Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 220: Chapter 219: Thunderous Eight Trigrams, Moonlight Moriah

”Yamato, watch closely, this is how you use the Wolf Fang Club, Thundering... Hakken!”

On the rooftop of Ghost Island, Kaidou swung his Wolf Fang Club at a target made of vines by Arceus. The Hassaikai entangled with lightning and Haki, and the target shattered to pieces under Kaidou’s attack.

”You’re... teaching her this move now?”

”This is the basics. Most of my techniques evolve from this Thundering Hakken. Without Haki, augmented with Armament, or entwined with Supreme King, though I’ve only just begun to grasp Supreme King Entanglement.”

Initially, Kaidou had heard from Rocks about this, only knowing it was a highly difficult skill, and now he’s just touched the threshold.

”Haki and such can wait a bit, but her physique already meets the minimum requirements. Yamato, move your hands up a bit, spread your stance, so you can exert force better.”

Arceus couldn’t intervene in Kaidou’s teaching, as their combat styles were different. While Kaidou primarily engaged in melee, even though he had various Elemental Attacks, Arceus didn’t need to fight in close quarters.

With a multitude of skills, Arceus himself was the ultimate artillery with unlimited firepower; nothing a single Judgment couldn’t handle, and if there was, just fire another.

Though powerful, his combat style was unreplicable, it could only be used for reference in some aspects.

However, Arceus did interfere with some of Kaidou’s teaching methods, like Kaidou thinking Yamato should personally experience the power of the Thundering Hakken.

This met with strong opposition from Arceus, even though Kaidou believed he could control the force well.

A month later, the battle reports from the four squads came back.

”King’s situation is favorable, they’ve already captured the first island, Queen is about the same.

Olga’s progress is slower, she’s too concerned about casualties, so her advancement is the slowest.

Zeraora did encounter a tough opponent, but there’s no issue, except Setsuna suffered a slight injury.

Overall, the operations have achieved very good results, with casualties within our acceptable range, and there’s been no particularly difficult opponents.”

Shaina put away her report, conveying the intelligence they received. After ten years of development, the Hundred Beasts Pirate Crew was no longer just a small vessel on its maiden voyage. It had grown strong and mighty, and with the vacancy in positions on the Sea today, the influence of the Hundred Beasts had become increasingly significant.

”Very good, continue with the plan.”

...

Meanwhile, in the waters near Wano Kuni, a pirate ship appeared, its main sail bearing a menacing grinning skull.

The skull was adorned with horn-like decorations, with flame-like patterns on the sides, and bat wings at the back instead of traditional crossed bones, marking this as the ship of the Moonlight Pirates.

A tall man with extremely pale skin, small horns on his head, wearing a black overcoat and topped with purple hair, stood on the deck.

This is the captain of this ship, Moonlight Moriah, with a bounty of 320 million Berries, undoubtedly a Super Rookie this year.

At this moment, he was still the captain of the Moonlight Pirates, and Thriller Bark had not yet appeared; his pirate ship was just an ordinary, slightly larger pirate vessel.

A little over a year ago, having witnessed Roger’s execution which stirred his heart, he, originating from the West Sea, did not return there but instead directly entered the Grand Line, establishing his Moonlight Pirates the same year.

After over a year of effort, Moriah and his companions passed through Fishman Island and finally reached the New World.

Just recently, Moonlight Pirates fought a fierce battle with pirates in the New World, and Moriah achieved a great victory, bolstering the confidence of everyone on board.

”Moriah, you’ll definitely become the Pirate King, right!”

”Call me Captain, when will you remember that?”

”Hey hee hee, it doesn’t matter, call me whatever you like, but he’s right, I’ll definitely become the Pirate King!”

Watching his playful companions, Moriah was full of confidence at this moment.

At this time, the ship suddenly trembled violently, causing many aboard to fall to the deck due to the intense shaking.

”Hey, hey! Nord, do you even know how to steer a ship?”

”If you can, go ahead! We seem to have gotten caught in some sea current, the New World’s currents are too complicated!”

These waters are on the outskirts of Wano Kuni, filled with dangerous and intricate currents, with only one path to safely reach Wano Kuni. A slight mistake could cause a shipwreck here, as even Whitebeard’s ship was heavily damaged here back in the day.

”Nord, are you okay?”

”It’s a bit tricky, but I’ll manage, leave it to me, Captain Moriah.”

”Yeah, I trust you, you’re the best navigator I’ve ever seen.”

Thanks to his skill, the Moonlight Pirates’ ship successfully navigated here, and they saw the giant carp, a specialty of Wano Kuni. Even though Arceus had modified a few Magikarp, there were still many ordinary giant carp here.

After many twists and turns, they remarkably managed to ascend Wano Kuni’s waterfall.

”Ca... Captain Moriah! There’s an island beyond the waterfall!”

Once the people aboard regained their footing, they saw the main island of Wano Kuni. The waterfall at Wano Kuni had two routes; the one at the Hidden Port was steeper, making the likelihood of ascending nearly zero, hence they ascended via the other route.

Due to obstructed vision, they did not see the Ghost Island.

”This is the charm of the Grand Line; besides Fishman Island deep below, there’s actually an island here. Let’s go, brothers!”

”Oh!”

...

At this moment, Kaidou was not on Ghost Island; he and Yamato were amidst the snowy lands of Ringo. Arceus had suggested making education enjoyable to encourage children to learn actively, to which Kaidou agreed, hence they came here.

”Father, what are we doing here?”

”Of course, we’re here to have a snowball fight.”

”A snowball fight? Really?”

”Of course, it’s true, just that this game is slightly different from what you’re used to.” Kaidou said as he had Yamato, Maria, and Jack stand in the middle of the snow, bending down to scoop up a handful of snow.

With a firm squeeze, a solid snowball appeared in his hand.

”You three, watch closely!”

He said, throwing the snowball, and Yamato only heard the sound of it cutting through the air by her ear. When she and Jack looked back, a small tree, about the thickness of a wrist, had been broken.

”Game time is thirty minutes, whether you dodge or block is up to you. Of course, you can try to attack me; the main point is... do your best to survive!”

Under pressure, the loose snow became somewhat solid, amplified by Kaidou’s strength, prompting the three youngsters to hurriedly start dodging.

”He... Help! I don’t want to play anymore, Father, this isn’t fun!”

”No way, Yamato, there’s still 29 minutes, the game has only just started!”
