Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Trust from Su Hanhan! To Jinling

She gently closed her eyes, savoring the warmth of Gu Yifan’s embrace. Su Qinghe felt an unparalleled peace in her heart.

In this moment, she was no longer alone.

’If time could stand still forever in this moment, I don’t think I’d have any regrets,’ she thought.

Unlike her, Gu Yifan was desperately trying to distract himself.

’This Hanhan seems to have... grown quite a bit!’ Gu Yifan mused to himself.

’Maybe this is just the difference in how men and women think!’

”Su Hanhan...”

Gu Yifan suppressed the fluttering in his heart and spoke, trying to change the subject.

”Mmm...”

Curled up in Gu Yifan’s arms, Su Qinghe hummed softly with her eyes still closed.

Gu Yifan glanced down at her. Seeing her lazy expression, he shook his head with a helpless smile and asked, ”Hanhan, have you decided which university you want to apply to?”

Hearing this, Su Qinghe paused. She slowly opened her eyes, tilted her head back, and looked up at Gu Yifan.

”What about you?”

She didn’t answer, asking a question of her own instead.

”Uh...”

Caught off guard by Su Qinghe’s counter-question, Gu Yifan froze for a moment.

After a moment’s thought, he said, ”Hmm... I’m thinking Jinling. I want to experience the charm of the ancient capital of six dynasties!”

”Jinling?”

Su Qinghe sounded a little puzzled.

”Yeah, Jinling!”

”But it all depends on our scores, of course!”

”If another university makes me a better offer, I might just go there instead!”

”Heh heh...”

Gu Yifan nodded and said with a smile.

Originally, he had wanted to stay in Mountain City. After all, his family’s entire network and all their connections were here, which would make it convenient if he wanted to start a business or do something.

But on second thought, with the anti-crime campaigns intensifying in a few years, it’d be better not to cause trouble for his dad.

Besides, he suddenly didn’t want to be cooped up in Mountain City forever. The world was so big; he had to get out and see it.

If he were to return, it would have to be in style, when the Mountain City Government invited him back to invest.

That way, his parents would be proud.

As for choosing Jinling, he really did want to experience the charm of the ancient capital of six dynasties.

Plus, Jinling University was excellent, definitely in the top tier of universities nationwide.

”Oh, oh...”

After listening to Gu Yifan, Su Qinghe nodded, seeming to only half-understand.

Then, she added softly, ”Wherever you go, I’ll go.”

Although her voice was quiet, Gu Yifan still heard her.

He smiled faintly. ”You trust me that much? Aren’t you afraid I’ll sell you off?”

”Mhm, I’m not afraid.”

Su Qinghe said, gently shaking her head.

After a moment, she added, ”You wouldn’t.”

”Oh?”

”So confident!”

”Alright, you guessed right this time!”

Gu Yifan said with a laugh.

Su Qinghe also smiled faintly and said no more.

As for whether they could even get into Jinling University, neither of them had considered it.

This! This was the confidence of top students!

...

「5:30 in the morning.」

On a summer morning, the mountain was shrouded in thick fog.

Except for the small clearing on the summit, everything else was a hazy white.

”Hanhan, I didn’t expect the fog to be this thick today. I guess we won’t be able to see the sunrise!”

Gu Yifan said to Su Qinghe beside him, sounding a bit resigned.

”Mhm.”

”It’s okay, we saw it last time.”

Su Qinghe nodded and turned to comfort him. ”It’s getting late anyway, and we still have to return the uncle’s flashlight. Why don’t we head down?”

”Alright, I guess that’s our only option!”

Gu Yifan agreed with a nod.

Afterwards, the two packed up their things, took their trash with them, and started down the mountain.

Even though they couldn’t see the sunrise today, you could tell from Su Qinghe’s light steps that she was still in a good mood.

Her cheerfulness was contagious, and Gu Yifan’s disappointment about the missed sunrise vanished completely.

Just as they reached the halfway point, the sun came out.

”Uh...”

Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe looked at each other, their expressions blank.

Oh well.

Perhaps that’s just how life is, always with a few small imperfections.

Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe stopped on the mountainside for a while to watch the sunrise before continuing their descent.

By the time they reached the foot of the mountain, the sun was fully out. Its warm rays shone on their faces, chasing away the night’s dewy chill and leaving them feeling toasty.

At 6:10, they returned to last night’s food stall, just as the middle-aged owner was packing up his tables into a vehicle.

If they had been a moment later, the owner probably would have been gone.

After returning the flashlight to the owner, Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe called a car and went home.

...

「June 11th, the third day after the college entrance exams.」

Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe were strolling through a mall, planning to buy supplies for their upcoming road trip back to Minnan.

”I drive north, leaving the season of you behind. Around the steering wheel, my regrets keep turning...”

Gu Yifan’s phone rang just as he was picking out some camping gear.

Gu Yifan put down the item in his hand, pulled his phone from his pocket, and glanced at the screen. It was a call from that guy, Wang Zibo.

With a slight smile, he answered casually, ”Hey, Zibo, what’s up?”

”Brother Fan, what’re you up to?”

Wang Zibo’s listless voice came through the phone.

”Hm?”

Gu Yifan furrowed his brow slightly. ”Zibo, you sound completely drained. Did you ’reward’ yourself by playing the wise sage again last night?”

”Huh?”

Wang Zibo paused on the other end, sounding confused. ”What reward? What sage?”

”Nothing. What did you call me for? Spit it out.”

Gu Yifan said flatly, not bothering to explain.

If Wang Zibo knew what ”reward” and ”wise sage” meant, he’d probably have a heart attack.

Because...

Gu Yifan had guessed correctly!

”Oh, oh.”

Wang Zibo didn’t dwell on the reward thing. He said, ”Brother Fan, it’s like this. Some people from our class are organizing dinner and karaoke tonight. They couldn’t reach you on QQ and don’t have your number, so they asked me to see if you’re going!”

”Uh...”

Hearing it was a class gathering, Gu Yifan thought for a moment before declining, ”Nah, I’ll pass. You guys go have fun!”

”Uh... Brother Fan, if you’re not going, then I’m not going either!”

”I’d rather use the time to play a couple of games!”

”Brother Fan, let me tell you, I’ve been practicing a new hero for three days and three nights! Let’s go to the internet cafe in a couple of days. You can give me some pointers and see how I’m doing!”

Wang Zibo grew excited at the mere mention of gaming.

”A couple of days from now won’t work,”

Gu Yifan said.

”Why not?”

Wang Zibo asked, puzzled.

”Because... I’m going on a road trip!”

Gu Yifan stated coolly to Wang Zibo on the other end of the line.

Wang Zibo: ”...”
