Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 117: Chapter 117: ”Tofu-Grinding” Massage? Unreliable Mom

「Ten minutes later.」

’This... is what he called his ”tofu-grinding” technique?’

Su Qinghe was half-lying, half-reclining on the sofa. She watched Gu Yifan—who was on the phone while ceaselessly kneading her feet—with a complicated expression on her face.

She had the distinct feeling that Gu Yifan had tricked her yet again.

’But... it feels pretty good!’ Su Qinghe thought to herself.

”Mmmph~”

Suddenly, Gu Yifan unconsciously applied a bit more pressure, and a soft moan of pleasure escaped Su Qinghe’s lips.

Gu Yifan froze for a second, then looked up at Su Qinghe.

Their eyes met, and a blush instantly crept across Su Qinghe’s cheeks.

Gu Yifan smiled slightly. He changed his motion, now gently caressing her delicate feet back and forth.

Su Qinghe’s face grew even redder.

”What was that sound?”

”Hey, Brother Fan, are you even listening to me?”

Wang Zibo’s voice came from the other end of the line. Gu Yifan finally snapped out of it. ”Yeah... I’m listening. And then what?”

Wang Zibo: ”...”

”What do you mean, ’and then what’!?”

”When Wu Xiaoyan and I left, Princess Ning was still crying. The point is, Princess Ning is really heartbroken this time. I think she might actually regret it, Brother Fan!” Wang Zibo said after a moment’s thought.

”Oh, I see.”

”If there’s nothing else, I’m going to hang up.”

Gu Yifan said casually, his tone flat.

”Er...”

Wang Zibo sounded helpless. ”Brother Fan, why don’t you go see Princess Ning? I just don’t think things should be like this between you two!”

Judging by Gu Yifan’s attitude, it was probably impossible for him and Princess Ning to get back together.

Besides, Gu Yifan had Su Qinghe now. More importantly, Wang Zibo also felt that Su Qinghe was a better match for Gu Yifan than Han Ning was.

But the three of them had grown up together, and he didn’t want to see Gu Yifan and Han Ning on such bad terms.

So, he couldn’t help but bring it up.

But just as he finished speaking, he heard Gu Yifan say flatly from the other end, ”I’m still grinding tofu! No time. That’s it, I’m hanging up!”

BEEP BEEP BEEP— BEEP BEEP BEEP—

Listening to the busy signal, Wang Zibo was at a complete loss!

”Grinding tofu???”

”What kind of ridiculous excuse is that?!”

Wang Zibo shook his head helplessly and couldn’t stop himself from muttering.

...

Gu Yifan tossed his phone onto the sofa. Just as he was about to use both hands, he looked up sharply and saw Su Qinghe gazing at him, her eyes soft as water.

”Er... why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face?”

Gu Yifan asked blankly.

”N-No.”

Su Qinghe’s pretty face flushed slightly as she replied in a small voice.

”Oh.”

Gu Yifan didn’t think much of it and resumed kneading her delicate, silk-clad feet with both hands.

Su Qinghe bit her lip, trying her best not to make any strange noises.

「A while later.」

Gu Yifan stopped what he was doing and clapped his hands together. ”Alright, that’s enough of today’s tou— Ahem, enough of the ’tofu-grinding’ massage for today!”

”Mmm... Next time, after I learn a few new moves, I’ll give you another one!”

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe paused. ”There’s... there’s more?”

”Of course!”

”Let me tell you, foot massages need to be a long-term thing. Otherwise, just once or twice won’t have much of an effect!”

Gu Yifan said with a perfectly straight face.

”Oh, oh...”

Su Qinghe pouted. She still felt like Gu Yifan was tricking her.

Gu Yifan ignored her little pout, glanced at the time, and said lightly, ”Alright, it’s getting late. Should we head back to Cuihu District?”

Su Qinghe thought for a moment, then looked up at Gu Yifan and said in a small voice, ”I want to stay here tonight.”

”Hm?”

Gu Yifan frowned at her words. ”Why? Are you not used to my place?”

”No, it’s not that.”

Su Qinghe shook her head gently. ”We’re leaving in two days. I want to spend some time with my mom and grandma...”

”Uh...”

Gu Yifan paused. He glanced at the memorial portraits of Su Qinghe’s mother and grandmother on the shrine and instantly understood what she meant.

”Okay... do you need me to stay here with you?” he asked after a moment of thought.

Hearing Gu Yifan’s words, Su Qinghe’s eyes lit up slightly.

She asked in a small, uncertain voice, ”C-Can you?”

Seeing her like this, Gu Yifan couldn’t help but chuckle. ”Of course!”

He reached out and pinched her cheek. ”I’ll just call my mom and tell her we’re not coming back tonight!”

”Okay!” Su Qinghe beamed.

Her beautiful, almond-shaped eyes curved into crescents, looking absolutely lovely.

Gu Yifan said no more. He picked up his phone from the sofa and walked out to the balcony to call his mom.

BEEP BEEP BEEP— BEEP BEEP BEEP—

After a few rings, the call connected.

”Hello~”

”You brat, it’s so late! Why haven’t you brought Qinghe back yet?”

Before Gu Yifan could even speak, his mother’s interrogation came through the phone.

”Er...”

Gu Yifan was taken aback for a second and shook his head helplessly.

After his mom finished her nagging, he rubbed the tip of his nose and said, ”Um... Mom, we’re not coming back tonight!”

”Hm?”

The moment he finished speaking, Chen Dongmei asked from the other end, her voice a little uncertain, ”What did you just say?”

”Ahem, I said Su Qinghe and I aren’t coming home tonight!”

Gu Yifan repeated.

Chen Dongmei: ”...”

She fell silent. After a long pause, she said ominously, ”You two just graduated, and you’re already playing for such high stakes?”

Now it was Gu Yifan’s turn to be speechless.

’What is my mom thinking?!’

”No, Mom, what are you talking about!”

Gu Yifan said helplessly to Chen Dongmei, ”We’re just staying at her place tonight to pack for the graduation trip the day after tomorrow! It’s not what you think!!”

”Oh, oh!”

Chen Dongmei instantly understood. So she had gotten the wrong idea!

But she refused to admit it. ”What do you mean, ’what I think’? I have no idea what you’re talking about!”

Gu Yifan: ”...”

Hearing his mom say that, he was momentarily lost for a comeback!

”Well, fine, whatever!”

”It’s fine if you don’t come back! But you have to be safe!”

”Just don’t go making a baby!”

Chen Dongmei said when her son went silent.

Without waiting for Gu Yifan to react, she hung up!

BEEP BEEP BEEP— BEEP BEEP BEEP—

Listening to the busy signal, Gu Yifan’s face darkened completely!

What did she mean, ’you have to be safe’? What did she mean, ’just don’t go making a baby’!?

What was all that nonsense!

He turned his head and saw Su Qinghe, whose face was already bright red. A wave of helplessness washed over him!

’Stuck with such an unreliable mom!’

Sigh~

’My life is so hard...’
