply smiled. ”Of course. Thank you in advance, Director Chen. Heh.”

”You’re too kind, Classmate Gu. It’s my duty. Heh heh...”

”I’ll go report this to the leadership right now. I’ll have an answer for you by this afternoon at the latest!”

Director Chen said.

”Mm... sounds good.”

Gu Yifan nodded.

...

「June passed, and July arrived.」

In the blink of an eye, nearly two months had passed since the end of the Gaokao.

As expected, both Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe’s applications to Jinling University were accepted.

And, as expected, Jinling University offered them terms that were more than satisfactory.

As the Gaokao admissions period came to a close, time wore on, and the buzz around Gu Yifan, the top scorer, gradually faded. The public’s attention shifted to the latest news of some celebrity cheating or another superstar’s career imploding.

...

Minnan,

Gulangyu Island.

Sunshine, sand, waves, bikinis...

The salty sea breeze caressed their faces, whisking away the warmth from their skin and leaving a slightly sticky feeling behind.

Gu Yifan, wearing sunglasses and a pair of colorful swim trunks, was lounging lazily under a beach umbrella.

That’s right.

After half a month of lazing around at home with nothing to do, Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe had returned to Minnan.

Of course, this time it wasn’t just the two of them. They had brought along an ”extra-large third wheel”—Wang Zibo.

The mutt had shamelessly insisted on tagging along, using the excuse that he was heartbroken and needed to see the ocean to mend his wounded heart.

’What could Gu Yifan say? He had no choice but to bring him along.’

’Besides, they needed someone to fetch drinks and carry their bags on this trip anyway.’

’Wang Zibo was perfect for the job!’

...

”Ahhh...”

Gu Yifan opened his mouth, and Su Qinghe, who was beside him, popped a washed grape inside.

Watching this, Wang Zibo, who was sitting nearby, couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

”Hey, Brother Fan, I’m still here, you know!”

He spoke with a look of bitter resignation, ”Can’t you two give a guy a break?!”

At his words, Su Qinghe’s face flushed slightly, but she quickly composed herself.

’She was getting used to this kind of talk.’

Gu Yifan lowered his sunglasses and glanced at Wang Zibo on the adjacent lounge chair. ”Jealous?” he said coolly. ”If you’re so jealous, why don’t you go find your ’soulmate’ with the three gold bricks? No one’s stopping you.”

Wang Zibo: ”...”

The moment Gu Yifan mentioned the ”three gold bricks,” the scene from the coffee shop flashed through Wang Zibo’s mind, and he couldn’t help but shiver.

”Brother Fan, didn’t we agree you wouldn’t bring that up!” he said with a look of exasperation.

”Oh, really? Did I promise you that? I don’t seem to remember,” Gu Yifan said flatly.

The expression on Wang Zibo’s face froze.

’That’s right!’

’That son of a bitch Gu Yifan never actually promised he *wouldn’t* talk about it!’

He was utterly speechless...

After a long silence.

”Um... Brother Fan, Sister-in-law Qinghe, I’m going for a swim!” Wang Zibo said dejectedly.

’He needed to cool off!’

Without waiting for Gu Yifan or Su Qinghe to reply, he immediately bolted.

’Dammit!’

’If I can’t beat them, I can at least run away!’

”Heh.”

’You little punk, as if I couldn’t handle you.’

Gu Yifan watched Wang Zibo’s retreating back, a slight smirk playing on his lips.
