Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 242: Chapter 241: As Per Tradition, the Little Ones on Board Demand Attention

As they boarded the ships, these people set foot on the Shadow Fox and the Origin respectively, with the aim of figuring out methods to translate ancient texts, as it’s more trustworthy to keep such things in their own hands.

He did not mind letting them continue their historical research, as the Poneglyphs were their target of search anyway, but he also couldn’t allow them to pull any sneaky moves behind his back.

Splitting a group apart for questioning is the simplest method; he would not betray them, as long as they did not deceive him.

”Opportunities have been given to you. If you fail to seize them, you must bear the consequences.”

”Understood, I will cooperate with you...”

The initiation of the Buster Call made Clover suspicious of the World Government, and the destruction of the refugee ship made him completely lose hope in them.

After all, they turned the refugee ship into a disaster ship, and the only survivors on Ohara were due to pirates. Legally speaking, they were no different from pirates now.

This process didn’t last long, as these scholars had been studying the Poneglyphs for a long time. They thought their work was flawless, but in reality, they were already under the surveillance of the World Government.

The general content translation didn’t take much time and was not much different from the previous translations, which Olga did not find any significant issue with.

The writing of Alkemi has certain commonalities with ancient text, and with these professional terms translated, Olga and Asie could roughly translate the content in terms of grammar as well.

This behavior earned them a certain level of trust from the Hundred Beasts Pirates.

However, Olvia had one concern.

”Sir, your people... are too rough in their approach, it could damage the ruins.”

She was referring to an earlier act by Olga’s subordinate who intended to blow up the door. If they were to explore ruins like this in the future, it would not be exploring but destruction.

”We surely can’t match your professionalism, but all of you are already on the World Government’s death list; you are all deemed dead, and your reputations in the field are so prominent that appearing in a crowd could expose you.”

This situation was familiar to him; Shaina and King were in the same situation, but with a fundamental difference - Shaina and King were strong enough that their strength could avert many troubles.

These people were mere scholars, releasing them would only cause more problems for himself.

If they obey the rules, they could live comfortably on the Sky Island. There are only a few dozen of them, so it’s not a matter of resources, but if anyone attempts to cause trouble, he would have no choice but to make them disappear.

”Well... I’m not on the wanted list; they won’t care about a kid, let me join the archaeological expeditions.”

Nico Robin, who was nearby, voiced her own opinion. Although only eight years old, she was a certified historian from Ohara and was not inferior to any in historical research.

Having not had contact with Kuzan, an 8-year-old Nico Robin did not attract the World Government’s attention, and the title of ”Son of the Demon” did not exist.

However, her suggestion had some merit. The hidden chambers in some ruins were difficult to find for ordinary people. They knew the location of three Roadsign Poneglyphs, but not in which ruin the fourth one was.

Having a professional was necessary, and being the only one ”freely available,” Robin became the only suitable candidate.

”Kid, acting with us could get you identified as a pirate.”

”Indeed, the Navy won’t care about such details, think clearly.”

The pirates nearby ”intimidated” Robin. In the culture of the Hundred Beasts Pirates, adults could be ignored, but children must be taken seriously.

According to the statistics of the senior members of the crew, the children brought back by the Hundred Beasts Pirates weren’t simple.

Yamato, the captain’s biological daughter, Arceus’ adopted daughter.

Olga, one of the Three Disasters, a high-level official.

Setsuna, official reserve.

Jack - Fishman Race, Mandfeish’s little brother.

Black Maria, daughter of Kaidou’s fellow countryman.

Nico Robin may not have shown much talent yet, but she was a Fruit Ability User and a historian; one wouldn’t know if she could become prominent.

”I... I’m not afraid of that...”

The residents of Ohara feared her, and the Navy destroyed Ohara, but these pirates made her feel warmer; after all, this was her first contact with pirates, and she hadn’t seen their darker side.

First impressions are very important. The scholars of Ohara felt the same; their first impression was of these pirates moving books, which made them feel the pirates were better than those who destroyed documents, the Navy.

Having witnessed everything after being taken away from Ohara, this impression became stronger.

”Hey, Robin, you should stay with your mother and study archaeology. Don’t think about becoming a pirate!”

Only Saul had some opinions about this, not wanting to see Robin take the pirate’s path.

”Hey! You big guy weren’t saying that when you were drinking last night!”

”Indeed! Besides, look at your wanted poster! A hundred million Belly! The initial bounty being a hundred million, you are the ’Great Pirate’ here!”

The Navy hadn’t figured out where Saul had disappeared to, so they issued a wanted poster for him. Being from the Giant Race combined with being a Headquarter Vice Admiral, his initial bounty was a hundred million Belly.

Although Belly had begun devaluing, starting at one hundred million was still a high bounty, but Nico Olvia’s bounty was revoked, as the World Government considered her dead.

No skeletons were found on the ruins of Ohara, but it seemed more likely that nothing would be left after such fierce bombardment. Apart from that piece of Poneglyph, they found nothing else.

Before the Ohara incident, Saul could confidently say that pirates were irredeemable villains, and the Navy was the only justice, but now he couldn’t say that anymore.

”Pirates... are too dangerous, Robin is too young...” Saul finally stammered and left it at that. This matter ended without a conclusion; it was all too far away, and they hadn’t even entered the Windless Zone yet.

At a certain branch in the West Sea, Navy warships temporarily returned here after the Buster Call concluded, and Kuzan immediately approached Sengoku, complaining to him about the incident.

”Kuzan, there’s no need to pursue this matter any further.”

”Why?! That guy Sakazuki attacked a civilian refugee ship!”

”I know, but he has already reported the matter to Marshal Kong, and it was long sent to the Five Elders. The World Government has no objections, so it’s unnecessary to pursue past events, understood?”

”I understand...”

From this day, the Navy lost a passionate youth and gained a lazy Vice Admiral...
