Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 111: Chapter 111: I Still Prefer the Old Tsundere Princess Ning

Han Ning grabbed Gu Yifan’s hand, her eyes red-rimmed as she said frantically, ”No, it’s not like that!”

”Gu Yifan, we grew up together. I don’t want to leave you, I don’t want to lose you, and I don’t want a world without you!”

”And you promised you would never leave me! You’re a big liar! Are you going back on your word? Don’t you want me anymore?!”

...

Gu Yifan was speechless.

”Han Ning!”

”Calm down!”

”No one in this world is truly inseparable from anyone else!”

”You’re just not used to me not being around to bother you all the time.”

”In two months, college will start. You’ll have your own new friends and your own social circle, and so will I. When that happens, you’ll realize that we’re just insignificant passersby in each other’s lives.”

”Having me as a friend doesn’t add much, and losing me as a friend won’t take much away. It makes no difference whether I’m in your life or not!”

”So, let’s just leave it at that. I don’t want to say anything more.”

”Goodbye. Or we could just never see each other again; that works too.”

After speaking, Gu Yifan applied a little force and brushed Han Ning’s hand away. Then, without a moment’s hesitation, he turned and walked over to Su Qinghe.

”Hanhan, let’s go,” he said softly.

”Oh... okay...”

Su Qinghe nodded, still a bit dazed.

The moment they turned to leave,

Han Ning’s emotions finally erupted. Tears streamed from her eyes like a breaking dam, flowing uncontrollably.

”Gu Yifan!”

”Don’t go!!”

”I was wrong! I regret it!”

”I accept your confession! I’ll say yes! Please don’t go, okay?!”

she cried out to Gu Yifan’s retreating back.

At her words, everyone present froze. Su Qinghe felt an inexplicable surge of nervousness in her heart.

Gu Yifan was stunned as well. It was completely unexpected; he truly hadn’t thought Han Ning would bring that up now.

He subconsciously glanced at Su Qinghe and saw Hanhan looking extremely nervous. He found it a little amusing.

’This Hanhan probably regrets telling me to stop just now,’ he thought to himself.

Pulling his gaze away, Gu Yifan turned back to Han Ning and said expressionlessly, ”Sorry. It’s too late.”

At his words, Han Ning’s face turned deathly pale. She stared at Gu Yifan in utter disbelief, forgetting to cry for a moment.

”No, it’s not too late... It’s not too late...”

Han Ning muttered to herself.

With that, she jerked her head up to look at Gu Yifan. ”Yifan, I know you still like me, right?”

”I was wrong, I really regret it! Confess to me one more time, and I’ll accept. Okay?”

Gu Yifan was speechless.

He was at a loss for words. He even felt that this woman, Han Ning, had gone completely mad.

’After all, affection that comes too late is cheaper than dirt.’

’It’s like remembering to water a flower only after it has already withered. It’s pointless.’

’From the moment I was reborn, the two of us were destined to miss our chance.’

’Missed our chance. Not a mistake, just... past. Once a rift forms between people, it’s truly difficult to grow close again. And in this world, you can reconcile, but you can never go back to the way things were. Once passion is exhausted, all that remains is indifference.’

’I once laid my heart bare before you, holding nothing back, and you didn’t cherish it. Now that you’ve lost it, you’re filled with regret.’

’You have to understand, leaves don’t turn yellow in a day, and a heart doesn’t grow cold overnight.’

’In my past life, I gave Han Ning all my affection—you could even say I gave her my everything—but I never received anything in return. I broke down after being rejected time and time again, and in the end, I died full of disappointment and regret.’

’That’s right.’

’You say you regret it now, but I don’t know if you truly regret it, or if you’re just indignant and acting on impulse.’

’But what does that matter now?’

’Even a mended mirror still has cracks. A rope that’s been broken will always have a knot where it was tied...’

’Having been reborn, how could I possibly let myself make the same disastrous mistake all over again?’

’So!’

”I’m sorry, Han Ning,”

Gu Yifan said, looking at Han Ning with grim resolve.

Hearing Gu Yifan’s rejection, Han Ning completely ”snapped.”

She kept muttering, ”Impossible, impossible!”

Suddenly!

She saw Su Qinghe beside Gu Yifan. Pointing a finger at her, she said through her sobs, ”Gu Yifan, is it because of her? Because of this woman! Is that why you don’t like me anymore?!”

”How is she better than me?!”

”We grew up together! Does our decade-plus history as childhood sweethearts mean less than some outsider?!”

”I already said I was wrong! I regret it! I’m ready to accept your confession now!”

”Why won’t you forgive me?!”

”Why would you choose her over me?!”

Su Qinghe, who had been standing quietly beside Gu Yifan, flinched when Han Ning suddenly turned on her. She subconsciously glanced at Gu Yifan, momentarily at a loss for what to do.

Gu Yifan’s brows furrowed again. He felt this woman was beyond saving. Why on earth did she have to drag Su Qinghe into this?

He was getting angry now. Frowning, his expression cold, he turned back to look at Han Ning.

But before he could speak, Han Ning tearfully accused him again, ”Say something, Gu Yifan! Say it! Tell me!”

”Why?! Why are you doing this to me because of her?!”

”WAAAAAH...”

Han Ning had clearly lost all reason. Her once-exquisite makeup was now ruined by her tears, and she looked nothing like the arrogant Princess Ning she usually was.

’Still, this was the girl I loved for an entire lifetime in my past life.’

Seeing the scene before him, Gu Yifan couldn’t help but feel a slight stirring in his heart.

He said nothing. He just gently let go of Su Qinghe’s hand, then turned and slowly walked over to Han Ning.

When Su Qinghe saw Gu Yifan let go of her hand, she froze. A sense of emptiness washed over her. She watched blankly as he turned and walked toward Han Ning, her mind a complete mess.

”Sigh...”

Gu Yifan stood before Han Ning, looking at her tear-streaked face. He let out a soft sigh. ”Why are you doing this?”

He reached out and gently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. Han Ning bit her lip, looking up at him blankly as a fresh wave of sorrow washed over her.

”Gu Yifan, I was wrong. You do still like me, don’t you?”

Han Ning looked at him with pleading eyes, her voice weak and pitiful as she sobbed. She wanted to throw herself into his arms and cry her heart out, but he stopped her.

”Sigh...”

”Ah, Xiaoning’er... I still prefer the way you used to be, the arrogant and self-centered Princess Ning.”

Gu Yifan shook his head again and sighed.

”However!”

But then, his tone shifted, and he began to speak with grave sincerity...
