Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Black Silk Technician Su Qinghe Is Online

After putting down his phone, Gu Yifan saw Su Qinghe looking at him with curiosity.

She was clearly interested in the phone call he just had but didn’t dare to ask. She could only stare at him expectantly, waiting for him to bring it up first.

Seeing her like this, Gu Yifan found it rather amusing.

A mischievous glint appeared in his eyes; he decided to tease Su Qinghe, this lovable idiot!

”Why are you staring at me like that? Is there money on my face?”

”Hurry up and eat your food!”

Gu Yifan said, feigning impatience.

Su Qinghe: ”...”

She was completely baffled by Gu Yifan’s sudden change of attitude.

Her mouth opened slightly, as if she wanted to say something. The words were on the tip of her tongue, but seeing that Gu Yifan seemed a little angry, she silently swallowed them back down.

Pouting, she obediently lowered her head and went back to eating.

Seeing her pouting like a wronged little wife, the corners of Gu Yifan’s mouth couldn’t help but curl up slightly.

But with her head down, Su Qinghe couldn’t see this. Otherwise, she probably would have wanted to pounce on him and bite him to death on the spot!

...

Soon, the two of them finished lunch.

By then, however, it was already two-thirty in the afternoon!

”Let’s go. The sun is still really strong outside. I’ll go back to the room with you to rest for a bit. Later, when the sun isn’t so harsh, I’ll take you out to have some fun!”

Gu Yifan said.

Before Su Qinghe could even reply, the ringtone of Gu Yifan’s phone, which was on the table, rang once again.

Both of them were taken aback. Gu Yifan picked up his phone and glanced at it, discovering it was an unknown number from the Capital City.

’It’s probably the people from the admissions offices of those art academies!’ he guessed.

Shaking his head, he answered the call anyway.

”Hello, this is Chen Yi, a professor from the admissions office of the Kyoto Music Academy. May I ask if this is student Gu Yifan? I’m calling on behalf of our Kyoto Music Academy to invite you to join us!”

Before Gu Yifan could even speak, the person on the other end of the line rattled off a quick self-introduction and stated his purpose.

Uh...

’Why is he talking so fast? Is he in a rush to take a dump?’

Gu Yifan was a bit baffled.

Seeing that he wasn’t speaking, the person on the other end hurriedly spoke again, ”I just contacted your school! Please, you have to believe me, I’m not a scammer!”

’Uh... a scammer?’

’Oh, right!’

’Kyoto Music Academy... Isn’t this the guy my homeroom teacher said my mom mistook for a scammer!’

’Looks like my mom really left a scar on the poor guy!’

Sigh~

’Poor guy!’

For a moment, Gu Yifan didn’t know what to say.

”Hello, I’m aware,”

Gu Yifan said with a slight smile.

”Phew...”

Hearing Gu Yifan finally speak, Chen Yi on the other end let out a heavy sigh of relief.

However, in the next second, Chen Yi’s expression fell once more.

”Hello, my teacher already told me about your intentions. But I’m sorry, an art academy doesn’t quite align with my future life plans, so thank you for the invitation!”

Gu Yifan stated calmly.

Chen Yi: ”...”

’Wait, that’s it? So straightforward?’

’I haven’t even stated the terms yet!’

For a moment, he didn’t know how to respond. But duty called, so he braced himself and said, ”Student Gu Yifan, our school is very sincere. If you are willing to come to our Beijing Music Academy, we will give you a one-time reward of 1,000,000 yuan. We’ll also waive all your tuition and miscellaneous fees for all four years of university. Starting from the month you enroll, you’ll receive a monthly living stipend of 20,000 yuan. Furthermore, we can promise you performance opportunities as soon as you enroll!”

”1,000,000 yuan?”

Hearing the terms offered by the Beijing Music Academy, Gu Yifan was genuinely surprised.

’Normally, specially-recruited students don’t get such generous terms!’

’Looks like they really did their homework on me!’

’They know that with my grades, getting into a top university like Qingbei is a sure thing. I might even be the top scorer in the college entrance exams.’

’If I do become the top scorer, then no matter which university I choose, the various rewards would add up to no less than this one million. That’s why they’re being so generous with their offer!’

’But, to be fair, offering terms like these really does show their sincerity, just as he said.’

However, Gu Yifan had already made up his mind. How could he possibly change it so easily?

Seeing him remain silent, Chen Yi thought he was dissatisfied with the terms and quickly added, ”Student Gu Yifan, if you’re not satisfied with these, we can still negotiate the conditions.”

”Besides, with your good looks and vocal talent, it would be a real shame not to enter the entertainment industry!” Chen Yi continued, trying his best to persuade him.

But Gu Yifan still refused, ”I’m sorry, but I’m really not considering an art academy at the moment. Thank you for your school’s kind offer.”

Hearing Gu Yifan’s rejection, Chen Yi felt unwilling to give up. He tried again, ”Student Gu Yifan, are you sure you won’t reconsider? With your talent and current popularity, you could easily break into the mainstream! A career in showbiz could be smooth sailing for you from here on out! Are you sure you want to pass up such a great opportunity?”

”Uh... singing is just a personal hobby of mine. I never thought about making it a profession. Besides, the path of a celebrity goes against my life philosophy, so I’m sorry!”

Gu Yifan refused again without hesitation. ”Um, sir, I have something else to attend to, so I’m hanging up now. Goodbye.”

Without waiting for a reply, he hung up the phone.

BEEP BEEP BEEP—BEEP BEEP BEEP—

Listening to the busy signal, Chen Yi’s mouth hung slightly open, the words he was about to say stuck in his throat.

’Hung up on by Gu Yifan’s family at noon, and now hung up on by Gu Yifan himself.’

’Sure enough!’

’The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!’

He grumbled silently to himself with a helpless expression.

...

Over the next few hours, Gu Yifan received more calls from different schools.

Rejecting them one after another started to get on his nerves.

Eventually, after sending a text to his mom, he simply turned his phone off.

After turning off his phone, Gu Yifan felt like the whole world had finally quieted down.

”Hey, Su Hanhan!”

Gu Yifan suddenly called out to Su Qinghe, who was sitting on the sofa watching TV.

”Hm?”

Su Qinghe turned her head to look at him, puzzled.

”Ahem~”

”Um... that ’Tofu-Grinding Massage’ I taught you last time, do you still remember it?”

Gu Yifan asked with a perfectly straight face.

”Ah?”

Su Qinghe’s little face flushed slightly as she suddenly remembered something.

”What do you mean, ’ah’?”

Gu Yifan shot her a look and said irritably, ”Do you remember or not?”

”I... I remember...”

Su Qinghe stammered softly, her face blushing.

”Good. Come over here. It’s your turn to give me one today!”

Hearing this, Gu Yifan added coolly, ”Oh, right. Remember to wear the black stockings!”

Su Qinghe: ”...-_-||”
