Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 114: Chapter 114: ’Brother’ Outside, ’Daddy’ at Home?

”I’m not being proud...”

Han Ning pouted and muttered defiantly in a low voice.

”See? Look at you. I say a couple of things, and you’re already unhappy!”

Ye Wanqing couldn’t help but roll her eyes and said, exasperated.

Han Ning: ”...”

”Sigh...”

Seeing this, Ye Wanqing shook her head with a soft sigh and said earnestly, ”Xiaoning’er, you really have to change that proud and difficult personality of yours. Mom has told you countless times, but you just won’t listen. If you keep treating Gu Yifan with that high-and-mighty, difficult attitude, how could he possibly pay you any mind?”

”Back when he liked you and spoiled you, you could be proud and throw little tantrums, and he’d think everything you did was wonderful. But what about now? You’ve completely broken his heart, and he’s decided to leave you. If you keep treating him with this attitude, you’ll only make him resent you more. I’m afraid that in the end, forget about him liking you—you won’t even be able to be friends!”

After hearing her mother’s words, the expression on Han Ning’s face froze.

”Xiaoning’er, think about it yourself. You’re eighteen now, an adult. You’re about to start college. You have a long road ahead of you, and you’ll meet all sorts of different people and face different situations. We used to spoil you, but from now on, other people won’t. If you always approach everything with this personality, you’ll be the one who suffers in the end!”

”So, Mom hopes that from now on, whenever you encounter anyone or anything, you’ll first think about what I’ve said today. You can’t just act on your whims all the time. Many things, many relationships, once a problem appears, are very difficult to salvage or repair. You should understand that by now!”

”Mom, I know I was wrong. I’ll change from now on.”

Han Ning’s eyes reddened again. She looked up at her mother and said softly, ”So if I go after Gu Yifan now, he’ll come back, right?”

”Good, good. Acknowledging your mistakes and being willing to change still makes you a good child!”

”Don’t worry, Mom will help you!”

...

At People’s Square, Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe were strolling casually.

Su Qinghe held an ice cream cone, occasionally sticking out her delicate little tongue to give it a light lick. A dab of ice cream accidentally got on the corner of her mouth.

That innocent, cute, yet slightly tempting look momentarily mesmerized Gu Yifan.

”Wh-What’s wrong?”

Seeing Gu Yifan staring at her face, Su Qinghe tilted her head in confusion and asked.

”Ahem.”

”It’s nothing. You’ve got some ice cream on the corner of your mouth.”

”Oh, oh.”

Su Qinghe nodded, then stuck out her little tongue and licked the corner of her mouth.

Gu Yifan: ”???”

Su Qinghe’s action almost made Gu Yifan surrender on the spot!

Seeing Gu Yifan staring at her with wide eyes, Su Qinghe’s pretty face blushed slightly.

After a long moment of silence, Gu Yifan suddenly spoke with a deadpan expression, ”Don’t lick your lips like that in public again!”

”Oh, okay.”

Su Qinghe paused for a moment. Although she was a little confused, she still nodded obediently.

”By the way!”

”Su Hanhan, did you remember what I taught you earlier?”

Gu Yifan asked after a moment of thought.

”Mhm.”

Su Qinghe first gave Gu Yifan a strange look, then nodded. ”I... I remember.”

”Good!”

”Repeat it for me, let’s hear it!”

Gu Yifan glanced at her and said flatly.

”O-Okay.”

Su Qinghe nodded and then said in a small voice, ”When we’re outside with a lot of people, I call you ’Big Brother,’ and when we’re alone, I call you...”

At this point, Su Qinghe’s little face flushed slightly, and she couldn’t continue.

”Hm?”

Gu Yifan’s brow furrowed slightly. ”Keep going. What do you call me when we’re alone?”

”D... Daddy...”

Su Qinghe lowered her head, biting her bottom lip as she spoke in a voice as faint as a mosquito’s buzz.

”Heh.”

A small smile played on Gu Yifan’s lips. ”That’s right. And what else? What do you do when you see a pretty girl outside?”

”When I see a pretty girl, I say: ’Miss, my big brother thinks you’re cute. Can I get your contact info for him?’”

Su Qinghe pouted, saying this somewhat reluctantly.

”Tsk~”

”Not bad, not bad!”

Gu Yifan nodded in satisfaction, then said with a smile, ”Since you’ve been so good, come on. Big Brother will buy you another ice cream!”

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe froze, glanced down at the half-eaten ice cream in her hand, and quickly said, ”N-No, that’s okay! I can’t finish it.”

”Oh, it’s fine!”

”I can finish it!”

Gu Yifan said, waving his hand.

Su Qinghe: ”...-_-||”

...

”Hey, Hanhan, hurry up and catch up!”

Gu Yifan, who had already walked some distance ahead, turned and shouted to her.

”Oh, oh, c-coming!”

Su Qinghe quickly replied, then carefully cradled the ice cream in her hand as she ran toward Gu Yifan.

...

The Mountain City night was a mesh of neon lights. The square was bustling with crowds coming and going, creating a lively scene.

After buying the ice cream, the two of them walked until they reached the edge of the square.

The night breeze brushed past, carrying away the day’s fatigue. Su Qinghe took small bites of her ice cream, thoroughly enjoying the pleasant moment.

”Hey, Hanhan, your ice cream seems a little different from mine!”

Gu Yifan said suddenly.

”Hm?”

”How is it different?”

Su Qinghe asked quietly, a little confused.

”Yours might have gone bad. You can’t eat it. Hmm... hold it over here, let me see!”

Gu Yifan furrowed his brow and said with a serious expression.

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe paused, then, without suspecting a thing, quickly held her ice cream out to Gu Yifan.

However, in the next second...

Her eyes flew wide open as she stared at Gu Yifan in disbelief.

The reason was simple.

That dog Gu Yifan had taken a huge bite of her ice cream, leaving only the very bottom of the cone in her hand...

”Hmm... tastes fine. It probably hasn’t gone bad.”

Gu Yifan said flatly.

Su Qinghe: ”...-_-||”

”Hey, don’t look at me like that. I was testing it for poison for you. It was for your own good!”

Gu Yifan shamelessly spouted nonsense with a straight face.

Su Qinghe pouted, looking like an aggrieved little wife. She didn’t want to talk to Gu Yifan anymore.

’If I could, I’d bite that jerk Gu Yifan right now!’

If Gu Yifan knew what Su Qinghe was thinking at this moment, he would probably be even more aroused!

’Biting? Not a bad idea at all... After all, our relationship hasn’t progressed to *that* kind of oral intimacy yet, has it?’

...

”Hey, Hanhan, looks like someone’s busking over there. Come on, let’s go check it out!”

Seeing that Su Qinghe was a little upset, Gu Yifan quickly tried to change the subject, pointing at a crowd in the northeast corner of the square.

Without waiting for her to reply, he pulled her along and headed straight over there...
