Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 132: Chapter 132: The Well-Funded Su Hanhan vs. the Pikachu Battle Suit

Seeing Gu Yifan staring at her, Su Qinghe’s little face flushed with embarrassment.

She hadn’t wanted to eat the rabbit head at first, but that rascal Gu Yifan had mischievously made her take a bite.

But with that single bite, her eyes lit up as if she had opened the door to a new world.

In the end, both of the spicy rabbit heads Gu Yifan was holding ended up in her stomach.

Only then did she realize that she’d eaten all the rabbit heads, while Gu Yifan had only had a tiny bite.

”Should... should we go buy two more?”

She looked at Gu Yifan and asked in a small, timid voice.

”Uh... haha!”

Seeing her look of still craving more, Gu Yifan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ”You little foodie. A minute ago, who was it that kept saying, ’I won’t eat it, I won’t eat it’?”

”Th-that wasn’t me.”

Su Qinghe shook her head with a completely straight face.

Gu Yifan felt a little helpless seeing that she had actually learned his knack for talking nonsense.

He took out a tissue to wipe the red chili oil from the corner of her mouth, then said in feigned annoyance, ”Come on, let’s go buy two more!”

”Mhm!”

Su Qinghe’s eyes lit up slightly. She gave a sweet smile and nodded vigorously.

Two spicy rabbit heads might seem like a lot, but there wasn’t much meat on them, so he wasn’t worried that Su Qinghe would get a stomachache from eating too much.

He just hadn’t expected that this Hanhan, Su Qinghe, had the potential to be a little foodie!

’Wait a minute!’

’I should have realized it long ago. A girl who would battle wits with me, pulling all sorts of tricks and acting cute just for some ice cream—if that’s not a foodie, what is?!!’

’Looks like Su Hanhan isn’t living up to her name anymore!’

...

「10:30 PM.」

Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe strolled hand-in-hand through the streets of Tan State.

By now, both of them were completely stuffed!

It had to be said, Tan State truly lived up to its reputation as one of the nation’s famous food capitals!

Besides, prices in Tan State during this era weren’t as outrageous as they would be in the future. The two of them had eaten their way from one end of the street to the other and had only spent about two hundred yuan.

Gu Yifan suddenly recalled the most infamous price-gouging incident in Tan State he had seen online in his past life. A tiny, two-to-three-centimeter-long piece of duck intestine was being sold for three yuan!

At the time, some people online had even said, ”That’s the price. If you can’t afford it, don’t eat it!”

Gu Yifan had been utterly speechless when he saw those comments.

’Is this really a matter of money?’

’Fucking hell, to put it bluntly, that thing was so small you could barely see it with the naked eye. Selling it for three yuan a piece was a total goddamn rip-off!’

As they walked, they found themselves by the riverbank without realizing it.

On the opposite bank, the lights were dim and scattered. A gentle river breeze drifted by, carrying away much of the summer heat.

There were also many families of three enjoying the cool air by the river, and the sound of children’s laughter and playful shouts echoed from time to time.

Su Qinghe was staring blankly at the distant river surface, lost in thought. It was hard to tell if she was savoring the memory of the spicy rabbit head or thinking about something else entirely.

With her dazed little eyes, she looked a bit silly.

”Su Hanhan~”

Gu Yifan suddenly turned his head and called out.

”Hm?”

Su Qinghe paused, tilting her head to look at Gu Yifan. ”Wha-what is it?” she asked softly.

”Hmm... do you want to stay here and have fun for a couple more days, or do you want to head back to your hometown, Zhang City, sooner?”

Gu Yifan took a cigarette from its pack and held it in his hand, looking up at her as he asked casually.

”I want to go back.”

Su Qinghe thought for a moment before saying softly, ”It’s been a long time since I went back to see my parents.”

”Huh?”

Gu Yifan froze for a second.

’Aren’t her parents already...’

As if sensing Gu Yifan’s confusion, Su Qinghe added in a low voice, ”The grass has grown. It needs to be cleared.”

Gu Yifan instantly understood what she meant.

”Alright!”

After a moment’s thought, he said, ”Then tomorrow when we get to the county seat, I’ll go with you to buy some incense, candles, and offerings.”

”Mhm.”

Su Qinghe nodded gently.

Gu Yifan didn’t say anything more. He took out a lighter and lit the cigarette in his hand.

”PHEW...”

Under the dim yellow light of the riverside streetlamp, pale white smoke rose slowly, filling the air with the faint scent of tobacco.

Su Qinghe didn’t say anything about his smoking this time. Since they had been together, the number of times he smoked had indeed decreased significantly.

After finishing the cigarette, Gu Yifan stubbed out the butt and threw it into a nearby trash can. Then he turned to Su Qinghe and said, ”It’s getting late, and we have to get an early start tomorrow. Let’s head back to the hotel.”

”Oh, okay.”

Su Qinghe nodded obediently.

This time, she proactively held out her small hand for Gu Yifan to take.

Gu Yifan was surprised for a moment, then smiled faintly. He enclosed her small hand in his palm, and the two turned to walk toward the roadside.

There were plenty of taxis on the road at this hour. After flagging one down, he gave the hotel address, and the driver headed off with the two of them.

...

「11:30 PM.」

The two returned to their hotel room.

Gu Yifan first called the front desk to have a staff member come get his car and fill it up with gas. Only then did he turn to Su Qinghe and say, ”Su Hanhan, you go take a shower first!”

Hearing the word ”shower,” Su Qinghe’s little face flushed slightly.

Even though their relationship had become very intimate, Su Qinghe was as thin-skinned as ever.

Seeing her suddenly blush again, Gu Yifan couldn’t resist teasing her. ”What? Do you think showering alone is a waste of water and want to wash up with me?”

”Ah?”

Gu Yifan’s words startled Su Qinghe.

She frantically waved her hands and stammered, ”N-no... I’ll go right now.”

With that, she scurried back to her room.

”Heh~”

Watching Su Qinghe’s retreating back, Gu Yifan smiled faintly.

...

Soon, Su Qinghe came out of the shower.

The steam from the bathroom had dampened the tips of her hair, and a lock of her bangs rested on her forehead, giving her a look that was both dorky and a little playful.

Fresh from her shower, she was wearing a cute Pikachu pajama set. The originally 2D Pikachu pattern on her chest was forcefully stretched into 3D.

’She really is a woman of abundant assets!’

Speaking of which, Gu Yifan had taken her to buy this pajama set a few days ago.

While they were browsing in the mall, amidst the dazzling array of pajamas, Gu Yifan had spotted this set at a glance and insisted on buying it for her no matter what!

As for why he chose this particular set?

’It’s the Pikachu Battle Suit!’

’If you know, you know!’

Seeing the amused look in Gu Yifan’s eyes as he watched her, Su Qinghe was a little bewildered.

But when she glanced down, she instantly understood!

”WHOOSH~”

Her little face instantly turned beet red!

’No wonder... No wonder this ”Big Bully” Gu Yifan had insisted she buy this set that day.’

’She hadn’t known why at first, but now she finally understood!’

’That big pervert!’

”I... I’m done showering. I’m going back to my room now.”

She said, her face red, and was about to turn and make a run for it.

But the moment she turned, Gu Yifan grabbed her hand...
